Actually, I have to attribute that quality to the fact that I've been a voracious reader ever since I learned how to read, in every subject that piqued even momentary interest. It may be true that "experience is the best teacher," but she's also a harsh one; She gives you the test before the lesson.

Hmmm...How about talking the issues with people, that is, stuff you find in today's news? Start also talking about how the history of those very same stories is having impact on the present-ie: How government action in the past has been "evolving" into today's problems. One good example is how, during the Cold War Era, the CIA itself trained Osama bin Laden in terrorist-style tactics...

You may also try writing "letters to the editor" in local newspapers, find radio talk shows that allow call-ins...Plenty of places to start if you just look around your community.

If you get "outrage at the unfair" as a response (& if you're being sincere & truthful during your discussions, that's probably what you'll get), then perhaps you could ask them what they would do if they could do something about it...In effect, help them to figure out the source of the outrage.

Petitions may help or they may not...The Government is currently trying to stall & ignore petitions as much as possible, even going so far as to claim that they're not required to provide an answer...Even though petitioning (as described under the First Amendment) specifies that petitions must be addressed for redress! That is, redress meaning that the problem in the peition must be fixed. Also, the Courts are now openly colluding with the Executive to stop legal & peaceful efforts to enforce accountability from the government.
Yet, there's so many different ways to write a petition, the best examples I've seen to date (as in wording, context & content) can be found at the WTP Foundation. Please note that I'm not asking anyone to sign any petitions anywhere...I'm merely pointing out good examples as far as writing them goes.

As far as I see it, modern America is facing nearly the same situation now as George Washington faced in his time: "Our cruel & unrelenting enemy leaves only the choice of brave resistance, or the most abject submission. We have, therefore, to resolve to conquer or die."

Some of what was posted I have heard of before, but there was alot of new information.



The assasination of President John F. Kennedy has sparked one of the largest and longest running conspiracy theory's ever known. (food for thought) Everyone that was alive during the period of the assasination, recalls exactly where they were and what they were doing. When George H.W. Bush was asked, his response was, "I don't seem to recall where I was that day."


I found this very interesting. And the picture definatly looks like a young G. Bush. I was thinking though was he supposed to be there? Wasn't he up there in government groups? But then if he was supposed to be there or had a legitament reason, why did he not "recall" where he was that day? That just doesn't smell right.

You know I can remember back in elementary and middle school doing a moment of silence, where you could pray or do whatever. I like this approach better than saying a prayer aloud. It also gives the student/child a chance to pray for what think is important instead of just receiting the same thing over and over. By high school though they quit even doing the moment of silence. Now very few schools do it at all. We have definalty moved away from a christian based U.S.




We see the emergence of a new group culture, referred to as, 'Hippies.' They truly had the U.S. government running scared. They were non-materialistic. They spoke out publicly against government beauracracy and the involvement in Viet Nam. The government fought back with false propaganda about the Hippies and had the rest of the country scared of their intentions.

I consider myself a hippie minus all the mind altering substances. I think the whole world would be a better place with more hippies. People who are non-materlistic, against war, and for peace and love. Granted there are a few rotten apples in every barrel. And there were many hippies who overdosed on mind/mood altering substances, and committed crimes, but for the most part the hippi intensions were way miscalulated.

I understand why the government was scared. Could you imagine what would have happened if the hippi movement had woken up the majority of the population? We would be a very different US today. Of course That would not work for our goverenment. They had no control, and had to regain it back.




Then we see the face of public television start to change. At one time, FCC was very strict against the usage of swear words. Now it seems that just about anything goes, as long as it helps corrupt the minds of our people. It is hard for me to believe the things that are deemed acceptable


Ha the FCC is a joke. I don't mind certain adult shows to be on at night, (after 10pm) but when they start playing shows like family guy at 8 pm it makes you wonder. Thats one of the prime time spots, and the show is very inappropiate for children.

I think the stuff in the vaccines that we give our children is horriable. I have one brother with ADHD and another who is autistic. I believe both of these problems could have been prevented if we had a goverenment who cared.

But the tough fact is the government doesnt care about us. They could care less as long as they keep raking in the tax dollars and keeping gaining more and more world power. Some of you have said to right your congressmen/congresswomen. Do you really think they can stop it? I believe the only thing that will set us straight is divine intervention. Our futures rest in the kids today, and granted there is alot of smart kids and teens who are observing what is really going, this is a hell of alot more that aimless spend all day staying at a screen.(more to come)

For those of you that are interested in what our officials are doing with our tax dollars, here's a little peek. According to wrmea.com between the years of 1949 thru 1997 $74,157,600,000. in foreign aid grants & loans was given to israel, another $9,047,227,200. in other aid was given to israel, interest to israel from advanced payments $1,650,000,000. grand total $84,854,827,200. given to israel in less than 50 years. Total benefits per israeli $14,630. Cost to U.S. taxpayers $84,854,827,200. in aid given to israel + $134,791,587,200 in interest borne by U.S. Total Cost to U.S. taxpayers $134,791,587,200. total tax payer cost per israeli $23,240. I'm not understanding something here, why are we paying $23,240 in aid per israeli when they are only receiving $14,630 per israeli? We're paying $8,610 in interest per person to give them aid ? Does that seem crazy to anyone besides me? Wonder why our national deficit is so high? According to IMEA (institute for Middle East Understanding) The U.S. gives economic aid directly to the israeli goverment, rather than allocating funds for specific projects, this means that israel is not required to account how the funds are used. The U,S, gives aid to israel in one lump payment during the first thirty days of the fiscal year, rather than in quarterly installments as is the case with other countries. U.S. aid officials estimate a cost of between $50 million and $60 millin a year to borrow funds for israel's early lump sum payment. So with the economic shape that our country is in, we pay interest because we "borrow" money to give to ANOTHER country???? Some of the money that we give them is in the form of "loans" See a grant they wouldn't have to pay back, but there are stipulations that come with a grant, like we oversee what they do with the money for weapons, and the israeli's don't want us looking over thier shoulders at what they do with the money that we gave them, so what do we do? We give them the money in the form of a loan that has to be paid back, but has no stipulations, and then my friends we WAIVE THE LOAN ! So they have now been given a grant without any stipulations, because we call it a "loan" so as not to raise any eyebrows. According to The Independent when Bush came into office in 2001 the U.S. spent $1.4 billion a year on aid to africa. By 2006 the figures had quadrupled to $5.6 billion a year. His Presidents Emergency Plan For Aids Relief (Pepfar) launched in 2003 is a five year $15 billion programme. He has proposed to double that to $30 billion. The programs emphasis is on abstinence & monogamy rather than supplying condoms to prevent the disease. Now i have no problem helping those in need. However i do have a problem with our elected officials giving OUR money away without consulting us about it first. I also have a problem with them giving OUR money to other countries while we have over 700,000 homeless in America, millions of children that go to sleep hungry every night in this country, countless people that can't afford medical treatment, etc. Yet we sit back and let them do it year after year after year, we say nothing. How DARE they give away our money to others when they can't even take care of us. So for those of you that have or know children that go hungry, and those of you that are facing the prospect of being homeless, or those of you that just care about your fellow Americans i think the time has come for us to stop sitting back while they give away OUR hard earned money. We have been quite for far too long, it is time that we stand up and let our voices be heard!

Excellent thread sizzle! There is so much to respond to and I tend to get overwhelmed with so much info.

First Off Topic: If you are having problems with your post, try writing them on a word processor first, then cut and paste. I do it all of the time and haven’t had a problem with any of my posts.

Second On Topic: I’m afraid, as others have said that it is much too late to change the course. The secret societies that rule our world are in control and they’re not letting go. I remember where I was when I heard about the death of our president. I was sitting in my fifth grade class room when my teacher tearfully told us why we were being released early. I remember more tears being shed that day than any other. I truly believe that the death of Kennedy was the death of our freedoms.

Sorry that my last post was just one gigantic paragraph, i tried to seperate the paragraphs several times it just wouldn't work. By the way i got all that information by entering Aid given to other countries by America on my google search and reading through all the results. There is much more information in those results you may want to google it yourself. Another interesting thing that was in there was the fact that Bush seems to have become mighty concerned about Africa and so does the president of China as he has visited Africa two times since Bush's last visit there. Kinda makes ya wonder what's really goin on doesn't it
. Someone was posting last night and they were talking about the nwo plans and America & China's ties to it, competing for the throne so to say. I'm sorry i can't seem to remember who posted that right now , go back and take a look though it's not hard to find, he was talking about boycotting walmart. Had i not read his post i probably would not have even paid attention to what was said about China's president's interest in Africa. So thanks for the info in your post.

I greatly appreciate your contributions here on this thread.
I do intend to look into the links you have provided.
I understand why some are without hope at this point. But in looking back, this nation has done mighty things. And I credit it to THE PEOPLE.
I know that you are a person of faith and sometimes it is easy to lose heart in the face of so much loss and destruction.
But this is a time for us to gather our inner strengths, and NOT roll over and play dead. If we do, we are surely, lost.
Edit:Not to derail my own topic, but if you need a boost in faith building; no matter if you are a religiuos or non-religious type person. Skyfloating has an excellent thread on 'The Laws of Attraction.' They are based on the laws of the universe and they work, no matter what your belief background is.

the usa government and its institutions might not be perfect but what you do have beats by a long shot the present government in burma--------their government is so fearfull of losing power if they let the food agencies in to provide relief for their people, a week after the cyclone devastated their country, that they are keeping them out and have impounded any food that did get in.

they would sooner commit genocide against their own rather than take a chance on losing their government pensions ?

at least the usa and some other countries care enough about burmese citizens that they are close at hand and prepared to help------if allowed.

I can't help but reminisce about a certain disaster, not so long ago, within our own shores(Katrina); Our guv stood by and did nothing while thousands suffered and died. Why do they always rush to look like the 'Good Guys' when it comes to Foreign Aid, in countries that do NOT want our help?
This puzzles me to no end!

And while I am ranting; Since this country, obviously does not want our help, why doesn't the guv force some of that help on it's own citizens?
The seniors and disabled and unemployed who are devastated at the high prices in the grocery and at the pump and how they will make ends meet. I, for one would love some of that forced help.

Sizzle I haven’t lost heart, I’m preparing. I’m a realist and I believe that these things are simply a symptom of the cancer that is eating the world. The middle class is being squeezed out of existence. Soon there will be nothing left but the rich and the poor. Guess who’ll be in charge? Here’s a hint, they already are.

The situations in Burma and Lebanon are just more symptoms. New Orleans was a test run. Yet most people are so over worked and overstressed that they don’t have the energy to have a clue. I see what is on the horizon, I’m preparing.

I was just watching a segment on A & E TV, that hinted that The Mob brought about the deaths of John and Bobby Kennedy. They also mentioned pressure put upon the Mob's attorney to wear a wire in order to gather evidence against the mob.

Pardon me if I am wrong, but before the enactment of the Patriot Act, weren't people protected under client/attorney privileges? Would this evidence have been legal if the attorney had cooperated (which he did not). And since he did not, the IRS attacked him with charges and had him imprisoned. Hmmmm.

As of yesterday, I had started to post info on UFO's. Some of you might wonder what importance that subject holds in this thread.
Personally, I think that the subject is one of great signifigance, no matter whether you believe the objects to be of extra-terrestrial origin or earthly origin. Ufo's have had a tremendous impact on our society. We have a vast amount of reports of personal abductions, cattle mutilations, crop circles, etc. The big question is; Are they linked and are they of extra-terrestrial origin? This controversy has divided our nation.

We have had several presidents and a few other political figures who not only have had personal sightings, but have promised the American public that there would be disclosure on the truth of UFO's.

As of yet we have not gotten it. I have posted one link to a video that has a lot of facts concerning the objects. As the day progresses, I will provide some more timely info that will help you decide what you think about these objects. And maybe not. For some, this subject is beyond believability.

EDIT: I wish to invite those of you who will, to insert any knowledge that you might have, on this subject. Mods included.

as much as you might want to try make sense out of why the government does some illogical things------you never will---as per new orleans verses burma?

my 35 years of working for feds and what you see is higher management public servants that have the "gift of gab" but not too much common sense?

it seems to be a favourite pass time(a game? ) to try force a square peg in a round hole.

for example #1------if a subordinate is lazy and unproductive they try to make them work and promote them to positions they are incompetent in accomplishing the tasks required in that field.

if a person is interested in working and smart--------they are held back and frustrated------obstacles thrown in their way and ridicule-------unless---- you kiss the boss's butt and lie by telling everyone what a smart intelligent superior you have?

i had 2 -----out of many other bosses tell me in a moment of "weakness" that they would do the first example #1 i gave------just for a laugh-------and would also purposely#2 put 2 people together that they knew didn't/wouldn't get along with each other--------just to watch the sparks fly !
the waste of taxpayers money under "normal" circumstances by government officials is just incredible
