Great post(Starred)I hope we do have the capability in the future(hopefully while I am still alive)to travel amongst the stars.

But to your point of "I hope they are nice"I do too,but all of the modern Astronomy books(I had one for my Astronomy 126 class)and other books of that nature keep with the possibility that any other intelligent life form could possibly be hostile and want to destroy any threats to their civilization,or to want to expand their "empire"-just as the more advanced cultures on Earth have in the past.Although it is possible that any "superadvanced"(an civilization more than a century at the least ahead of us technologically)would be beyond "warfare"or domination of lesser species.

I hope the latter,I am kind of inclined to think so also, since we have not been "obliterated"as of yet.

Actually, most people do believe in aliens once you tell them the ridiculous odds of them not existing. I mean, if there are an infinite amount of galaxies in the universe, there's next to a 100% chance of life being out there.

What's really the question is whether aliens have visited this planet or not. I believe that both aliens have visited and the government has experimented, but I could never differentiate between which is which.

I believe in the existence of extra-terrestrials because I have seen NASA/satellite pictures and videos of massive ships performing extraordinary maneuvers in space that negates the notion that they could be space junk.

I have seen GOES satellite pictures of huge, unknown ships that appear to be around 1-5% the size of Earth, orbiting Earth.

And an bright object perhaps the size of Earth zipping by Jupiter, taken by a space probe surveying Jupiter's system.

And what about the Disclosure project, which confirmed the existence of extra-terrestrials;

I have taken a few pictures of objects I cannot explain...

I believe.

i have seen a UFO back in the late 80s pretty close in hawaii. but not only that but also the fact that you would have to be naive to think with all of the planets in the universe that we are the only living things. and ppl seem to forget that a planet doesnt have to be like ours for life to be there. i mean we find new life forms here on earth everyday and alot of them live in places no one thought life could live. like at the bottom of the ocean close to all that gas. oh yeah and if science did find life on another planet do you honestly think the gov. would let us in on it. come on.

I have never seen an alien,(ebe). I once saw a hole in space. It was like some one made a hole in the universe. And it was in the shape of an equilateral triangle. With nothing at all in the back ground. And a light that moved along the perefrie of that triangle. Leaving a light at each corner. The going to the center, pausing for a moment. Then disappearing straight up. At which must have been near the speed of light. And after that happened, the triangle disappeared. And normal space time came into the extant. Like nothing happened! Heavenly bodies do not move in such a manner. One can not make the sky disappear....djsmlapool...........

A completely shut off mind would not except the possibility of alien life.

An open mind delves into the possibility with questions from the heart.

Its these questions and the quest for ultimate truth that drives me.

As the X-Files so elegantly put it, The truth is out there...

Alien life is more like a light, guiding the way for true thinkers.

thankyou for an interesting question that has made me think.
i believe (not in any particular order) because:
1. I understand that there are countless planets in our universe that might support life at all levels of intelligence. Is it in the millions, or is it billions...or more?
2. we see all around us on Earth- a great desire for all kinds of life to express wherever possible even in the most extreme of conditions, and we are the microcosm of the universal macrocosm. eg, the spiral of a cyclone, matches the spiral of a galaxy; or the nature of the hologram.
3. I have personal experience from childhood, often in synchronistic ways of meeting ET's, seeing their craft, a wide range of experience there good and bad, not just "physical" but all real not delusionary.
4. thanks to the internet, I have been able to recover from a typical limited and deluded academic curriculum when growing up. and now to catch up, to study reality, life: a wide range from all over the planet of witness testimony and psychology, photographic and video material (starting from the 30's), and dedicated research from others -including the disinformers and immature`-, that continues to help me to connect the dots (far from finished of course, and sometimes it is one step forwards, two steps back): such as lloyd pye, david sereda, john lear, joseph skipper, martian-lifeforms.com, the mars rovers, the poor apollo astro-nots, crop circles, and many many more.
5. putting the human family as a small part of a bigger family in my mind helps to explain humanity's (hidden) history, anomalous archeology, and mysterious origins; gives a greater understanding of our recent history starting from the 30's; it gives perspective to some of our current predicaments /activities today including processes of disclosure and education via media and the internet, cosmic technology coming down the pipe, the pentagon, the nature of our spiritual/political/intelligence leadership; chemtrails; rumsfield's admission of 2 trillion missing, just before 9/11 ....and on and on
6. of the great fear in humanity - but we do not have to repeat the past, we can move it all on and do the "star trek" and face the klingons if we stick together, our strength is a collective reality, on our own we are powerless. (i'm only half-kidding about the klingons!)

Its been fun. thanks again for starting the thread!

I'm going to say yes I believe and my reasons are If Aliens have visited our planet they are very advanced, so advanced that they are able to get past our radar and eyes in the sky just like some of our stealth planes. I for one wouldn't blame them for wanting to show themselves because We as a Race of human beings are not ready for it. We would shot them down, some would try to manipulate to learn their secrets and then take advantage of everyone. Others would try to exploit their weaknesses and not even show understanding to them just like we do to each other everyday. We do it everyday, even in the Faith issues with believing if Jesus did walk the earth or if the Bible is real or was it created by people to control others and keep them in their place so they could get rich and manipulate them to do whatever they commanded! IF Aliens came to our planet they are saying "Their Race is to young, they are still battling with each other and they wouldn't try to understand us!" Now if they ever do come to our Planet I wouldn't rush out to them, I would be very cautious as I know they would be with us. I never do think that we are alone in the Universe, were do you think we came from if not from God or from Adam and Eve, as a matter of fact here is a question for you If God created the Earth in 6 days and on the 7th he rested and then next he created Adam, where was the Dinosaurs? were they outside the Garden of Eden? How could that be if Dinosaurs went extinct by an Impact from a Meteor which caused the world's climate to change, and after that alot of other things happen that changed the world so how did this all happen if God Created the World in 6 days and then rested on the 7th and created Adam next? Man those were some long days lol? You do the math and get back to me on that. I don't believe everything I see and read because just like the Bible it was created by man and man will lie alot to sale something or make it a big hit where people will come back to it over and over again. Now I do beleive in Aliens because thats what we are. We are all different, we all have different color skin, speak different languages, and have different cultures, and look we can barely get along on the same planet, so how do you think a much more advanced species that probably have observed our planet since its Infancy stage feel about getting to know us? For all I know if the UFOs that supposedly crashed and got covered up by the government ever happen it was probably drone or a decoy to see how we would react to it, and look at us. Secrets, spying, Threatening, Torturing, and Murdering just to keep people quiet from something that was meant to be shared with everybody. So Yes I believe and i don't Blame them for Staying Hidden from Everybody discovering them.

Because the odds are 10 million to one.

Its 10 trillion to one.
Thats a pretty big statistic, no single footage as yet has proved aliens exist, but the "maths" speak for themselves i think.

The problems is our mathematics:
Some consider 10 trillions to one an infinitely slim chance.
My question is: How many chances are there?

I don't want to develop, that's basically it.

But to answer at the original post, I was given this telescope at a young age and had the chance to use it first way up in the alps. There on the roof my brother and I saw this "plane" traveling and decided to spot it with the telescope. As he aimed it, I saw it speed up considerably as my bro followed it with the scope. I asked if he saw that, he said yes and we decided that was enough for one night and he said: Oooooook, we didn't see a thing. Speaking of the parents inside the house.

Other times include with my friends and I in a park, we look up and see 3 lights aligned in a triangular shape on a 2-d plane (not a plane as in airplane. Plane as in surface). As it moved it covered the stars behind it. Judging from the patch of sky it was covering it was huge ( covering all 3 stars of the handle of the big dipper).

Then some other time, with my family, during a pretty nice aurora borealis in montreal, the veil travelled over our heads and became bright red (the aurora c'mon) and there, another 3 bright points in a triangular shape in the sky traveling. This time I could see the aurora borealis inside the shape. Maybe it means it was behind it maybe not. I couldn't remember, the whole thing was just so amazingly beautiful.

Whatever was up there, the show must have been great.

Theeeeeen, there's this recurring condition I have in which each night (and I do mean each and everyone) I dream of what is going to happen within a time period of 3 days, not more. I decided to conclude it was of extraterrestrial incidence. But that's me.

Oh and I had to say this.

People, I think that before we see extraterrestrial life in a fashion that is equal or superior to our civilization at the time we see it will happen the following way.

First we will discover and at least (hopefully) acknowledge its existence wordlwide at a cellular stage.
Then going forward in the evolution track (that they teach us at school) we will eventually discover plants animal etc....THEN and only THEN, we will all be conscious of extraterrestrial life in it's whole.

Badabim. We are doooooooooooooown the food chain.
But how fast it is going to happen is beyond my ideas.

Personally I don't think we currently have any conclusive way to know either way but I believe it is possible for them to exist elsewhere and although I admit not to know either way I would like it if there was life somewhere else.

One thing I will say is I wouldn't mind what kind of life it was so much, simple as bacteria or as complex or more complex than us. I don't even mind if it no longer exists, finding fossils or other evidence would be cool.

I believe because I have had experience with some kind of life form. Talking face to face... and yes I was thinking at the time the person could've been crazy, but when she started not only using words but pictures in my mind to communicate with me. Only way I can describe it is a feeling.. like you know something for sure without any doubt. I had experiences like this when I was younger.. and none since. I firmly believe in ET's and not just because the fact that its mathematically IMPOSSIBLE for us to be alone... thanks for the thread.

great responses everyone!

80% believe in Et's because of the numbers. the odds and the law of the universe. I was laying in bed today and came up with a question to ask.

you say that because there's life on earth, there has to be life on other planets. Yet, Scientists are certain that there is no life on this solar system. Gas planets cannot hold life, Mars is too remote and too unstable. venus is a mess. So I can safely assume that there's no life on this solar system other than us.

now here's the question. I placed 100 boxes looking down on the floor. In one of the boxes there's a Lizard when you turn the box over. Now, you know that under one of those boxes there's a Geico lizard. Now how about the other 99 boxes? do you assume that there's a Lizard in every one of those boxes or none at all and why?

well we are close to the edge of milky way galaxy. So we are considered very young. Like some poster suggest that there might be lifeforms that are millions or billions of years more advanced or older than us if we go close towards the center of the galaxy.

Its like back when people who think earth is flat. Where an island thought to be the only earthlings until boat was invent to allow exploration. There's a lot of things to that we are still learning. I am sure there are lifeforms that much more advance than us in terms of technology beyond our imagination.

The same reason that you believe you have a brain. Have you ever seen it? Of course not... but isn't it obvious that you do have one...? Well since you do indeed have one then I'll request you to use it and understand that the probability that among ten trillion planets Earth being the only inhabited one is zero percent.

You tend to assume that if life is to exist on other planets it has to be very similar to that here; that it is going to need an atmosphere that humans consider "stable" and a solid ground to stand on instead of an all-gas environment. Well the future holds unlimited number of surprises for us and on one hand where their may exist life that is similar to us and has similar needs of survival and existence, bear in mind that there may exist a life that might have light-weight bodies and flat limbs to be able to navigate in a heavy-gas environment, might feed on each other or some kind of gas, might not breathe at all, blah blah blah... well you never know there might be life on Jupiter itself... or in fact since the missions sent to Mars could only detect the type of life that humans are either familiar with or can imagine, they may have missed some existing form of life there that they weren't programmed to call "life"... oh #, I think there may be plenty of such life on Earth as well that we don't call life but is actually... "life"!

I hope you don't believe in Aliens just because you saw Spielberg's E.T. Or because of hollywood's images of aliens over the years. what solid evidence do you have for yourself to believe that they have come here in a flying saucer or whatever it may be. just give a simple reason why you believe that they are real. Please no youtube stuff, that's not validation.

I believe in them for the following reason: "I been to their planet in an OOBE and I've seen their race and their planet" So that's my reason why I believe in Aliens. Discuss and give a brief, but solid answer. thanks!

A very dramatic post but each to thier own.

Yes I do, Yes I have and I do not have oobe dreams like some? just realy on down to earth proof.

The craft was there we saw it land, the occupants were out of the craft and moving around it.

I will say no more

The problem here is people like Jaime Mausan. he see's footage of a UFO and his jaw immediately drops. In his brain, he immediately thinks this is proof that aliens exist. he's always talking about little green men in the ships and in his weekly Tv show he assures everyone that crop circles can only be done by Aliens and not humans. this guy equates a UFO sighting with being aliens and that's why he believes in them, even if he has not seen the pilots, he immediately assumes that little men are driving those flying saucers, yet he's NEVER seen one. do you know what I mean?

Greetings!
I have been lucky enough to see our visitors' flying machines at close range, for an extended period, with my own eyes. I trained as an aeronautical engineer in the military, and to say I was absolutely stoked is an understatement. Just amazing to see these things absolutely clearly, in daylight, suspended silently in mid-air, at close range.
Although I have accepted the existence of 'others' as a result of experiences going back more than 40 years, this particular sighting in 1994 was the best I've had. If I'd had a camera, I would possibly have captured some of the clearest ever photos of a UFO. As it is, I only have my minds eye, and that of my co-worker with me at the time.
If you can accept my account as true, so be it. If you cannot believe this, I'm sorry, but it is true non the less.
Sooner or later, more and more people will have first hand experiences, with compelling physical evidence, and come to accept the reality of ET's, to the point where their existence is widely accepted as undisputed fact. Our respective Governments could help this along a bit, but for whatever reason, they don't seem that way inclined.
Until then, if you are still sceptical, better to keep an open mind... there is no conclusive, rational proof that ET does not exist either!
The truth is what the truth is... our opinion of it is incidental.
Cheers.

I belive there are craft that have capacities far beyond anything that is known publicly. I believe there are advanced technologies based in electromagnetic phenomena that are not understood in mainstream physics.

I believe this for two reasons. First, the large number testimonies by credible, and multiple, witnesses and corrobrating physical evidence. To me, the COMETA report is one of the most clear-cut documents on this point. Second, the user Teslanlyne on this forum has made me aware that Tesla said he had developed flying machines. He had the credentials, being an extraordinary inventor.

I am agnostic about the presence of extraterrestrials in our solar system.

Tesla died in 1943. It hardly seems a coincidence that two atomic bombs were dropped in 1945 and there has not been a world war since. I would bet technologies were stolen and controlled by the industrial-military complex and groups, developed, but never disclosed. I think they have not been 'forced' to disclose these technologies in the way the a-bomb was 'disclosed'.

In short, there is a lot of evidence about craft, "UFOs", with extraordinary capabilities. There is good evidence this traces back to Tesla. I have personally not seen anywhere near the same amount of evidence about extraterrestrial beings.
