Could you have use MORE zippy slogans in that little tirade? So we should just let Iran continue on it's path to gaining nuclear weapons without really trying to stop them? It's pretty obvious the UN will not. Who then?

Bombing would be a last resort, but you seem of the thought that it's no big deal if they get atomic weapons and the means to deliver them. I and I must add, a majority of Americans, think the opposite.

Thta tide isn't that heavy. For every Iranian who wants change, there is at least one more willing to strap on a bomb, and die for the glorious Emperor

That is stupid, reactionary and in no way proportionate. So for the near half of the population who are moderators, we have the other roughly 40% of the population wanting to strap on a suicide bomb, that just does not tally with suicide bombs gone off. There are actually millions of Iranians.

Why shouldn't Americans be concerned for their safety when Iran is already sending out consistent threats against the U.S. and Israel? This would be the best time to exercise a pre-emptive strike against the Islamic-extremist nation of Iran that is now set on obtaining nuclear technology to start its holy war on the west.

Because all they want is for us to leave them alone. Iran has not spoken against the international line on Afghanistan. They want palestinians (in their terms, brothers) with access to schools and hospitals. America can best help by helping.

If Iran, or rather its government, really weanted to be just left alone, then why do they support international terrorism in Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, and Syria? None of what Iran does in these regions actually helps Iran, only their islamofascist ideology. Specifically, Shiite ideology, which explains the rivalry between Hamas (Sunni) and Hezbollah (Shiite).

Why can't Palestinians help themselves, in the same way that Japan and South Korea did?

Because they see the USA under George WIII Bush as the greatest terrorist in the world, so they will reply in kind.

Because Israel blows up all their infrastructure or puts a wall between them and it.

Bomb Iran, majority of Americans say

Despite President Bush's perpetually abysmal approval ratings, it appears his increasingly hostile rhetoric against Iran has drummed up enough fear of a "nuclear holocaust" or a World War III that a majority of Americans are in favor of a US strike against the country aimed a curtailing its apparent nuclear ambitions, a new poll shows.

Sorry, don't believe it. Every other poll I have seen shows the vast majority of americans do NOT want to bomb Iran. I'm guessing that this info came from the PRO-WAR camp. Cheney will say anything to get his WARGASM on.

I have a better question. How many were actually polled? Usually, they only poll somewhere in the neighborhood of 100-1000 people. That's hardly enough to get any kind of a census on what popular opinion is, I think. What would be far more productive is to hold a national debate, much like the ones CNN is holding for the Primaries, where the People are able to ask any representative about anything, or just call in to express their opinions.

That might elicit some change...

The target sample is [1028] interviews with approximately [59] questions asked. Samples are randomly drawn from telephone cd’s of national listed sample.

Big enough sample to draw conclusions from. They seemed to have gotten a fairly representative sample of the political spectrum, Democrat, Republican and Independent.

I don't think you can just call into question poll results you don't agree with. It would be different if it were an online poll from a website with a certain political or ideological leaning. Zogby's methodology is pretty sound for the most part.

I never said that I disagreed with the poll. If you notice, I said nothing about my opinion on the matter of the question. I was merely remarking at the apparent lack of participation to get an accurate sampling. 1028 is hardly enough to account for any kind of public opinion. I'm sorry, but in a nation of 250 Million+ citizens, 1028 is a VERY small minority.

Americans do not know what they want. You want to bomb Iran? Yes you do?
Learn from your mistakes in Iraq, you have people in the US crying because their soldiers are dying, they want them home. Think about this, if US attacks Iran then the soldiers in Iraq will probably get bombed. You will have even more people in the US pissed because US attacked Iran.

Understood, but most polls are in that range or far fewer people. Amazingly you can extrapolate a lot from such a small sample and apply it to the masses. I would tend to say the results of that poll are a reflection of a cross section of those people polled, which tended to be a pretty representative spread of the American public.
