You know, we cannot escape the coming economic upheaval. The stock market is sure to lose at least half of its value by September, led by losses in the financial sector due to the credit crisis. If the Fed tries to intervene during another brokerage firm collapse to stop this, it will cause immediate hyper-inflation, as foreign investors and governments lose faith in the US dollar completely, which is already occuring.

You're right. We cannot escape what is about to hit us in the collective face. But if we all work on drawing free energy from the vacuum, we can blunt the blow. Research Wilhelm Reich, Victor Schauberger, Royal Rife, Nikola Tesla, the Joe Cell, Zero Point Energy... Buy what books you can find, and try to build some of the things you find. If we can draw our own energy...

We can build heaven on earth with today's tech.

But time is running short. Net neutrality is slipping from our hands, and when it goes, you won't find the information available.

Is this what they want? I don't know...But if they do not intervene, many investment banks will go under, which will also lead to a very deep recession.

Oh, this is exactly what they want. They have us by the balls.

It seems to me, at this point there is no escape. The plan is already in effect and it cannot be stopped. The only thing we can do now is how to figure out how to survive it.

Very true. And the best option is to expend energy (mental energy, current, currency, physical) to draw energy.

Right now, I'm trying to save as much money as possible and gain as much as I can using careful investing. I'm going this route now instead of the survivalist route, because I feel we still have a few more months (maybe three or four) before things get really bad.

Hedge those funds against inflation and the falling value of the Dollar. But I suspect anything in Dollars is going to be worthless. Actually, anything not fully tangible - as in metals in your hand - will be moot.

Then again, with free energy, money itself becomes moot.

Get into the stock market, and exit right before Judgment Day. That's my plan.

It would be nice if one had money to invest. For me, I just speak out for free energy. It alone would be our salvation.

More power given to the root to I feel all of our problems.....writing to your congress and senate will not do anything for they have been bought out. Its going to take a new revolution a new world order of the new kind one america under one real american government for the people by the people.

The root of all evil is the love of money - over the multitude of spirits on this earth, especially. Yes, the "Democratic" Congress, doing virtually nothing different than the "Republican" Congress before them says much. They stand and hand the power to the plutocrat.

While this development provides me with a guilty little schadenfreude moment it's also mixed with some seriously depressing thoughts at the implications.

I'm willing to bet 99% of the general population is absolutely clueless about what this means or that it's even taking place. Besides, it's not like most would take any form of action anyways.

This is looking very much like it's checkmate for the people.

Sooo strange, as I had the exact same experience with my parents yesterday. Typical conservative boomers but definitely in the process of waking up - we were shocked at how well informed they really are about the state of things.

At first, the conversation seemed as though it wasn't a road they wanted to go down or a topic for polite company, so to speak. And - initially - they only discussed it in a reserved and quiet manner but by the end they were as outraged as my husband and I. We were so shocked.

One big difference, however, is that they had more of an inclination to hunker down and try to ride it out with as little inconvenience to themselves as possible, where as we were more like - "Were do we sign up, and where's our uniforms and where do you want us to stand?

It was certainly a different sort of conversation than we have ever had with them before and quite unexpected. I guarantee, if these cushy well-to-do boomers can get fired up over the course of events in this country, there are millions more like them.

We have got to talk up alternative viewpoints in everyday life if we really want to turn the tide. Don't be afraid to speak out. Ideas are powerful.

Here's a great, new book about the FED.
www.truthaboutmoney.org...
An easy, quick read.
It's up to those of us that know about this subject to inform the rest of the folks out there.
This is important for the future of our country.
Also, Lindsey Williams' book "The Energy Non-Crisis" gives some great insights on the future we face.

Great post - gave you a star!

Despite the fact that we are indeed free to prosper; we ourselves have empowered the keepers of the system to oppress us, regardless of propriety.

There have been some who felt that we could all make our voices heard via the ballot box, unfortunately, the only people listening are the voters. And we have seen numerous very clear indications that the balloting system has been corrupted in a n umber of ways.

There have been those who say - stop paying taxes - well even if you could benefit by doing that all your depriving the system of is fiat currency - as you well know - it has no value other than that which they deign to give it.

Although the money is not 'real' (at least since Nixon allowed the international bankers to raid Fort Knox) - we still have to account for the debt. It's funny that when its in their vaults it represents wealth, when its in ours it's debt.

This is one of those watershed moments in history - knowing we've been PWND - and how it happened - does not bring us any closer to escaping the bank-lawyer's noose.

I fear the establishment of law enforcement power based on financial authority leading to 'debtors prison' and 'indentured servitude' which will reduce my children to serfs for the bank - (which by then will be the government). Once this social shift occurs the only way to undo it will be violence.

And all because we can't seem to eradicate the presence of greed and lust for power within our public service system. The native Americans had it right, the European white man has a disease of the soul - its called ownership.

Here is my opinion, I think the FED is running out of silver bullets and there is a hell of a lot of financial turmoil up ahead. Bernanke and company probably went crying to DC to get some support from Bush and company, and since the government needs their credit to fund the war, it's either play ball or go back inside for the Bush presidency.

Here is a tasty pretzel from the head economist at Fredie Mac

how's life treating ya?

There is nothing in there that is a reason to start being bullish. NB the spreads on jumbo mortgages - it shows what happens in the credit markets when we’re talking of just banks and no GSE’s like Freddie/Fannie.

Now, to that report, add on the $1.1 trillion in HELOC’s that are being frozen (Citi has clamped down on their HELOC’s this week) and you have a terrific amount of credit that is being pulled out of the consumers’ pockets this year. There is many more problems that I didn't mention which are just piling up on the Feds desk, and I'm pretty sure you already know about like the housing market. That sector is just beyound cruddy, I mean just horrible! Couldn't be worse. Their recovery is not in sight for at least a year dead minimum, being totally optimistic. And the last housing downturn how many homeys went BK? Half of them? We haven't even seen one (of the majors)! How about retailers? Just this past week Tiffanny's numbers were on a fake rally. Tiffanys. What a joke. As if they are anything remotely to guage the consumer market on these days. Talk about wall street grasping at straws. They have become like any other watered down franchised luxury brand and the majority of their sales were from europeans coming to NYC in an orgasmic state over the current euro/dollar rate. They said it loud and clear during their earings statement.

Anyway, I'm not happy with the markets right now, they are costing me a lot, and if they continue like this in the doggiest days of summer I could see the market lose DJ 11K, but I'd be very, very wary of being short in that hole.

"The proposal would designate the Fed as the primary regulator of market stability, greatly expanding the central bank's ability to examine not just commercial banks but all segments of the financial services industry."

I didn't realize federal Bank didn't have control of ALL the financial industry. Judging by the way they behave and profit trillions of dollars in the past hundred years I wonder what segment of economy they don't have access to?
Obviously they needed just another legislation to give them complete command of the entire economy and Peoples lives.
This is not example of authoritarian regime but totalitarian to the extreme!
I remember times when President of USA would make a decisions of his and for the good of an Nation he represented! Notably President Kennedy. Probably only honest President ever since founding fathers.
Of course he was punished for even contemplating of waging a war on the evil running federal bank and almost all aspects of US economy and decisions behind every war that USA was forced into.
How to cut the head of this Hydra? What can be done?
Obviously Senate, Congress and a white house is far to corrupt and doesn't have a will power any more.
Can People walk out in millions on the streets and overthrow those Nazi and install Dr. Ron Paul (lets say for the sake of arguments) or does it have to go bloody before any changes are made?
Also, internet is perfect for organizing this type of event in shortest period of time. Date and time can be set, People would cast their vote and see if there is enough of us interested to do it.
Million People would be able to this and judging by the overwhelming responses in the favor of massive change I think there is a good chance that event like that can be organized and walk on Washington would wake up the rest of the sleepy Americans in process.
This would have to be done before they pass the bill to control the internet, otherwise spreading news by a word of mouth would take a lot of time.
As Dr. Ron Paul said: In the first week in the office I would abolish federal bank, IRS and income tax and replace it with NOTHING.

I have given some thought to the possibility of using the internet as a potential tool for an organized response to current developments but consider:

I want to determine the difference between:

- trying to head a bad decision off at the pass, to 'cry wolf' regarding a series of events which might lead to a catastrophe (all this from a 'simple' citizen's perspective), and

- trying to directly resist the purposeful execution of a plan to undermine the collective understanding and thus 'will' of a nation - to secure an objective which may not be clearly understood.

First off - we know that the body of the government has been effectively usurped - regardless of potential complicity or outright innocent ignorance, the political body as such may not as well exist. They are effectively embroiled in matters that remove them from being of any potential use towards discovery or action. Even sentinel politicians and citizens like Nader, Perot, LaRouche, and Dr Paul (as fond of him as I am) are essentially powerless to take meaningful action towards ending this abusive financial manipulation.

Second - the means of disclosure and public review is highly suspect in that control of the dissemination of information has been relinquished to controllers that can not be trusted to be free of 'intent.'

Third - Any mediums available to use for coordinative efforts are being monitored and have been preemptively staged for prosecutorial use. With the 'tacit' acceptance of the axioms expounded in the Homegrown Terrorism Act; it is clear that any activity which can be considered to threaten the 'status quo' can, and probably will, be considered seditious and criminal.

To say that any activity we could potentially promote herein maybe criminal might be a bit paranoid, but if what is happening is actually the result of an intelligently applied plan, we would be making it all the easier for them to put an end to our activities (assuming we represented a threat - which is doubtful anyway.)

Fourth - Due to the 'fear factor' injected into our culture, all the tools required to ratchet up 'civil authority' are in place, and assuming the military will maintain it's mandate of obedience to the command structure currently in place, they will be compelled (much like the police) to control the citizens 'for our own good' and that WILL mean - silencing or sequestering those who are 'trouble makers.'

Fifth - We are about to see a new financial 'police' authority. This has the potential to make even the slightest 'financial' misstep a crime. (I remember long ago my mom having to make a partial bill payment to one creditor so as to be able to make at least a partial payment to the other - this could be considered criminal since credit organizations are now clearly 'super-citizens' whose well-being supersedes all others.)

I think it must be considered that the importance of the 'action' taken be 'on target'. To call for intercession without considering 'who' will intercede is as reckless as not doing anything at all. If we approach this event incorrectly we will be wasting time. Is this a conspiracy or an unfortunate series of events? If it is a conspiracy - who are the executors? Can they be directly confronted or resisted? What is their true purpose? Whom to they serve, and why?

So far all I have is a lot of theoretical questions. I'm considerable confused about what 'the people' can actually 'do' about this.

Excellent post btw!
So, what can we do then? Aren't we allowed to go on a peaceful protests if we think that government an law has taken a wrong turn?
If they are able to stop any peaceful protests on a basis of "anti terrorist law" then we have no choice but to rebel another way. I really don't see another way out!
Something has to be done extremely fast because these war mongers are abut to attack YET ANOTHER country that has done absolutely nothing to the US in any way.
Certainly israel seems to have an issue with them and is using US as their pit bulls rather then trying anything themselfs. Aren't they brave ones?

So, either People have a right to assemble and protest which would be preferable or they actually have a "right" to break any strikes and protests?
Either way, they have to go down. Sooner the better.
Any good ideas how to use internet to gather People behind good and noble cause in a nice manner and to arrange a date when everyone would come out and assemble outside white house, demand impeachments and restore the Constitution a it was?
I am not American but you have my full support and I would do my utmost to help in any manner possible.
Internet is the way to go as far as I can see. V for Vendeta has a nice ideas as to how to fight just this kind of corrupt regime.
United in a march is the only way and police would not dare to shoot at the civilians because they are us. They are part of our world and when brown stuff hits the fan lots of them would change the stripes.
If oppression happens then it is obvious. They would open the Pandora box and nothing short of French revolution on steroids would satisfy angry masses.
Law is on their side. They elected that baboon twice as a puppet but they have to be brought down.
Corruption is so wide spread that it is worse than a Cancer.

The plan would abolish some institutions such as the Office of Thrift Supervision and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission... ...The powers of the Securities and Exchange Commission would go into a super agency responsible for business conduct and consumer protection.

SEC buddies that "investiagated" Dubya's pathetic Harken Energy are becoming an all powerful agency under this plan?
Why not just abolish the Government Oversight Committee while you're at it? Oh that's right because "None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free." Thank you Mr. Goethe.

They are smiling and shaking our hand with their right and stabbing us in the back with their left. It will pass you know. We have 3 branches of gubmint who are treacherous, spineless, greedy whores. They have been very careful about making their steps as incremental as possible as that keeps up the illusion the best. Lately they are lumbering forward. Perhaps they have realized the back of the American people is broken and there is no need any longer to keep the illusion going as the people's will is crushed and they will meet no real resistance. Pockets of resistance will only help their cause because they can demonize the "fringe" and consolidate the whole even more. It's a near perfectly laid plan.

What is it going to take to wake up???

Georgey has basically just given the United States away completely. We will no longer have ANY freedoms. The Bush family took one of the most powerfull nations in the world and turned it over on it's ass. The worst part is I love my country, and used to be that we actually used to make things, and have some PRIDE. Now, we buy from HONG KONG, and TIAWAN, and MEXICO, what is made in this country any more??? Oh yes, broke people. Home of the most back stabbing senate since the one that stabbed Ceasar.

We need to destroy the FED. The constitution was made to protect us. We NEED to stand up for ourselves. Get educated and learn what they are really saying on the news. We have been screwed ROYALY!!!!

The Fed will if not does own every last square inch of the United States. They are gonna kill the dollar, make a new monetary system, ( the Amero ), Foreclose, and sieze your cars, and homes. Don't believe me read the public notices in your local us paper. Full of foreclosures. The Fed will then sell our country piece by piece, home by home. They don't care if we are Americans they care about their property. Which is THE US DOLLAR.

OUR COUNTRY JUST DIED in my humble, disgusted, and horrified oppinion.

Just wanna wish Good Luck or Tidings to every one in the world who uses our once all powerfull dollar!

I'm not sure that's a very helpful observation at this point. But I wouldn't presume to debate 'worst' presidents, since all we really know about them is what the media has told us (for the most part anyway). Form a certain perspective, most of them sucked wind (I know, Clinton didn't inhale
)

I'm very surprised no one remembers all the warnings numerous presidents and officials made regarding the Fed and industrial/corporate power grabs over the years. Go figure.
