John Titor Prediction 2008 Olympics in China Cancelled - Comes True?

I have never replied to many posts despite watching ATS grow from an information source to the Above network by keeping at least a weekly eye on things here.

"John Titor" has always interested and yet baffled me - to want to ask more questions. For which I am sure we all have.

The topic at hand is one I wanted to reply to, because having seen the violence as well as had some very vocal discussions regarding the Beijing Olympics.

It is very possible they will be called off seeing the passion in these people for pressure not to send our athletes to China because of Human Rights violations against the Tibetans, as well as their own people forced like chain gangs and paid virtually nothing to complete the locations and venues in time.

They also as well other opinion-ists (if such a word exists, my apologies if it does not) from those who want to extinguish the flame. My personal conversations started with a man shouting in Nottinghams Old Market Square with a huge sign fitting in with those close to him selling "The Socialist" Newspaper but clearly not with them as they were annoyed by him as he kept referring to them. His arguements were that the United Kingdom should extinguish the flame whilst in our country as a statement of symbolism that we resent China for their actions (for all purposes I empathize his plight) but I asked him What he would do if the Flame came through Nottingham or somewhere he can get to his response was one of anger towards the carrier that he or she doesn't take an responsibility for carrying the symbol and they too should be put to death! He told me of many who feel this way he talks with and they are involved with the protests happening across the country now.

A work colleague who i shall not discriminate against here as I am respectful of others views and faiths he is a Muslim and he says that his priest at Mosque has told them that a Fatwa exists on all who carry the torch. (however I am sure that a Fatwa can only be issued by a high rank cleric of the Muslim sect) My opinion of this it is a ruse to gather a larger fuss rather than an actual Fatwa, however saying that A Sunni-Muslim Fatwa is just that "an opinion".

Having heard and discussed with many people - I can imagine the Stage of the Olympics used perhaps for backstage leverage for whose benefit I am not sure. The Olympics are an important if not the most important plateau for us as a global community to share, compete and enjoy the grandest stage our race has to offer.
If the Olympics are ground to a halt by either - the extinguishing of the flame which considering the violence here is highly likely it has a long way yet to travel.
- potential groups or organizations holding it to random which has to be considered.
- global movement of another war
- to many countries backing out in defiance of Chinas actions against Tibet.

What will this do, this is - apart from the United Nations meetings of politicans the only time people from all over come together in a joint effort for the greater good.
Future generations will suffer greatly, anarchy will strike if it doesn't go ahead. (in the same hand anarchy is raging that is going ahead.) Anger will be global not just from those in political circles but those at home watching, those who have been involved in sports at what ever level, those who are competing, those who are going to Beijing. and everybody connecting with the Olympics.

For the greater level of human kind, I hope the Olympics do go ahead. It just what are we going to do about China...

And if John Titor is proved correct - which in the time he posted this information, there was no reason for it not to be called off.
John Titors information ought to be examined again, to take heed of the warnings he foretold (or is that reminisce is his mind as it happened in the past to him.)

About an hour ago Mrs Clinton called on President Bush to boycott the Olympics. This could, as always, become a political hotbed for controversy since if there is no boycott, there sure as hell will be some type of revoilutionary/terror attack during the games that will make MUnich look like Sesame street.

JT is an interesting angle, and I have never discounted it as hoax against better judgment as I feel that many of the 'UFO's" that are seen may actually be crude time travel devices from the future. Why not? Maybe technology is now growing in the future which is why we now see so many. Bobs discount travel...ever seen Family Guy

Seriuosly though, the talk of Condi pairing with an older candidate with people still in the background is a good theory that is also lending itself to the JT prophecy. Time will tell...

But now over time we can see that Titor was either a complete fraud or his future was along a different time-line and hence we are not experiencing what he did in his Time-line.

I can find no other explanation for his incorrectness other than his Time-Line was different than ours.

Since I have to stick to facts... the facts are this guy was plan wrong most of the time and therefore there is absolutely no credibility to any of his claims.... even the ones that he, by chance, got correct!

There were so many different ways he could have PROVEN without a shadow of doubt that he was a time traveler and he wouldn't. If he wanted us to believe him that badly I think he would have went to any length to prove himself to us.

I assume that if they are cancelled, Titor will be a hero for getting it right.

Well. If you believe guys like Dan Burisch and follow what he's said.
There are either along a different timeline now. or soon will be.
it's completely possible that we are in the different timeline now and that we've mitigated some of the bad things that would of come to pass.

Good point made, I'll be honest, this thread has not been extensively back researched like some of my other threads, John Titor information I have read awhile back (his posts and his predictions, statements etc) but I have not tried to aggressively debunk his story per se. I do find the story interesting, and some of our history, current events possibly flowing in the direction that Titor stated in 2000-2001.

Yes wiki is a bad place for sources, but it is also a good place for raw facts or the neutral line for opinions based on those facts. Or perhaps it leans a certain way and is not neutral, I don't know. Any case, thanks for pointing out the wiki 5100 information and alt. viewpoint.

If John's prediction of the 2008 Olympics comes true I still won't believe in him, I can write out a thousand predictions between now and 2050 and theoretically I’d have to get ONE right, even if it’s only close to my prediction.
He said no Olympics after 2004, we saw 2006. And if this one is canceled will we see 2010 and 2012? Who knows?

Wow Foster... that was beautiful... exactly what I was trying to say. I guess the next thing would be to show all of Titor's predictions and show how wrong it is to even think this guy is the real thing. I hate giving this guy the time of day because I bet he is just sitting back and laughing at all of us for giving him any credibility whatsoever.

I did go to the Titor homepage and it said the civil war would take a few years to become apparent... well, if it was to begin in 2004 I think by 2008 we would be seeing it. I mean how long did it take for THE Civil war in the 1800's to begin? Did it slowly build up?

Well, in the vague assumptions regarding time travel, there are countless time lines. John Titor has claimed to have traveled back to the 70s but that should have been in HIS TIME LINE, not ours! As you know it is impossible to travel back and forth on the same time line. So in his time, though changes are subtle, the Olympics are cancelled in 2008. But NOT in OUR time line.

If you could travel back in the same time line from where you actually progressed forward, someone could have fatally mugged your grandfather and therefore you could not have been here!! And that’s impossible!

So in our time line, it’s most probable that the Olympics will be conducted as scheduled, but would probably have some hiccups. There is a possibility that adjacent timelines overlap to a certain degree and therefore affect the other in subtle ways. Therefore, there could be a few problems with the Olympics which may not be cancelled outright!

But then you would ask how come he’s arrived on OUR time line to give the info? He should have traveled back to the year 2000 in HIS time line, not ours!

So is John Titor a figment of the imagination? Most likely yes! Because he shouldn’t be here! Q.E.D!

In other areas, the news about protests and trying to extinguish the Olympic flame is intriguing, I'll have to follow this up (I just woke up )

I don't seem to remember the flame being extinguished in the past before due to protest, anyone? Also what impact does this have on the actual Olympics, "so what the flame was extinguished", or "wow omg the flame was extinguished", which opinion are we on this? The flame is a symbol, symbology is everything, maybe not in our perceived lives AS MUCH, but to our subconscious minds, it is very important.

Add to that the political jockeying around the China/Tibet/Olympics platform and using this as a tool for whichever parties, especially pressuring the current 'regime' into a boycott is also interesting. Gee I am glad I started this thread, at first I didn't want to revive Titor stuff, but at the same time wanted to discuss the current events with respect to Titor's predictions..

He's talking about the April/May, 1993, attack on David Koresh's Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, by the FBI and the ATF. It was big news at the time of Titor's original posts, and created a lot of discussion about the proper use of government firepower in such a situation. But it has obviously faded from much of the public's consciousness since then.

Paris Olympic torch sit-in protest


This is after Paris final leg of the torch (normally walked or run) was CANCELLED due to numerous protest and extinguishing attempts. They then decided to cancel that leg in Paris and transport the flame in a motorcade. \

Whats really the point of a display of the flame if it's a fake display of peace, when at the same time Tibetan violence occurs?

Next stop? San Francisco, should be interesting.

Each and every single time somebody brings up John Titor you do effectively what every hoaxer dreams of:

An everlasting fable that'll boggle some minds for years to come.

Not only has John Titor been off on literally every single minor to major prediction he made the hoaxer was quirky enough to make his claims unfalsifiable. That doesn't help his case.

There's also a plethora of issues with the laser bending image he posted. How is it that the objects around the beam are not distorted? Surely if there's a large enough gravity well/gradient in the area material would be conforming to the laws of physics just the same.

I've heard people speculate that what we're actually seeing is just optic fiber.

It's also untrue to claim the IBM 5100's ability to debug mainframe systems was unknown. At the time when the actual system came out it was WIDELY publicized in the industry. The earliest mention of its ability to do so on the internet can be traced back to 1999.

I don't doubt the interest in the story though. It's well done but not infallible and definitely not true. It's also interesting how the multiple universe/time line theory including M-theory and string theory has been distorted to confirm and make Titor's story even more unfalsifiable. The only thing to go by to debunk his story is the fact that his time line doesn't seem to follow our universes laws of physics.

That can't be if his time line is parallel to our own.

to the people saying he's totally debunked because the 2006 olympics happened, please remember a lot of people don't think of the winter olympics as a prominent event. Then imagine a view point from the future where looking back on a fractured past, the winter olympics are probably something a lot of people skip over. You could probably go out right now and find people who don't even know there are a winter olympics.

Also, from a future view point a civil war could definitely start in '04/'05 and to us we might be blinded by current events to see it. I think what titor was reffering to is the anti-war/anti-police state crowd against the establishment. There is definitely a divide and it is becoming evident right now. I know plenty of people who are already choosing sides, including myself.

Some other intriguing things from the whole titor observation is that he predicted no wmds would be found in Iraq pre-war and pre-911. And if you follow the topic as discussed on coast to coast, the titor family up and moved from Florida to Omaha, the predicted future capital of america and also art bell recieved a fax from someone very similar to titor saying sky scrappers would be missing from new York. This was in 1998, the year titor said he would be traveling back to in 2001.

Its a very interesting topic. I'm quite facinated with the whole thing.

So he comes back to our "time line" to get an antiquated computer in 1975 to work in a computer made in 2046.. his time line so 80 years in the future,,? In a 67-69 vintage vette,, thats a tough one even for me,, maybe he was simply clarvoiant , where the heck he disappeared to,, maybe he ran out of gas on his way back hehe,,,,

I seem to recall that in Titors timeline he intimated that the entire Year 2000 Computer problem (Y2K) event actually did occur and affected computers and changed things from that point on there. He also hinted that timline travels (maybe by him or others) that they somehow changed our timeline, preventing Y2K from happening, thereby changing our timeline from that point onwards w.r.t Titors past.

Also, some had question on the Corvette:

Titor described his time machine as a 'C204 time distortion gravity displacement machine' built by General Electrics in 2034. It weighed approximately 500 pounds and was transported in a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, which also acted as Titor's vessel as he travelled through time. The vehicle did not move through space but remained stationary with the engine switched off.

Besides the American civil conflict and a third World War Titor made a number of other significant predictions:

◘ America will wage war on Iraq, claiming Iraq has nuclear weapons. Titor made this statement years before a war with Iraq was considered. He also claimed no weapons of mass destruction would be found.

◘ War will erupt between Israel and its Arab neighbours, and weapons of mass destruction will be used.

◘ Korea, Taiwan and Japan will be annexed by China as the West becomes unstable.

◘ In the early 2000's CERN will lay the foundations for time travel. In the autumn of 2001 after Titor had left, CERN released a statement indicating the creation of mini black holes was possible.

◘ Mad cow disease will be a health issue in America but it will be under-played.

◘ Genetically modified food will be used to produce hybrid seeds that will have detrimental effects on the population's health.

◘ Titor made a number of statements about constitutional and civil rights in America. He also said the American government will assume its citizens will prefer security over certain personal freedoms.

◘ The future will judge the present harshly.

For those who want to discover the truth for themselves there are a number of websites with archives of Titor's messageboard postings. Perhaps one of the best of these archives is the Abovetopsecret website. If you scratch around the Internet you will come across more and more bits of information about John Titor and you will quickly be able to decide for yourself whether there is any substance to his claims to be a time-traveller.
