Has anyone thought of trying to decipher some of the drone document text? I mean if you now have a base to go from, if it were part of the same viral campaign surely the drone documentation would also be decipherable.

now you know what letters match what ciphers it shouldn’t be too hard to apply that to the drone ciphers as well right?

just a thought

Area 51 is a product lineup they offer:

www.alienware.com...

I would guess that they're telling you to pick up one of their Area 51 models, they include both laptops and desktops. Not sure what model # or name they're looking for, but it sure makes sense as they're in the business of selling computers.

Anyone want to figure out what model numbers fit the message? I'm too tired and lazy to do it right now.

I also think it'd be a great idea to apply the cipher against our caret pictures just to see if there's some funny messages encoded on them.

That's the first thing I checked, but I couldn't find a model number with a second digit being 1, then I got distracted by the games (some good-looking ones there) and so I'm stumped.

The other thing is "only when each and every person can hold the evidence in their hands" as if it's something you hold, like a game controller? A new game console?

For such an elaborate set up, it's a pretty crappy competition... match up symbols to solve the code.

So much internet chatter and back story, all this interest and hype for a goofy story about alienware and a code so difficult elementary kids could solve it?

I don't know, maybe it's possible they wasted all their time, and ours on this. Its a bit of an anticlimax though.

the drones are pretty darn real. One of them was for some reason patrolling around my house for a few nights this past summer... but this one was a lot smaller than the ones in the photos, so I guess the actual drone photos could be an alienware campaign inspired by the real thing. Maybe the alienware execs have connections?

I cant believe no one is calling you on this.

You saw a drone patrolling your house for a couple of nights, and you did nothing? No video footage, no pictures, no seperate eyewitness testimony?

Am I the only person who thinks these sort of things need to be banned?!

I take this stuff seriously, it infuriates me that people think nothing of how much trouble this causes the UFO community and think they can just use it for advertising.

I feel the same way about that Australian UFO wave that happened a while back; that angered me greatly. The fact they could just go "hey lets make a little experiment blah blah blah" without even thinking about how it makes us in the UFO community look like idiots.

There needs to be a worldwide ban on organized hoaxing, but of course the world's governments doesn't take UFOlogy seriously so they don't care.

I understand your frustration, but dont you think world governments have a few more important things to worry about, other than banning UFO hoaxes?

Viral, totally viral. Oh, the "meme" folks are going to hate this, but I'd never gloat and say "I told you so."

You couldn't be more mistaken. The meme thread posited 'viral' as a premise to a meme all along. The "meme folks", this one at least, LOVE this thread - we don't hate it at all. We don't hate anything related to this (except perhaps self-righteous, presumptuous, or condescending attitudes).

Actually - this thread is directly and specifically right on target. Thanks for posting (and validating). It is entirely appropriate and complementary.

Good job.

It's not UFO hoaxes that are the problem, (or at least they are not the issue here), it's uncontrolled and unregulated advertising. As we saw in the other recent viral marketing thread regarding "The 7", (now deleted), as soon as an insertion was made in the written press it had to be headed as an advertorial, on the web that is not the case.

It's a means of exploiting a loophole in advertising regulation and is similar to the subliminal adverts which are now supposedly outlawed.

Thanks for the input, you raise a valid point. (BTW: "The 7" thread, was that the one about the clandestine organization with the tatto?)

Yes, that's the one - in fact there were two of them running at one time but they got fairly quickly spotted and dumped.

The other issue made at the time by the mod who dealt with the matter was that the advertiser, apart from consciously manipulating and deceiving the audience, was also exploiting an opportunity to gain unpaid for publicity by using a sort of underhand product placement approach with the effect of avoiding passing revenue to the site.

I would venture to guess that one way to gauge Alienware's involvement in any of this prior to the contest would be to use the cypher on the drone pics, as has been suggested. If the "words" on the drone pics are just gibberish then it's unlikely that Alienware are perpetrators of any hoax. If there's some coherent message in the original pics, then I'd assume they were involved somehow.

What came out first the alienware contest, or the Chad picture?

I'm assuming the Chad pictures, and the Caret Docs and primer came first.

So alienware is basically just using it as a 'font' for a cypher sweepstakes.

I wonder if they are in any violation. I remember Isaac saying in the original thread something along the lines, all the stuff was free to use, and not patented (the stuff he released), but he stated it could not be used for monetary gains. Or am I wrong on this?

I thought I remember people putting the primer symbols on shirts and mugs or whatever at that generic website, and we're selling it were apparently in risk of being brought up on lawsuits. At least that's my memory of it, but it was like in the middle of that HUGE thread that is going on right now. So I could be off as I said, and my memory isn't so good.

Either way, using it as a "contest" to give something away for free, isn't exactly makeing money off of it. But it is nice advertising for alienware, who seems to found a small loophole.

But if there's proof that alienware had this font on ANY of their stuff (because it is a perfect match, I mean they have the primers stuff in the backround too), BEFORE the first CHAD drone picture came out, then yea, the Drones are Debunked imo. But I don't think thats the case.

I'm fairly sure the Chad, then Isaac , (whoever he is) stuff appeared before any person's or companies used that exact font on their materials.

The person who made a full font configuration out of the symbols (forget which member it was) in the Big thread should had tried to patent it. But it's a pain in the butt of a process, I tried it before, it takes a good deal of money. Nothing for a company like Alienware though. I wonder if they have the rights to the font now. *shrugs*

In closing though and somewhat off topic, I'm VERY suprised the Drones live on and haven't be proven a hoax definitively yet. Except for a few dozen members who are sure the pictures are CGI. But for folks like me... Sheesh I've been to some sites where I can't tell the difference between full pictures of street scenes with people walking , driving in them, that are 100% CGI, and I would have sworn they were real photos. CGI is getting so good, you have to have an expertise in it to be able to catch the really good stuff.

CGI is gonna, well basically has already brought an end to UFO pictures and/or film being of any scientific value to the proof or existance of ...... well anything. Now it's gonna be, Hard evidence or nothing. Like a body, or wreckage; cause anything can be written off as CGI. It's really sad we're at that point.

Yes a winner has it by now i guess Yuefo..
at least we know one major player, I had not let my other little subjects off the hook yet, as it is collaborative and open source meaning it will be harder to pinpoint the original parties..like the snowball going downhill and growing
Did you ever find Xphiles? hope hes ok..he would have been a big help to in all this tell him we all give him a shout out and hug

yes it is but microsoft also has a caret program same symbol to, and there is a caret program at cambridge and 2 others all dealing with education, and brain mapping..also us dept of agriculture too. Lots of references in google for program related issues of programming and text in line codes.

Well, using the symbols on a commercial product would certainly accomplish one thing - anyone who wanted to complain about it would be outing themselves as the original hoaxers.

Even though this 'evidence' certainly makes it look like Alienware is behind the whole thing, this isn't how you go about a viral marketing campaign at all. The Isaac documents, all the various sources of pictures, etc... None of it ever went mainstream, and it really wasn't going to through the channels by which it was produced.

Is this perhaps the case of a hoax being 'bought out' by a company for use as a ready made marketing scheme? The Alienware stuff has always been overpriced garbage that is no better than stuff the DIY geek can throw together for 1/3 the price. Not sure how well the company has been doing, the fact that they are still around says something I guess.

This dude is constantly posting against people without having any logical input. Thanks for not helping out the community!

The characters are precisely the same, as well as the diagrams in the background. Nice catch guy.
