So the CIA is pushing for regime change in Venezuela? You know what I have to say about that? Good Job CIA, and thank you very much! It’s a damn shame that the Venezuelan people themselves don’t get that dictator of theirs off their backs. Instead, they will all just complain to the U.N. to please help them get rid of their own elected leader.

They're plotting to subvert the course of a democratic referendum and to go so far as to use force to destabilize the elected government. Apparently you think that's an honorable action for our country to take. I would be banned from this board in an instant if I told you what I really think about your point of view.

I'm outraged and I've had enough of this type of crap being done in MY name. MY name because it's MY country just as much as it is yours and every time some underhanded, conniving piece of dirt power player decides to overthrow another government or start another unjustified war, it's MY country that loses respect and gains more enemies. In most countries, we're already about as welcome as a turd in a hot tub and you want me to THANK the CIA for that?

I know you want to tell me to leave - go live in France with the rest of the booger eating Liberals - it's the standard answer I've seen here countless times. Screw that. This country was NOT founded to threaten, bribe, blackmail, subvert and overthrow the other nations on Earth for it's own profit. So how about YOU leave and find somewhere that your school of thought is accepted. Good luck with that.

Hey, I never told you to leave the country. That’s just you putting words in my mouth. But I think it’s time for another reality check.

We saved Europe from the Germans and did anyone even bother to officially thank us for that? As far as I know, they haven’t. Instead, they immediately started saying, “Get out of Europe, we can handle things now!”

The world has always held resentment for “the great experiment” or “the rebellious colonists”. Have you ever in your entire life heard genuine praise for America from any other country on the planet. Of course not. And why is that? It’s because Europe and most of the world is too busy singing their own praises to ever congratulate or praise anyone else.

France and Germany sold nuclear weapons technology to Iraq and Iran, but does anyone call the French government evil? Of course not! They are too busy claiming that the U.S. is the great Satan.

You know what I have to say about countries that hate us? So freaken what! No one has ever liked us, even when we were saving their butts from utter destruction. They resent us, they always have and they always will.

But people like you think that we need to cower to what France and Europe think right? People like you think that we need to do what the EU says no matter what. Well guess what my friend, China is going to wipe Europe off the map and the great savior the U.S.A. won’t be able to save them this time. They won’t stand a chance against China and the Muslims that have all but invaded all of Europe.

I hope they rot. I hope that an Iranian nuclear weapon goes off right in the middle of Paris France because they are the ones who sold them the equipment to build the darn things. I don’t give a rats butt about what the rest of the crappy world thinks about America.

Unlike you, I’m not someone who judges his actions on whether or not other people will approve of them. I judge my actions based on my own morality, not what some America Hater in Europe thinks.

Its not all black and white

Reading this thread is like jumping between black and white, but Id disagree and say that things are not that stereotypical in reality.

Not all CIA-Operations are ill intended. The CIA probably has prevented some serious crisises. The CIA probably has caused some serious crisises. The Venezualian Government has probably done some very good stuff and some very bad stuff. Interfering in another country is probably not a good thing at all, but sometimes deemed necessary by some.

On a personal level I am not going to interfer with the business of my neighbours. If they start attacking me, I will close my door to them and avoid them. If their attacks continue and they are supressing the people in their household I still wont interfere. But if they start getting obnoxious to the point that their trash and weapons are threatening my garden and my house, I might go over and give my neighbour a good hard punch. Or report them to the police (U.N.).

Its not all black and white.

Thank God for the CIA!

I am against using such methods as disrupting their voting process, and creating violent riots in the streets. This is not pushing for regime change, it's inciting anarchy, and putting the civilians at risk. It's the same type of operation as a false flag, and it's contrary to everything the US is supposed to stand for.

But seriously, the allied forces were not only the U.S. and without the other allied forces you wouldn't have won the army some of your wealthy countrymen (such as Prescott Bush) helped sponsor.

Btw.. If it wasn't for the hard work of my people in the oil refinery here in Aruba, the allied forces would not have had enough fuel to go on with the war. Which the Germans new when they attacked the harbor of San Nicolas here in Aruba. The first target in WWII west Greenwich.

www.lago-colony.com...

And the rest of your rethoric is nonsense. Let me show you one of the main reasons why people hate the CIA.

The following is part one of a documentary in which the CIA instigated a coup of a democratically elected government and installed a corporate friendly dictator who murdered over 100000 people.

The following shows evidence that the CIA was involved the information leading to Nelson Mandela's unlawful arrest and imprisonment.

www.thirdworldtraveler.com...
www.salon.com...

The CIA has blood on their hands. Blood of millions of people. That's why they're hated.

That obviously doesn't mean that they're the only ones like that though.

My only point is to mention this: you don't think we are the only ones up to these kind of dirty tricks, do you?

If your going to paint the U.S. in this kind of light, then you need to at least acknowledge the reality of the world we live in.

Well, if the article is true, according to our definition of terrorism the CIA=Terrorist orginization. Protecting our country does not require actions like that.Sorry.

Chaves is a threat to the U.S, bottom line he needs to go and I am usre we can all agree to this. he plans on becoming the next Fidel Castro.
Would you reccomend we just outright assasinate him or do asd the CIA allegedly is doing and help citizens of Venenzuela oust him?

You know who it is that complains about the CIA or the FBI? It’s those lame do nothing people who have never bothered to ever get involved in anything meaningful in their lives ... No. Most often all, they are most likely just complainers who never bother to lift a damn finger to help anyone but themselves.

I, my friend, am studying to be a Day Trader. In fact, I put in my two week notice from my day job this afternoon

It is because the rest of us actually live in the real world and not Disney world.

Good luck with that job that will add so much to the world. I imagine as long as the world stay in turmoil but doesn't collapse, you'll have your chance to make the big bucks.

No one has shown definitive proof of Chavez being a "bad guy". Do I agree with his methods and actions? Not really. But at the same time I belive that the people of his country can do fine without the CIA. Lets use history as an example. The USA in the begining, garnered support from france(the current enemy of England at that time). That action helped us break from the British Empire. However, this is nothing like that. If the community of any country needs help, you would think they would come and ask for it. It wouldn't even call for the use of the CIA. The CIA is the "Central Intel Agency" of the United States. Intel gathering has nothing to do with mucking in other countrys affairs, just reporting of current "going ons". We live in a democratic republic, not a clandestine police patrol.

Cuba itself was never a real threat, it was the fact that they were friendly to russia. The only reason russia was pissed at us was because we STOLE a huge portion of the WWII "pie".

If Chavez scares you, thats just odd...we(and even his own citizens)outnumber him. Sorry I just see the need of some clandestine angency to help the people of any country to "free" itself. Your just inviting control from US corp, instead of something else.

Chavez is none of our buisness, just as the USA is none of his buisness.

Chavez is a meglomaniac that thinks he is the next Simon Bolivar. He is that a "leader" that closes down opposition media and declares that anybody who does not agree with him in his country is a traitor. He runs goon squads that beat up people and is calling about everybody to the right of the Iranians "fascists".
He is the personification of evil in the western hemisphere, and misery and death will be his legacy.

So what you are saying is that Chavez is sooo evil that he somehow is bullet proof? All it would take is one person from that country to disobey and load a bullet into a gun. They have guns there right? Or is that something only the CIA can get for you?

If you think the people of any country are that weak, and that they couldn't rebel speaks volumes. If anyone allows themselves to be oppressed, they deserve it. It's NOT our buisness!!

Revisionist history at its "finest", and from a mod. Hopefully, this was meant as sarcasm, or you quite frankly need to go back to school. Only the eastern european, so-called warsaw pact countries - were "saved" by the russians. And they were only too happy to throw out their "saviours" when the soviet union fell apart. The U.S. and its allies saved western europe from the germans and the russians. Plus there was the Marshall Plan that sent billions of (1940's) dollars (worth way more than today's dollars) to rebuild western europe after the war.

From my experience the people in the CIA are doing a job no else would do and as americans doing it in ways that would turn our collective stomachs. I am not standing up for them, sometimes things need to be done that are unpleasant at best, it is nasty dispicable work that goes unappreciated. Yes they do things that might not always appear in our best interest. However they are human and make mistakes. Many "retired" assets are either alcholics or drug dependent due to their actions. Sometimes war or the prevention thereof makes savages out of the most noble men. I do not agree with all they do but all they do is for the cintuance of our standard of living. Like it or our life is probably easier because of them.

Uhm.. yeah Centurion..

The U.S. and It's allies INCLUDING THE RUSSIANS!!! And yeah, it was a joke as you can see by my emoticon posted right after that sentence. The Russians could've never done it by themselves, neither could the U.S..

Deal with it.

As for the Marshall plan (and the whole war as a matter of fact). They were just symptoms of the true cause of the conflict. So that certain people in certain places *international bankers and their lackeys* (oh did I say that?) can make profit.

Now back to the topic. The CIA...

This thread surely demonstrates the best of America and the worst of America.

I'm truly flabbergasted by some of the backward ridiculous opinions of the war mongering idiots who choose to lead life in menace and not peace.

I truly am speechless!

You seem to have alot of animosity towards the CIA and the U.S. for that matter I am interested to know why? As far as I know I don't believe the CIA has ever butted into any banana republic's politics..besides maybe Haiti? just curious as to where the animosity is coming from. What say you?
