Can members not get a U2U informing them every time a new ATS News becomes available ?
The same thing was never done for the AP Show in fact I only just stumbled across the latest addition of that podcast from the start of the month .

Cheers xpert11 .

Hey all , is anyone aware of any issues with ATS media?

I uploaded a video, and the option to embed etc isn't there, just the link (kind of useless as I could have just linked the original source!).

Also for the life of me I cannot see a "Delete" option, as I uploaded twice to see if it worked a second time(it didn't).

If there's anyone about I'd be much obliged for some advice!

All the best, Kiwifoot!

EDIT. OK I found out how to delete! But I still can't embed the video, I've done it before and my older vids have 4/5 options of things to go with them, this just has video url!!

Is it the "TRACY ufo 2010" video?

That video is not a in FLV format, it's a MPG video, maybe that's why the embedding option does not work.

But I think that the video should have been converted to FLV, I thought that was the normal process.

Yeah that's the one, I ended up uploading to YT!

I had a hunch it had to do with that!

I thought that it automatically gets converted to FLV (like you say)

Strange, thanks for the reply mate!

All the best Kiwifoot!

G'day mods

Here's a question for your consideration.

During the past couple of days, I've gone back to check on 2 threads.

The first was the thread in the UFO & Aliens forum wherein Michael Horn started posting again.

The second was the thread regarding the "sound bomb" going off in Iran.

Both of those threads have been deleted / consigned to "dimension 404".

I'm thinking it could be useful to be able to access some sort of very brief explanation of why this is done to a thread.

e.g. "We canned this thread because Michael Horn was getting out of control & soliciting business again"

I wrote this whilst wondering why the "sound bomb" thread is now in "dimension 404".

Kind regards
Maybe...maybe not.

im hoping in this thread you can ask any question and get an answer. theres this group of people or a religion that has these scrolls that supposedly tell the future of a certain number of people. i believe they are from the middle-east i could be wrong though, does anyone know the names of the scrolls or the people that have them??

OK, what's the deal with the U2U problem?

Can anyone give an update? It's clear the staff here are aware of the problem, as one mod commented that he'd alerted a tech savvy mod in my original thread on the issue, and another mod referred another user to that comment in my thread, and a third mod kindly deleted my thread without explanation. Springer has been by to mention the annoyance of people complaining.

Meanwhile, a couple of weeks have gone by and not one single staffer has bothered to post any information, ask any questions, or even post an update to say that they're looking into it.

What gives?

As a member of ATS, I did find it uncomfortable at times that a thread I participated in was suddenly removed. But what it boils down to is the simple policy that ATS has is that issues between the staff and a member remain private and strictly between the two. This covers trashed threads. Sometimes reasons are overt and clear, sometimes they are not.

But the staff of ATS does ask that you afford the benefit of the doubt on such issues.

If you feel inclined, reach out to a staff member concerning the thread to see "what" happened. We can tell you if it was intentionally removed from the board or any other outcome that is possible. But what we won't disclose is why.

If an issue arises with you, it remains private and no other member is privy to the circumstances surrounding it.

This thread is for issues related to ATS. It would be best to start a thread in order to ask this type of question. In order to start a new thread, you need 20 posts to do so. This is very very easy to do here

Welcome to ATS and enjoy your time here!

What problem are you having with u2u's?

u2u me if you wish or inform me here. If there is anything I can help you with, I'd be happy to assist.

Are you being serious?

The problem that a number of us are having - detailed in my inexplicably deleted thread, as well as in the previous 5 pages of this thread, is that we have no access to U2Us.

So your suggestion that I might just drop you a U2U to help sort out the problem might not be the most useful or tactful one...

Clicking on the U2U link, using a direct path, or using the drop-down link under "member tools" re-directs us to the forum index page.

We cannot access U2Us, account settings, member store, change password/email, or submit suggestion - all of those re-direct to the index page.

The problem emerged for me around the beginning of January. I have no issues with any other webpage. Nothing on my browser has changed - meaning I have not made any odd changes to the settings over the past couple of years. I upgraded my browser (firefox) when I was troubleshooting this problem on my end. I also cleared all ATS cookies.

We have a staff of over 50+ people and we deal with hundreds of issues a day. So please be a little more patient when you receive an immediate response from someone trying to help you.

The issue you speak of is definitely more than I can assist you with.

I'll alert this issue to SkepticOverlord and have him look at it, if it hasn't already been brought to his attention.

Hang on.

A little more patient? Immediate response?

I've been trying to get someone's attention on this for WEEKS. I've been largely ignored by staff - and as far as I can tell, so have the other posters with this problem. That said, I've been about as patient as I'm likely to get. As for the immediacy of your response...

Lets call it 500 issues a day that your 50+ staff deal with.

Thats only 10 a day each.

1 per hour per staff member per average (say 10 hour) day.

Simple mathmatics using your own figures....

Now you try.

I have a small issue im curious about which I mentioned already on this thread but I assume it got overlooked as there was alot of posts around the time of posting so I’ll post it again in the hope that someone will see it this time.

It’s not so much a problem but more of an inconvenience but im curious as to why it’s happening.

Ever since I joined the amount of threads that I have made has been different to the amount shown.

Here I have 19 threads posted by me

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/06b6cbca5e7d.jpg[/atsimg]

Here It says i have made 27 (when i first joined and made a my first thread it came up as i had made 2)

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/1a233c415e30.jpg[/atsimg]

Different see, Like I said its nothing major at all just a bit annoying and I’m just curious why that’s happening.

Threads started includes both alerts and complaints, each alert/complaint creates a new thread in the staff (complaint) forum.

Hope this helps.
