Thank you for the kind words.

I think you have the wrong impression of me.

I am against the war. Any war. I think war is absolutely 100% wrong under any circumstance and I intend not to fight to protect myself or anyone else until the Lord orders me to do so.

I don’t stick to my guns, I threw them aside a little ways back down the trail.

I take no pride in what I did, guilt sits on both shoulders and is a heavy weight on my heart.

People, don’t mistake my support of the TRUTH as my support of the war!

Being on a certain side of the fence does not mean you have to sacrifice the truth.

The truth is the war in Iraq is unjust and morally twisted. It is a perversion, an abomination.

But people, that does not mean you have to swallow every anti-war lie!

You cannot claim the moral high ground and support lies. It makes me sick those who claim to oppose the war on moral grounds and turn a blind to or show support for lies!

Remember, if you want to change the world you need two things: LOVE and TRUTH.

Don’t sacrifice either or you are nothing.

Spectre0o0, I am glad your daughter joined the Navy, there is less chance she will have to kill anyone or see anything she can’t live with. I hope she comes home to you soon and I pray she changes her ways and leaves institutions of war behind her before exiting this world.

The United States. President Bush. The American people.

It is American tax dollars. Although we are nowhere close the biggest giver in terms of percentage of GNP, we are still the largest as far as actual dollar amount goes.

Educate yourself so you don’t go around spreading lies.

A nation is like a person in that we are all bad, but we aren’t all bad.
Every one of us sins daily, and every one of us has a shining light inside.

The United States is the same. We sin daily, but we have a good heart and try to do more good than harm. That does not excuse us, but it does not give you a blank check to spread lies about us either.

Maybe the military, is trying to kill off as many as passable? trying to compensate for all the US military people killed off...but the US should have never been there in the 1st place. they don't belong, GO HOME! WE DON'T WANT YOU. that should be on ever sine on every home in Iraq. I think the military stinks and so dose the military way of dealing with a war stinks.

cavscout, i don't support war either, but i do support your behavior over there. i wasn't on a rant about the pleasures of war,i was just backing you up, trying to point out that you are not murderers.i'm sure you're not one and my daughter isn't one. i was simply trying to infer that i can't picture the carnage on the grand scale it's described.
the guns were figurative. i meant your will to convey the truth...thats all
as far as the things you feel, they are private and endemic to you, and i will make neither comment or judgement,as i have no experience with that.
i simply meant to imply that i was backing your comments and actions, because they seemedfair and honorable

ps that's why i guided her there. it was no quick decision. there was a lot of forethought.

edited to add ps

Thank you sir.

All I want is the truth. In this world it is one of the few pure things we have left to us.

You heard the mod. Let it go. He did apologize. If you want someone
to respect your opinion, you need to have one and not just attack.

Well, I am surprised. Is it really 10,000 a month? I guess the military is getting things cleaned up quite well these days. Go Army!

While I found eclipse_solar's statement to be very ignorant, I wonder if those who were all for the mod's to take punitive action against him profess a belief in the concept of free speech.

There is no "free speech" on ATS, as well there shouldnt be.

This is a private internet community with a reputation to uphold. Given total free speech ATS would not be the great site it is today.

This topic has been beaten to death. Check out this thread:The issue of "Freedom of Speech" on ATS

Why do you liberals keep attacking America? We gave them freedom, we sacrificed our soldiers to liberate their country.

Well, mate, seeing as I am from a country that also helped your country to illegally invade Iraq, I can also say the same thing about sacrificing our soldiers - but I will not.

How can you honestly say that your soldiers are giving them freedom when the whole premise for the war was false in the first place.

Now while I sympathise with you, as I can be just as patriotic to my country as you can be to yours and I can tell you with pride that my country is the best in the world - well, much better than yours is, anyway, but I digress.

The point that I would like to make to you is, do you not feel ashamed that our countries invaded another country for reasons that were not told to us and that while we are occupying their country, we are killing their civilians and their freedom fighters and attempting to impose our values and culture on a culture that has shown us time and time again that they do not want us there? Do you not feel ashamed?

War is a devastating thing...it destroys families. How many children no longer have a mother or father? Most people would agree, I think, that war is terrible.

Maybe I wish we had never invaded Iraq...but then I also wish that the terrorists had never killed 3,000 innocent people in this country...but my wishing that doesn't change the fact that it has happened. The question must be - what do we do now? There is no easy answer. To simply abandon Iraq now might cause even more problems. To stay also causes problems.

The article posted doesn't mention anything about U.S military killing all these civilians... it stated only the death rate of civilians, because of the war.... which includes victims of being beheaded, getting killed by car bombs... etc.
