I'm not launching into a #storm or slandering springer, what he did was very generous and i thank him for it, more than most would do for ATS.

However, in my eyes becoming a mod is the wrong way to pay someone back and i hope Springer sincerely refuses.

I like springer alot, so don't get me wrong when I say this. I agree with nerd. In fact, any member that was promoted as an award I would object to. Its just not right. Thats what the point system is for. Just my opinion.

Peace, TSK

Alright then, but it will appear to many as "cash for status"

Unfortunately this site has to pay to protect itself and it does not generate enough revenue on its own to do so.

I was approached with a request to help out which I did gladly because I am able, "status" should not be confused with responsibility here.

I am responsible for what happens with my money and as I stated before it is one of my personal rules that when I invest I am involved. This (access to the "inside") was my requirement in return for capital NOT an attempt by the staff to offer "status" for cash.

I really want that clear.

This was a mutual Business Decision between myself and the owner of this site.

PEACE...

Those comments are annoying.
How else were they gonna say thank-you to the dude? This is a web site and the only way of showing a meaningful appreciation is to give him a status.
We are all able to carry on posting here because of Springer so why shouldn't he be rewarded? If you don't like it you can always find another site on the net.

You'll gladly take the guy's cash and yet all you'll give him is a few #ty points? Points, to be frank, that ain't worth a wank.

# liberal, politics bull# and stupid, meaningless, "right-on" statements. This isn't the establishment - it's a #ing website for #'s sake. Some of you need to get with reality.

Thanks Springer.

I tried to make my post as nice as I could, the one about springer, but some people just cant see that. I apreaciate the donation from springer, but I dont think a mod status should be given out as an award, no matter what. Im entitled to my opinion and im entitled to share my opinion. got a problem with that? tough, get over it.

Springer does not have any mod powers that I am aware of. Only the ability to make sure his money is being well spent. As he stated before he is not going to handing out warns or editing posts or any other mod activity. Just keeping an eye on his investment, something I would do as well if I were in his boots.

And just like you "that's my opinion".

Regardless. It was a business matter and it's a done deal. There will always be dissention on these matters. It's like you work in one place for 5 years and they hire someone fresh from college, buy them a laptop, and give them a window office with you toiling in cubicle waiting for your new Swingline stapler.

It is all about perception.

Was it good for the business? Probably.
Was it good for the hired person? Certainly
Does it hurt moral of some (not all) people? Yes, it probably will.

I think everyone just needs to understand there are two sides to the matter. What's done is done and it certainly in no way should detract from the fact that Springer stepped up to help everyone and ATS.
(My thanks anyway)

Just don't forget the little guys.

Hey, that's my Swingline. What? Move to sub-basement three? But, but...

Hahahaha

Same ol ATS let the fighting begin..LOL

Thing is if Springer hadn't donated the money ATS would have still been down and no one would be here,so i guess we are all lucky he did.

I don't often agree with Nerdling (sorry Nerdling..no offense) but, there should be some kind of honorary title other than Moderator given in this situation. Like GoldMember, SilverMember..etc. I don't know if it's an available add on to the current BB system, but it's an idea. I wanted to offer a creative suggestion, not start a flame-war. Please don't think this is in any way putting down the very generous act that Springer has done.

A good idea DL.

What i'm more concerned about is a class divide between those who donate and those who don't.
