I call for Jesus Christ to return in 40 days, or for a great sign in the sky signaling his return.

i'm confident in my assertions because they are backed up by the facts (or lack thereof)
your confidence is baseless.

I was not stereotyping, it was merely an emotionally charged statement, I'm a human too!

then you are forgiven

God is perfect man is not. Jesus rectified many of Moses's laws. I believe what Jesus said, and what he performed. Where is the evidence there was no Jesus.

where is the evidence that there was?
i don't have to disprove an unproven claim

All people are quick to adopt the writings of men. Every book, written by a mind, every fact found by a mind, every instrument created by a mind. One that is not perfect.

exactly, it's why people adopted the bible...
however, facts aren't of the mind, facts are of the universe.

Nothing disproves God. Proof is immaterial.

nothing proves god, proof is everything.

Lame. Isn’t it a little early for you tell me it’s not going to happen because I don’t have enough faith? I believe just fine. I am like many men in the bible; disappointed in the amount man has to suffer, how long it takes god to return, and other things like how pompous, assuming and dimwitted most are, especially those who think they are holy. Today they are corporate cookie-cutter christians no faith, no balls.

hmm... the sun will rise, lightning will strike the ground in various spots on the earth, it will rain somewhere, at at least someone will complain about taxes, and plenty of people will die tomorrow.

I would think doubters might want to quell the negativity here. We wouldn’t want anyone to blame the lack of a sign, or Christ’s not returning, on my inability to garner support because of an obstructive atmosphere. Anyway, I’ll be busy praying for a while.

We are supposed to allow God to work through us. The world is doomed, yes, it is terribly wicked here yes. I have balls to go out into it, and change it, be a witness, go on missions, etc.

Change... YOU bring about change in the world after God brings about change in your soul, your heart!

If you want the world to heal... help.

Man, I hate to do this to you sadie (since you are a believer). But, why are you asking for this?
What if there's no sign? Will you suddenly become an atheist?
If you answer my question, I'll tell you about a massive event that might happen within 40 days, the likes of which men have not seen since the bible, but not in the sky.

You said: I hate to do this to you Sadie (since you are a believer)

What are you doing to me?

You asked. Why are you doing this?

Because I’m saddened by the amount of suffering god expects his people to endure. The longer time goes on, the crueler it seems. I figured as a believer, I’d try and be proactive, and get the ball rolling. I listed only a few of the many gripes I have with the world that never go answered by god in my op -

How many tyrannical leaders will god allow to rule? How many greedy men will be allowed to make their fortunes on the backs of the poor? How many government’s will god allow to rule by deceit and terror? How many lies can be told, how many acts of violence can be perpetrated on children, or against other innocent people without a response from god? How many naysayer will be allowed to mock the testimony of the prophets without rebuttal, or use the bible to start wars, win elections, and sell automobiles?

Basically, I don’t feel there is any honesty left in business, or any loyalty left in friendships, or any lessons learned from mankind’s mistakes, or any opportunities left for dreamers, or any role models left for children, or heroes left to take a stand, or any purpose that isn’t political, in organized religion, or any truth in politics, or accuracy in the media, or any care given by caregivers. So I thought I’d just try to experiment with a little prayer in an anonymous forum.

You were wondering - if there’s no sign, would I suddenly become an atheist? No.

So what is your event?

. The world is doomed, yes,

Is it?

Rev 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

Incredibly different? Yes... Destroyed, doomed? Nope.

God has already brought about change in my soul, my heart. And I’ve done all kinds of things to help the world. I hope you’re not suggesting I change (me personally) even more. Especially without knowing me personally? There’s only so much one person can do. I need to change more because you don’t like my prayer? Why is it always the individual who must change when the bible insinuates it’s the masses that are heading for hell? I’ve altered my life dramatically for god. I believe in god, I might be disappointed by the unfairness and injustices I see around me, who isn’t? I’ve tried as an individual to make a difference in the world to standup against injustice.

Making you question your god in the end. At least, what you think about god. This could change you dramatically.

Remember this verse? "blessed are those who have not seen, and yet have believed" (John 20:29). People are happier if they don't try to rationalize everything that's in the bible, if they just believe. There are a lot of wisdom in the bible, but also things that just don't add up. Now you want proof, big chance, you won't get it. Especially in this scale.

Based on your reply to me, you have already started to question God. Why god let this happen, why god let that happen. Okay, so you wouldn't become an atheist. But I bet you will start to doubt christ and god, or at least christianity when the sign doesn't happen.

In my opinion, it is not in your place to demand for christ' return or some sort of great sign (especially it has to in 40 days, kinda bossy don't you think), but I understand, so here it is. The Pacific Ring of Fire is getting restless these days (google Mount Kelud, and Anak Krakatoa). If there's going to be a massive event, it'll be either a cascading volcanic eruptions in this region, or a massive earthquake that centered in Japan that can kill not thousands but millions of people. Don't bet on it sadie, and certainly don't wish for it to happen. A lot of people will die.

I’ve not seen and I believe, and the sign I seek was not on my behalf, but on behalf of those with weaker faith.

Plus many people from the bible have questioned god, and he’s even sent them angels to explain things. Certainly if man could question god in the days when miracles seemed normal, how much more can man question him now when God is so absent, and no angels come to answer the more complicated questions that are not explained in the bible.

I do not demand that Christ returns, I’m just making a hearty plea, a prayerful request that he does.

And being that Pat Robertson and others are making religious predictions. I’d like my great sign request (if given)to involve the color green. That way people will know it had nothing to do with Pat Robertson, or god hating gays.

See, you took the bible too far. If I write a book, the book says this book is about the truth, it doesn't mean it is.

You're a tricky one, aren't you?

Sadie, if you want it in 40 days, it's a demand. Now you want it in green. Why green? Pleaseee don't tell me it's your favorite colour.

Why if it's green, people won't know it had nothing to do with Pat Robertson, or god hating gays.

I’m not sure what your saying there, not at all.
As far as the green:
I want to make sure I can recognize the sign, and make sure it isn’t a sign Pat Robertson is receiving. I’m not trying to individualize it to make myself bigger, but for others to recognize the reasons why this miraculous sign might be given. Perhaps as a sign that answers to the problems plaguing humanity (that I mentioned) are coming. I just wouldn’t want someone hijacking the sign and claiming it was because god hates gays or something. I wanted the sign in forty days because that's how desperate, and sad I think most souls are, and I think they deserve a sign.

Oh my God, you're really one funny thing. I haven't even finish fixing my post format. Okay, forget about that post format.

Plus many people from the bible have questioned god, and he’s even sent them angels to explain things. Certainly if man could question god in the days when miracles seemed normal, how much more can man question him now when God is so absent, and no angels come to answer the more complicated questions that are not explained in the bible.

That means you really believe that's exactly what happen. But maybe it wasn't true. Maybe it didn't happen at all. The writer might just trying to make you believe that it was true. So, now you assume that God will do exactly that in the future. That God will send his angels.
That's what I meant by taking it too far. The bible is an article of faith (for lack of better words). Not necessarily everything in the bible is true, or did happen.

You didn't answer whether green is your favorite color. Well, is it? If not, why that particular color.

Oh yes the post format (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha……. )
??? That sure was hilarious.

Taking the bible too far?

Either Christ is coming back or he’s not, either god answers our prayers or does not. Either the bible is true or it is not. Pick a side, you seem to believe bits and pieces only. If you don't believe it's no sweat off my back.

My favorite color is purple.

I don't know you sadie. You just happen to cross my path. So, if something happen to you in the future, it probably won't have any effect in my life. However, it's like seeing some girl who falls in love to the wrong guy (assuming I know this guy or have experience dealing with this type of guy). The girl who doesn't really know the guy. Perhaps because she's just too young, she's hopeful, idealistic, she needs a good man, (all sounds familiar?) or whatever reason. In this case, the bible is the guy, duh.

You're right, I don't believe every single thing in the bible to be good for me.
So am I in or not? I said it is not in your place to demand, ask okay, demand no. Yet you're still adamant, if you force me to choose, either you're with us or against us, I'll have to say.... you reminded me of Pat Robertson and George W. Bush.

I'm done sadie. Still curious about why the green though. Hey, perhaps it's the US dollar. But I'm done, maybe we'll meet again. Take care sadie.

I don’t understand what you’re saying in the first paragraph. I mean, I think I understand the analogy you’re trying to make, but how you could possibly assert that it’s relevant to my life, and my relationship with the bible is a mystery onto itself. Please never think of me as idealistic and naïve, I could invoke all the cunningness of a Brazilian hooker in a dark alley if inclined, but I try and use my mind for good. The green I’ve seen in dreams. Goodnight.
