I know there has been plenty of topics like this lately, where it is simply tricks of lights and shadows, but now i have my own i still have to post it.

This all took place within a 30 second timeframe:

I took my coffee cup to the sink and on turning around i spotted one of those typical movements in the corner of your eye, but thought nothing of it.

When i came back to the lounge room the first thing i noticed was the image i am about to post below. It really scared the hell out of it, it is literally like a face has pushed hard into the curtain and left it's cast. It isn't flat and simply shadows, it is indented in all the right places...

I ran for my camera and took several photos.

Since then the 'face' is gone.

As i know you will all say, and i would usually tend to agree, it is probably nothing. But it sure scared the hell out of me, and still does.

you just gave me the chills with this pic.

was your window open or closed and what floor are you on? (no, i don't think that there is a person behind the courtain, i'm just curious)

by everything you said, if this was a some kind of a spirit you caugh it leaving or hiding.

just to make sure we are seeing the same thing, it looks like a bald man with sunken eyes screaming right? it is weird it is like it is pushing on the shades, like it's coming in from outside

Pretty cool.

Thanks for sharing it. It does look like you have put a rectangular painting behind the curtain though. See the rectangular shape?

i think that the window is just opened and you are seeing the bottom of the window. i can't be sure though this isn't my thread

No, there is nothing behind the window. I have other pics 10 15 seconds apart i can post without that line there. I think it is just the crossbar on the window.

I am on the first floor and the window was closed.

The pattern on the bottom of the curtains is larger where the chin seems to be pushing it forward.

How would the pattern appear larger unless it is magnified or altered?

I can assure you that this photo has not been altered in any way.

I've been on ATS for a long time now and have no intention of getting myself banned. I simply put this image forward for discussion.

I'll upload some more of them and post them shortly.

EDIT: One more... the majority of them are too blurry. Couldn't hold the camera still.

I have seen you around here for awhile, and I am not implying that you have altered the pic, just making observations.

Another observation is that in the original pic the lines crossing the face are curved and fingerprint like where the two panels on the right hand side of the face show square or checkered pattern. I don't understand the difference unless something paranormal is altering the fabric itself.

Uh oh, someone is a smoker.
No worries, me too.

That is one crazy looking image. The fact that the curtain is pulled in nice and tight to the wall/widow only within and around the face region, but the face is emerging out is quite cool.

Hey fooffstarr, very weird !

Would I be right in thinking there is some kind of plant or foliage of some description behind the curtain
If not what are the green reflections coming through ?

Either way that doesn't detract from the fact that it does look very spooky. Have you had any kind of activity there before ... noises / odours or anything similar ? love & light ... the woodwytch.

The window faces into the garden... it's a shrub of some kind on the other side of the glass.

And no, no previous history of hauntings in this house.

Ohh man you can see from the distance you used some kind of editing tool like photoshop, it's pasted, I can see the square, you used a similar gradient to the background but it's still visible.

Wow... That's a great story! In my opinion, it would be pretty hard to photoshop that picture (although it's entirely possible); so it's either real or a BIG coincidence.

Haha... no i didn't. Sorry, but there has been no editing done to this image.

The bar at the top of the face is actually the crossbar in the window, have a close look, you can see the bar. It is darker below the bar than above because it is in a dark corner behind my coffee table and arm chair.

Thats all the data i can get for the first image, hopefully other people can use something better than Kodak Imageshare to get the EXIF data.

This is the best the same Kodak software can do with enhancement:

Either a

1. Hoax

2. Illusion

3. Heat coming from the bottom or any other direction towards the curtain which resulted that illusion.

Thanks for sharing, nonetheless.

I alluded to an optical illusion in my OP. It is the most likely explanation, but it is still one hell of a coincidence.

Do you mean an optical illusion like a hologram?
