I think it looks biological in origin. It could be a petrified tree or plant of some sort.

Although rocks can take all sorts of shapes, given the surrounding terrain, I genuinely suspect a biological origin for this 'item of interest', and would bet on petrified plant life of some kind.

It resembles a humanoid. However, we will never know for sure because this picture has been tampered with. How to tell? Well, look at the rocks before, beside, and behind the figure. They are in focus! Now look at the figure, see how blurred it is? As if it was being erased? That is evidence of NASA tampering! NASA wants us to see rocks and shadows, not humanoids on MARS! No wonder to some it looks like a ghost! Because that is the intention!

Yeah, it does seem to look something like that. A lot of the rocks are positioned as if this location could have been a lake at one time. If it is a petrified tree stump of some sort, then it could have been like a tree at the water's edge. At the same time, many of the rocks seem to look like they were cut with tools and maybe used in a building nearby. That's just my interpretation.

This post really shows how powerful the human mind can be. I cant help be notice that it is just a rock. I see what everyone is talking about, but the best way to describe it would be like those "magic eye" pictures that were so popular like 10 years ago. Now that I can see the rock with its shadows, its really hard to not see it. It may look like a figure, but try and blur your eyes and refocus on it... its just a rock!

I'm not sure what the rest of you see.....
but,
I'm not sure if I got this quote right: "not everything that is longer than it is wide is a penis". Freud
I want all to know that their efforts at blowing the lid off of secrecy is appreciated by everybody on ATS (I hope) but,
I'm just sayin'
Keep trying, and sooner rather than later.

If this figure was just a rock it would be in focus just as the other rocks. How can it be in the middle of rocks that are in focus and not be in focus itself? When I import this pic into photoshop and apply the filter edges, then increase the contrast, this is what I get (i275.photobucket.com...). I may be wrong, but to me this makes this a solid object and not shadow! Now compare the two pics (i275.photobucket.com...). I suppose to extract images like these from confusing backgrounds, one has to have some type of training in photomicography or some similar discipline. Some people who only see rocks I suppose would not make good analysts in the field of aerial reconaissance.

It is clearly the shadow of the rock..

Its not that hard to figure out..

No "humanoids" or "alienz"... just a shadow..

I'm sorry guys. I'm a believer that Mars did have life, and may still. However, even this is a bit of a stretch for me.

To me, it's clearly a rock. If you look, the shadows are perfect. The contours are perfect. It's just shadow play from the side of the rock.

Bet it has to be one of the best shadows I've seen!

Yeah, this is, with 100% certainty, the shadow side of that rock. You can see the shadow fading from dark to lighter towards the part where the Sun is shining on, and the "arm" is just a crack in the rock.

I honestly do not see a figure here. I think this is a case of some people wanting to see something where something is not.

It is in focus. It's only "blurry" if you're trying to see a humanoid figure. If you'd stop looking at the dark shape so much and focus on the rock it's attached to you'd see that. The shadow is a little weird looking because of the contour of the side of the rock and the angle that the sunlight is hitting it from.

Well we'd still make better ones than some people who can't see things for what they are because they're too blinded by what they want them to be.

Perfctley willing to accept "rock shadows" on many of these photos. Can at least one of our ATS experts duplicate a couple of these photos here and now?
No photo shop allowed. Pure natural pictures that make rocks look anthropomorphic.
can I make another thread out of this?[point trolling alert]LOL

I also beleive that this is a rock....that has been sculpted into a human-like form. If it's a shadow of a rock, would it not just look like a rock shadow and not human figure? If you saw my shadow, and I said "that's just a shadow of a rock." That would'nt make sense to you would it?

Not to be rude but I often wonder how people can mistake things like this for an alien?

It's a rock outcropping, the darker side of it being a side of it. It protrudes away from the camera.

EDIT: For conspiracy's sake, pretend its an elemental from the Chronicles of Riddick lol. Discuss.

We all see things differently, which I think is a good thing when it comes to stuff like this. I find the puff of a sand cloud more intresting. At least that's what it look's like to me.

At first I was like "BIGFOOT!1! OH NOS BIGFOOT ON MARS". After the first 3 seconds I put together the pieces and it clearly defined itself as a rock. You can't look at the image close up entirely

This image is deceiving. When you take in the context (background and rock formations) it is clearly a rock as mentioned before.

Dude, it looks like the humanoid/shadow/rock has a six pack or abs. What a sexy shadow

I think it's a shadow by the way...
