i am agreeing with you eyewitness.

also, didn't the paper say they found pvc pipe? i didn't know pvc was used to make pipe bombs but i am no expert.

i also wouldn't it put it past the cops to pull over the 'olive' colered ones for speeding....speeding my arse....

they were 'near' a base...well, every damn place you go down there you are near a base....

no matter how it turns out now, you think the gov will eat crow on this one? nope...these dudes are screwed now...

the PIPE BOMB nonsense was proven false and the AP headlines have been changed.

Check and see; there will turn out to be NO pipe bombs and NO proof of intent. just another case of bad cops ruining a vacation by getting consent to search from some dumb cluck.

i'm with ya but thing is, we will never know for sure now....they detonated whatever it was....if it was in fact a bunch of wolf packs tied to a bottle rocket stuffed into a pvc tube, we'll never know..

we can be told anything we want now(well, we always could but now it's easier)....
olive people? fireworks? plumbing suplies? out of state tags? military sites nearby?
OMG OMG OMG OMG...........TERRORISTS/ISLAMIC EXTREMIST
'fight em there so we don't have to fight them here'

Eyewitness: Thats what I was saying about the south of the border fireworks store.

["NOW... the thing is and this is important... SC is one of the few places on the east coast where you can legally buy fireworks and significent ones at that. I don't know if it is still in business but there used to be a place called South of the Border that was a (pardon the pun) mecca for people wanting to buy something bigger than what most of the states around here allow... AND it just so happens there are often road blocks and random searches at the borders to prevent these big fireworks from being taken out of state."]

Besides all that just look at those two... they look like a couple of stoners. Probably are too.

I know we have to be on our guard but that doesn't mean we have be be psychotic about it either. What I find telling is how this is NOT being reported on the other news shows.

grover, i think i remember that place and i didn't even live there.

EXACTLY: Every year for years Va. Tech would warn students that if they were caught with imported fireworks from places like South of the Border, on campus, they would face suspension. Consequently it drew college kids like a magnate. I haven't heard of it in years but it would not surprise me if it or something like it was still up and running.

Actually: I googled it on my other browser: here is a link.

www.roadsideamerica.com...

Now doesn't it sound like a college jock magnate to you? Certainly does to me.

Now is this anywhere near where those kids were picked up?

No. South of the Border is in northern South Carolina at the border with North Carolina on I-95. These people were caught near Charleston, on the Atlantic coast of central SC well off of the I-95 corridor.

Try again.

Here's a map

After all of the information, it seems that the FBI is trying to shut up local law enforcement, and there has to be a reason. I still want to know what is on that laptop other than youtube jihad.

That's what I've been thinking too.

Maybe they're trying to find others linked to these two.

Figures that they are from USF.

why does everyone keep saying "they had fireworks big deal" did you even read the articles? they had various pipe bomb making material and one of them admitted to making a pipe bomb. every single person in the world knows the difference between some bottle rockets and a pipe bomb.
they were speeding. it wasnt "profiling" since when can you see the nationality of a occupant of a car from behind in the dark?
they got pulled over for speeding and the suspicious behavior with the laptop and conflicting stories lead to a search, happens every day. and more often than not turns up drugs, guns, or in this case bombs.

you would be singing a different tune if a bomb went off in a mall somewhere and it turned out to be these guys and you found out that cops pulled these guys over a few hours before and they were acting suspicous but decided not to do a search. you would be saying, " the idiot police had these guys and they were clearly suspicous but just let them go !?"
you cant win can you?

thanks,
the map shows that South-of-the-Border (a Tourist Trap for decades)
is +100 miles north up in Dillon, SC--- from where the 2 men were stopped.

now look at the yellow Pins. they started from Tampa. most
likely went up I-95 through Georgia ....and with all the 'gear' inside their car went right towards Charleston (for some reason)
- with all the PVC pipes filled with some chemical, fuses, GPS , explosives, cell phones, and from what i hear a 'street Atlas' (? for some specific destinations?)

logic tells me that the two men in custody, weren't intent on any South-of-the-Border fireworks or M-80s (equivelent to a 1/4 stick of TNT as far as Urban Legend goes) and did not make a giant circle ---bought nothing at 'SOTB'---as the contents of the car evidence---and hang around Goose Creek where they got stopped for speeding (not for having Olive Skin)

i've been stopped over the years on that stretch of country road
for 'tail-lights'...that was when the I-95 stretch thru Georgia was still incomplete and to get to Myrtle Beach from Florida there was only
the Hwy 17A available....
the 3 AM road was desolate & the cop needed some activity to report
& to keep him awake for his shift...
i half-way welcomed the diversion, after 6 hours from Florida and another 2 hours to my destination !

thanks

So you guys are still trying to spin this as some Muslim bombing brigade huh.
Yeah the kid said he was making pipe bombs...atleast the article said that the cops said that the kid said that he was making pipe bombs.........
As I posted on another thread, I personally have never made a pipe bomb, but in my opinion PVC would not do the job.

Maybe you folks are right. Maybe these kids had devious plans to blow up an aircraft carrier or make some toothpaste bombs. Maybe they are part of some giant Muslim terror cell and all the evidence is right there on their laptop.

Maybe, but I dont think so.

EDIT to add....How odd is it to take a freaking GPS with you on a trip?
Not very.
How odd is it to have an atlas as a back up?
Not very.
How odd is it to have a cell phone with you on a trip?
Pretty odd.
How odd is it to shut your laptop as a cop is approaching the car so you can give him your undivided attention?
Pretty odd.
What would the cop have said if the dude was surfing when he walked up?
"Son, shut that damn computer off"
Thats exactly what he would have said.
Or maybe, "Son, what is so interesting on there that you cant give me your attention?"

The whole reason 9/11 occured is because someone looked the other way and a key piece of intel was not read and put forth. The Tampa/Florida tie is suspect as well. Sorry, to much coincidence with media blackout.

No, we're just trying to find the truth and deny ignorance. Something that you don't seem to be interested in.

There are 3 sides to each story, yours, mine and the truth. However, when you take into account facts.

Ahmed Mohamed's trip ended in a South Carolina jail cell. But, it started when he was kicked out of his home. The 26-year-old Kuwaiti national had just moved into a house in Sulphur Springs. His former housemate says right from the beginning, Mohamed kept her up late at night as he entertained friends.

Tampa Police records show Mohamed was cited for shooting at squirrels with a high powered pellet gun last month

Seems like he was on a squirrel jihad recently.

Easy, pull behind car, tic-tac license number into computer, get read out of registration, "oh my, it says right their under ethnicity "NOT WHITEY", flick the lights and siren, pull over said dark person, harass and ticket them.

New Jersey is notorius for this action, and nobody did anything until they gun downed a basketball team in cold blood.

They really still don't do anything about this, my wife was pulled over and ticketed within five days of registering each of her vehicles. Apparently the pig-patrols figure people will not fight the ticket and just accept the harassment.

Aww come on people they were caught red handed and you still dont believe it even after they get charged in court. If anything has anyone like C.A.I.R came out and said where they were going with all that stuff? I am supprised they made it though Georgia, I am white and cant get through that state without being pulled over for going 5 over the speed limit lol. If anything you have to admit they were up to no good and I for one am glad they were stopped.

Dear God I wish this were a true statement.
Had it been only 'someone' and a single 'key piece' then I might actually believe the governments version of 911, as far fetched as it is.

The final report by the commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks details as many as 10 missed opportunities by the Bush and Clinton administrations to detect or derail the deadly terrorist hijackings,

Washington Post

And thats according to them.

Have you ever heard of assumed innocent until proven guilty? It is one of those little things that supposed to be the bedrock of our way of life; or at least it was.

Besides all that 3 things make the whole thing suspect in my opinion.

(1) the FBI and local police can't seem to get their stories straight about what was found.
(2) Other than CNN and faux I have yet to see a single report on any of the other news networks.
(3) A news black out this administration? ROTFLMAO!!!

Only if they are trying to do something they don't want to get caught at.
The whole thing must really be flimsy because usally they would be crowing their asses off by now.
