Although I am not a mod I would have thought it completely obvious that linking 'demonic spells' is not and never was a crime, nor against the ATS rules. Just because you believe that these 'spells' are 'evil' that does not mean that they ARE....it just means that they offend YOU personally.

FYI: ATS rules were not created by the gods. They can be updated by the owners / lawyers at any given time

I also know that those spells are not illegal as per US Federal Law. Nevertheless I'm just curious to know what the owners think about it. It's that simple.

My position is clear. I don't want to see a link to those demonic spells on ATS. It's irresponsible and ethically wrong. "We just provide server space" doesn't cut it for me.

I'm aware that ATS is a site for paranormal topics and I strongly agree that these subjects need to be discussed freely. My plea is not for censorship, but banning of "demonic" advertisement.

Sincerely,

N

Good luck with that venture mate, but be assured that just because you view something as being 'demonic' doesn't necessarily mean that others do - hence the 'different ideologies and beliefs' section of my previous post.

I am friends with a so-called 'white witch' and while I confess I don't believe in that sort of thing, I also do not see anything wrong with it. If people wish to believe in 'spellcasting' then that is their right as a human being - it should not be for you nor the owners of ATS to decide otherwise.

Ummm....that is censorship mate, to the letter.

No offence but you are barking up the wrong tree here.

You are entitled to your view, I have mine.

I have yet to hear from any of the owners ...

All the best,

Why exactly?

Again, it comes down to your personal beliefs. YOU might think that it is irresponsible and ethically wrong, but the next person might think the whole idea of spells is poppycock therefore placing it into the realm of fiction therefore negating any non-ethical or irresponsible behaviour you may think has been perpetrated.

It just seems to me like you have a hardline religious attitude and are trying to push it onto everyone else.

Kryties,

I'm not a Christian, but I highly respect the teachings of Jesus Christ. I've been accused of being a Christian because of my view on sorcery and spells too many times. It's not even funny anymore. People just assume too much and try to fit everything into pre-conceived labels.

Look, I accept that you don't believe in those spells. That's all fine, except for the fact that they do work. I'm concerned about people getting burned with this. It's worse than a four-year-old playing with fire. The scars will last a lifetime.

Anyway, thank you for taking your time to respond to me.

Never ever, in all my years on this Earth, have I ever seen any evidence at all to suggest that 'spells' work. From my standpoint you are one person saying this and expecting that everyone else will agree. Well, hate to burst that bubble but many of us don't agree.

Demanding answers from the owners of ATS on this, when the subject has already been adequately explained to you by members and mods, will get you nowhere fast I can assure you.

Anyway, thank you for taking your time to respond to me.

My pleasure.

I speak from personal experience when I make a statement re spells.

Again, re-read my post. It's fine with me when you think it's all just hot air

I've seen Springer jump in on subjects that are a lot more "minor" than this.

Yeah, I figured that one out all by myself

Personal experience proves nothing if you have no evidence to back it up i.e. video, photo's etc. To me you could have just interpreted whatever you experienced as being something that could be logically explained away.

It's fine with me when you think it's all just hot air

I do yes, I will not deny that. But the issue here is the fact that you are demanding answers for something YOU deem to be morally wrong, yet OTHERS do not - and you cannot seem to understand that your opinion is just one of many.

Ever heard of free will?

By censoring the ability for a member to proceed with his/her life lessons is more control and lessens the ability for one to learn.

Lot's of things I don't like, but I don't have to click on any link I might be offended by, while at the same time I have an opportunity to explore things that might enhance my growth, be it to indulge in such or to deny such.

By limiting the availability it takes the power from the individual and says "Save me from myself" is that what you think your god wants for you? To protect you from all possible harm? No, my friend, you ate from the tree, now it is up to you to discern.

No one can do that for you and by limiting your choices your potential growth is also limited.

Your assumptions are wrong. You're mistaken about my religious belief. God has nothing to do with it. I simply don't want other people to get burned by spells / sorcery. Why is that so hard to understand?

Life lessons and free will ... Would you let a four-year-old play with scissors or fire? Would you just stand by and watch? I already hear you say that sorcery is harmless. Well, I obviously don't agree with you there, but you're certainly entitled to have your opinion. I have mine.

I'm still waiting with bated breath to hear from one of the owners ;-)

All the best,

N

But it's their choice?

I don't want people dying of overdoses or alcohol poisoning or whilst rock-climbing or free-diving... funnily enough....it's not my life, it's theirs.

Leave them to it mate... seriously, it's not worth arguing about

What is so hard to understand about the fact that many people do not believe spells work? What is so hard to understand about the fact that given so many people do not think they work that it is not an issue unless you, or someone else, can provide ABSOLUTE VERIFIABLE PROOF that they work and that they are DANGEROUS???

Good, so you are in agreement that many people do not think spells work, or even exist. SO you have answered your own question about why the owners allow it to be linked on this site.

I'm still waiting with bated breath to hear from one of the owners ;-)

I can tell you right now there is a reason for the owners silence on this issue and it has something to do with the fact that

1. They believe your question has already been answered multiple times and...

2. They believe not enough evidence exists to verify the use and existance of 'spells' and 'demonic powers' and any effectiveness they might have and therefore see no reason to ban it - they would probably put it in Skunkworks though.

I suspect there is a legal issue why the owners don't want to respond to my question. Me thinks

Are ATS servers on US soil?

If you are so up in arms about this, why not u2u SkepticOverlord or Springer about it.

Might get your answer quicker that way since you seem to be in such a hurry.
