I´ll post it here, because for me, it´s an unidentified flying object. In fact, I have no idea, what it is!

Together with my wife and a friend, I was on the way to my father. We live in Munich, Bavaria, and he lives in a little town west of Munich. On the highway a little bit outside of Munich, my wife´s friend noticed some kind of object in the sky and pointed it out to us. I had to drive, so I couldn´t look at it that long and often.

At first, I thought that it might be just a kind of balloon. I told my wife to take some pictures so we can look at it later on the computer and zoom in on it to identify it. My wife only took one photo because she wasted most of the time to make a quite shaky and grainy movie with the photo camera (I can try to upload it anywhere, if anyone is interested – but you don´t see more than what is on the picture). I didn´t stop the car, because there was no place to stop and I really thought it just may be a strange looking ballon.

At my dad´s place we immediately transferred the picture to the computer to take a closer look at it. To my surprise, after zooming in I still had no clue what it might be. I couldn´t keep my balloon theory, because it just doesn´t look like a balloon. No one of the four of us could identify this object.

On the way back (it was already dark), we couldn´t see anything anymore.

Does anybody know what is on our picture??? I doubt that it is something extraterrestrial, because it just doesn´t look like a "real" UFO.

So, where are the experts?

Here´s the photo:

Cant see it properly. You need to zoom in on the object before we can make a judgement

Certainly an unconventional shape, not very aerodynamic in intent. It has odd protuberances and looks like its made out of at least a couple of different materials. Is this taken through the cars glass or was the window down? There are some other odd shapes/light sources in the image in the sky portion that make me think the window was up. It doesnt look like you were moving very fast indicated by the very small amount of blur on the road sign. Not any blur seen on the object either, so it was either close and pacing you (not likely due to lack of detail) or static at a distance somewhat equal to the construction crane in the photo.

I'd toss this to Jeff Ritzmanns forum for him and his mad scientists to peek at. Decent pic....

Looks genuine to me. Yes, it looks a bit different to most others Ive seen, but there are lots of alien races visiting earth, with lots of different vehicles.

Hmm looks wierd to me , not like any UFO that I have seen before(but the shape does resemble something I just cant remember where I have seen something like that before).

As my photoshop skills are not to great I hope somebody can zoom in on it somehow withouth the lost in quality :/

Yes, I think the window was up. You can see the reflection of the inside of the car. I can ask my wife for confirmation.

We weren´t really fast. My old car doesn´t make more than 120km/h. And I think that this photo was taken when we left the highway and made a turn. So we must´ve had about 50-60 km/h. Some seconds later the object was not in our view anymore.

At first when I saw the picture, I thought that this object is somehow related to the construction site visible in the picture. But it (the object) seems to be much farther away, because all in all we saw this thing for about 3-4 minutes (while going about 100-120 km/h on the autobahn).

Edit: Thanks for the close-up!

2nd edit: corrected typo

Wow, thats not like anyhting Ive seen. I can rule out weather balloons because I work with them. You should check to see if anything strange in the sky was reported by anyone else in that area

This was about 1 week ago. The days after I checked some regional online newspapers but I couldn´t find anything about it....

The video is about 30 Mb. I´ll try to upload it when I have time to. Maybe tonight.

It´s a shame I didn´t urge my wife to take more photos. I thought it´s just some odd balloon....

Pretty weird looking object... it will be interesting to see the video, I think that will help a lot.

OK, the file is up:
rapidshare.com...

But I´m afraid it won´t lead to new insights since the quality is worse than on the picture...

Edit: I asked my wife, she opened the window for the movie and then closed it again. When taking the picture, the window was closed.

There's a guy standing by his black truck to the right of the construction site. I wonder if he knows what it is. It looks like he's looking at it too. It's got a wierd shape to it that's for sure. To me it looks like the object is in between the road and the construction site and about 300 feet in the air. Nice picture. It's definetly a UFO for now.

Yeap, I see the guy standing there, looks like next to a black car with the hood up. Something on the road behind the car? Think maybe he might be remotely controlling a flight capable wad of trash? Hehe, he almost looks like he is taking a picture of CM23's car as it passes by. Maybe holding a remote unit in his hands. Very hard to see even after zooming in, he loses definition.

Agree it looks like the black car has his hood open to me also , hmm I wonder maybe the car broke down ? Lots of ufo witnesses stated that the first thing that happened was their car breaking down (might just be coincidence thou).

Whatever it is its a good picture for sure
Lets wait for our resident scpetics and pro's to try and make some sense out of that

I just wish Your wife had zoomed in on the object while taking the video (and the photo for that matter also
) , but never the less great photo

Quite the odd object. I am wondering if it is some sort of remote controlled survey or imaging instrument.

In case anyone is interested, the location where the photo was taken is 48°14'5.15"N 11°20'53.30"O looking NE. The video was taken along Autobahn 8 (A8 in Google Earth) going NW. The first time we saw it we were still on A99. That´s about 6km (!) away from the place the picture was taken!

On the weekend I´ll try to go there again and see if I can make something out, although I highly doubt that it´s still there.

It reminds me of the stupid little trashcan robot from that horrible Disney flick "Black Hole" Slim Pickens did his voice....Bob I think was the character name. Yeesh, how can I still remember that...

Great photo. This reminds me so much of my own personal sighting back in Fall of 2005 near folsom lake in CA.

Was the object appearing to change shape while you were watching it?

I was with my girlfriend - walking our dog - and would have to say that your description of it looking like a balloon at first is dead on the same as mine. My sighting was also in daylight hours. It appeared to be reflective at first (thus thinking it was one of those metal looking helium balloons), but then changed to all sorts of different shapes.

Finally we got close enough (no camera on us at the time) where it looked to us like a classic saucer shaped UFO.

Its comforting to hear someone else had a similar experience none the less.

I know that this resize isn't so nice, but sadly this way of resizing ("pixel resize") is the only that actually keeps the original pixels that were created by the camera.
Anyway, it may be useful in order to assest its flying-path.

IMHO, the object is moving slowly, like a blimp which is flying in the direction of the cameraman (or opposit) and bottom right-top left.
There's just a little movement in direction right-left and bottom-top, but it's a SLOW one.
About the video, i noticed that despite it looks that the object runs at a certain speed, the difference from the first frame (of the sightng) and the last one

says that the object is still, or slow.

IMHO, this could be a some kind of strangely shaped blimp or balloon, but if you ask to me what blimp/balloon is exactly, of course i have no idea.

Ah, to the OP: Du fahrst zu schnell!!

BTW: are you SURE that isn't a balloon which promotes oktoberfest?

Darn, you got the best beer in the world.
