What I want it people to wake up. i do not want ANYONE to be hurt, but at the same time I do not appreciate people constantly stating everything is fear mongering or CAI-qeada or the other host of BS that is stated.

In fact, the US in this decade was the victim of a suicide bomber who thankfully did not gain access to where he was going. He was an American named Heinrichs. University of Oklahoma. Check into the unsealed warrants and documents that are now available. This was an American kid who was so dissillusioned by anti american rhetoric and Muslim teaching that he was willing to strap explosives to his body. It happened. It is not a myth.

1. Why is CAIR involved?
2. What is on the laptop?
3. Why are they not yet released? Fireworks are legal in SC I believe and they are not bieng charge with possesion of fireworks?
4. It seems that there are immigration violations also that are bieng reviewed.
5. Hmmmm...students on expired visa's living in Florida??? wanna guess when that happened last?

Again, my statement was not for America, but those who want to continue to act as if in America there is no threat from extremists . I do not live in fear, I live vigilant. As far as Eisenhower, I am quite familiar with the speech...www.yale.edu...

This is not a package in a cab, and have you not forgetten Malvo?

In Muhammad's May 2006 trial in Montgomery County, Maryland, Malvo took the stand and confessed to a more detailed version of the pair's plans. Malvo, after extensive counseling, admitted that he was lying at the earlier Virginia trial where he had admitted to being the triggerman for every shooting. Malvo claimed that he had said this in order to protect Muhammad from the death penalty, because it was more difficult to achieve the death penalty for a minor. Malvo said that he wanted to do help the victims' families by letting the full story be told.[citation needed] In his two days of testimony, Malvo outlined detailed aspects of all the shootings.

Part of his testimony concerned Muhammad's complete, multiphase plan. His plan consisted of three phases in the Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland metro areas. Phase one consisted of meticulously planning, mapping, and practicing their locations around the DC area. This way after each shooting they would be able to quickly leave the area on a predetermined path, and move on to the next location. Muhammad's goal in Phase One was to kill six people a day for 30 days. Malvo went on to describe how Phase One did not go as planned due to heavy traffic and the lack of a clear shot and/or getaway at different locations.

Phase Two was meant to be moved up to Baltimore. Malvo described how this phase was close to being implemented, but never was carried out. Phase Two was intended to begin by killing a pregnant woman by shooting her in the stomach. The next step would have been to shoot and kill a Baltimore City police officer. Then, at the officer's funeral, they were to create several improvised explosive devices complete with shrapnel. These explosives were intended to kill a large number of police, since many police would attend another officer's funeral.

The last phase was to take place very shortly after, if not during, Phase Two. The third phase was to extort several million dollars from the U.S. government. This money would be used to finance a larger plan: to travel north into Canada and recruit other effectively orphaned boys to use weapons and stealth, and send them out to commit shootings across the country

i don't know man.....
vigilant?
about what?

sure, on 911 there was an attack that we still have questions about...since then, pretty much all i hear is 'boston gets shut down cause a lite brite'...a creuise liner is about to go out and their very expensive scanners scan a package and the scanner shows it to be c-4, multiple time....after they got into it, it was but sprinkler system parts....
we hear how a few lone gunman are going to what, attack a friggin us military base??????
we see a couple dudes in scotland basically light themselves ablaze, and freak people out....

what i see is scare tactics OR, some very, very inept terrorists.

it seems to me that the trenchcoat mafia, the uni bomber, whitman(that his name), mcveigh, koresh, etc etc are for more efficient at actually killing people...
hell, cho seung hui has a better average than the post 911 terrorists.....

i know i am making light of the situation but it just seems people are so terribly freaked out that we forget, we need to rebuild some bridges. i mean actually concrete bridges...

Perhaps this adds some clarification. Perhaps not.

Police became suspicious when one of the men tried to hide a laptop computer. A search of the car turned up pieces of pvc piping, various model rocket motors and other items considered suspicious.

www.wsav.com...

The situation is about a clear as mud. Thats probably to be expected with so many competing agencies involved. City, County, State Police, Bomb Disposal, ATF, FBI, Homeland Security, Terrorism Task Force, etc.

Give them a couple years to fill out all the paperwork to begin a deeper investigation and maybe it will become as clear as motor oil. Or not.

Well this means that the next time I travel from GA to FL I should not stop in Florida and buy any fireworks or bring my laptop with me. . .

After all been Spanish with a husband that looks suspiciously middle eastern can get us in trouble and charge with terrorism and explosives transfer from state to state.

You know, I can even be accused of intention to make a bomb.

Is very hard to be brown, Spanish and very suspiciously middle eastern this days.

And the new laws making sure people do not get sue for being snitches I guess only white people will be free of any suspicious behaviors and background.

with various model rocket motors, maybe they were building, a model rocket? possible or no?

the laptop sounds strange when described by the article but what exactly happened?
maybe the dude was looking at extreme bondage or something and tried to stuff it under the seat....i don't know.

all i'm saying is it seems like while there is little evidence to point to much of anything, people seem to think that these were some bomb making fools.....might have been too.

coulda just been kids with model rocket crap doing 10 over

I have not forgotten Malvo and how his terror spree was outlined in Operation Northwoods.
I have not forgotten the ANTHRAX that came from our own MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX.
I have not forgotten the Gulf of Tonkin incident which was fabricated to get us into a long drawn out pointless war.
I have not forgotten the prophetic words of Eisenhower, or the insider trading on september eleventh, or the USS Liberty attack, or the Business Coup, or WACO, or Ruby Ridge.
I have not forgotten that politicians lie, continually.
I have not forgotten much my friend.

Did you read that last link by Makeitso?

Men charged with possession of incendiary device

Charged with what?

Police say the men told them they had fireworks. DeWitt says the officers had reason to believe the material was not fireworks.

Officers detonated the material early yesterday morning. DeWitt would not identify the material, some of which is being analyzed by the FBI.

Officials say they were in the country legally. It's unclear if they are U.S. citizens

So, they didnt know what it was but they blew it up anyway, and now they are gonna test it to see what it is?

Looks like they were here legally.

Wait a moment!!!!!!!!!

The stuff was detonated!!!!!!!!!!!

And now will be examined!!!!!!!!

Doesn't detonation actually destroy evidence!!!!!!!

Or just makes it hard to prove the claim by the two men that it was nothing more than fireworks

Doesn't fireworks will explode as intended?

But how can you prove that it was nothing more than harmless fireworks now.

OHHHHH, I forgot the media is making sure that we know they are suspicious middle eastern men.

So they all are terrorist bomb makers.

They don't normally charge people with possession of model rockets do they? One thing I thought may help clear up the situation a bit for us would be to find out what the other investigation, (which led to the arrest), consists of.

Lombardo also said information from an investigation in another jurisdiction raised the suspicions of the deputies.

What is that other investigation? Anybody?

^^^^^^^^^man, thats too funny. i wonder the officers had reason to believe other than the fact they hid a laptop, and were olive skinned.

just saying.

coupla college kids...

why would you blow something up, BEFORE you know what it is? i mean, this day in age with all the 'extremist' out there, could it not have been literally anything.

all you can do is wonder you know

this is the way i am leading at the moment....this can be used by the feds for anything they are cooking up at the moment.
coupla middle eastern dudes with 'explosives' near all these military places..
sheet, people are afraid now..
gotta stall a bit till the feds find a passport in the trunk that leads them to a hotel room with ALL KINDS OF terroist gear....phew, good thing all these new laws let them capture these men....better enact some more.

sounds kinda like a golden opportunity kinda fell in their lap and since the locals were so freaked, the feds decided to run with it...

who knows man?

Indeed Marg, thats why I put the little
in there.

What are the odds that after detonation the material will have residue of explosives on it?

As far as the laptop, most likely it contained porn.
As far as acting suspicious, well what brown skinned man isnt going to be nervous when he is pulled over in America, particularly in the southern portions of America.

This post is about these 2 morons. SHould we spend more on our infrastructure in America instead of 10 more F-22's. Yeah, the power grid scares me more than the bridges. People can take another route without a bridge, no power leads to riots.

The Global jihad started with the death of Sadat in modern times. Since then, it has not stopped. It has not actually stopped since it's inception and the want of not a nation of Islam, but a world.

If you honestly believe that Islam is a contender for world conquest then you are a fool. No offense intended.
There is no way in hell that Islam is ever going to take over America.
Hell, Chechnya Muslims cant even break away from now defunct Russia, and yet you think that a religion, of which a small minority are extremists, just like Christianity and Judaism, is some how poised for world domination?

After some more research, seems that they are USF students. If you do not know, in Tampa at USF, there is the World and Islam Studies Enterprise at USF which was founded by Al-Arian who has ties to terror along with his brother. Remember, this is the same school were the 2 middle eastern guys accidently got on a school bus. This is the same town that houses CENTCOM and SOCOM, the ones effectively killing their brothers. It also houses one of the largest ports in the country.

These guys are bieng held on immigration charges and this, as many others, will dissappear. Remember that Atta was stopped twice before 9/11. A little more foresight and things today could be alot different.

Ah, for the "Good Old Days"!

After many years of swimming in the California summer sunshine, I have a nice golden hue.

I use to build and fly high-powered hobby rockets out in the Nevada desert.

I remember one drive up along I-80 to a planned meet of like-minded WOOSH (and often BOOM!) afficianados. I was just going with the flow of traffic (OK, traffic was a bit over the limit at the time), when a Highway patrol car starts getting close.

Proudly, I had placed my latest creation on the parcel shelf in the back window of my car, an older BMW that had seen better days (just the sort of vehicle a college student or other "America-hatin' radical" might drive). The rocket was about three feet of finned, gleaming white sleekness tipped with an anodized gold nose-cone. Every bit as sexy, and potentially lethal, as a porn star's stilletto heel.

Then, just as the ChiPie gets close enough to clearly see my "baby" on board, he hits the brakes and drops back about half a dozen cars.

I'll never know why, for sure. But I have my suspicions.

I wonder what he would have done if, at the time, I had been wearing the red and white Saudi head-skarf (received as a gift from a local TV reporter) I often wore around the launch site to keep my brains from boiling?

Maybe it's best for all concerned that this incident occurred a few years before 9/11.

Times change, and not always for the better.

I have a good friend from Maine who is black Irish. Coal black hair, black eyes, swarthy complexion, hooked nose.... all traits passed on to the Irish after sailors from the Spanish Armada wrecked on their shores.... add to this a clear and undeniable Maine accent. Any rate since the mid seventies, this friend simply cannot pass near an airport, much less try and go through one without drawing the attention of the feds. He obviously fits somebodies profile or looks like someone they are after. He has long since stopped trying to fly and either drives or buses or trains it wherever he goes.

I haven't followed what's happening in SC because I am tired of the hysterics associated with the whole damned thing but based only on what I have read here there seems to be two possiblities as to what's happening. Either the local cops over reacted to the sight of two swarthy skinned men who happened to be middle eastern who happened to be stupid enough to have either model rockets or fireworks in their car and now they are trying to cover their asses... OR there is something to it.

NOW... the thing is and this is important... SC is one of the few places on the east coast where you can legally buy fireworks and significent ones at that. I don't know if it is still in business but there used to be a place called South of the Border that was a (pardon the pun) mecca for people wanting to buy something bigger than what most of the states around here allow... AND it just so happens there are often road blocks and random searches at the borders to prevent these big fireworks from being taken out of state.

Until I hear otherwise I suspect that these two students (that is what they are being called on here anyway) were either stopped after buying fireworks at a place like south of the border or someone saw them.... fireworks + middle eastern men = terrorists thinking and turned them in.

Seriously college kids of any stripe buying fireworks sounds as likely as anything else.

Check out this book for a good read...www.amazon.com...

I do not think the Caliphte is coming in 5 years, but 50 or 100 maybe. Anything is possible. Hell, a meteor could hit Canada and we are invaded by China for the rest of our resources along with Mexico.

Model rockets are cool. My son and I have set a few off here on the beaches.

Oh please.... the Caliphte as an instituition has been defunct for a thousand years; the vast majority of Muslims have no interest in reviving it and it is a political fantasy of the extremists and they are given a billion Muslims, a small minority.
