Wow, I can't believe how happy those people are to see him. Don't they know who he is?

His watch was stolen.

his watch wasn't stolen, he took it off and put it in his pocket?

Exactly who cares???

The question regarding his Albania visit is this.

since when does Bush wade into a crows of his adoring "fans" ???

There is no way the secret service would allow the President of the United states to go high five people in the USA, let alone another country. When was the last time Bush high fived the public in the USA???

The entire visit and glad handing reaks of a well coreographed photo op...hand picked puppets made to look like fans of Bush.

I'm not buying it, not one iota of it.

Sensfan,

Interesting point for sure. I am going to look at this from your angle. A possible staged event? Hmmmmmm interesting.

A comment like that makes me think how realistic are your previous comments (and other too who share the same idea with you). Stop seeing a conspiracy behind everything. Gosh how little you people know from other countries. The crowd there and in other places was to greet not Bush but USA. How do I know that? Well it happens to be from that country and to know perfectly well the mentality and especialy the love and respect for USA. Is the only country who stood for Albania in 1912 with president Wilson. Is thank to Clinton (USA again) that stoped the genocide in Kosovo. Is again thank to USA that Kosovo will get the so much dreamed independance. And this is way to much for my people not to be recognized and appreciated. In that crowd and in between these people, Bush was safer then in his office at White House. Yes the crowd was real and YES the warm welcome was more then sincere and well deserved. The same hospitality received Baker in 1992 even though was only a secretary of state. Maybe there is still some articles in arkives from 1992 (maybe June, I'm not sure) that can confirm what I'm saying. I had friends in the crowd, I had relatives greeting Bush and cheering for USA (considered the best friend for my country) and believe me when I say. All you saw in the news is true.

As for the watch being stolen that's BS.
Never happened and never will happen with e friend. A friend and a person invitet as a guest, in my country is considered sacred. Besides he was in albanians Besë, which means word of honor (trust, faith). Meaning if they give you their word of honor only death can make that change. I repeat, Bush in that crowd was safer than in White House.

sure they do. And they took his watch to have something personal of his so they could put a hex on him.

This is the only thing i can come up with. Anyway, it sounds good to me.

I, at the least, care!
The white house official about it is: "no, the watch was not stolen!

So if it was, they are just a bunch of liers! And that is something that all the people must care of!

Umbra, you're not insinuating that

they would lie to us about the watch, are you?

But really, seriously, who gives a darn??? Bigger and better things have been stolen from prestigious places like the Louvre.

Besides, a TIMEX can be bought anywhere.

Ha ha, the questins and answers in Yaseannes ebay link are priceles.

Q: Will this watch tell me the time in other states or only in Texas? I have no use for a watch that only runs on Texas time.
A: Unlike the electoral process, this watch will work in most states...

Good Vid
It reminded me of the JFK video, the one where he gets shot. Although he only gets his watched stolen
. Anyways, perhaps next time!

Here is another camera angle showing that the president did remove his watch himself. Judging by this video I stand corrected, I was wrong saying it was stolen.

You can see his watch and the time stamp of the video.

Here his body blocks the view but it appears he is removing his watch.

As you can see here the watch is gone, I assume he put it in his pocket.

New video

Thank you, Souron. Case closed. The president removed his $50 Timex and put it in his pocket. I imagine it was very uncomfortable having people grab onto his wrist so heartily and squeeze.

This is the important question regarding his Albania visit (asked by dgtempe and several others already):

Even when the whole crowd at an Republican, Bush-loving event is heavily screened, he still doesn't walk out into the throng and make physical contact with people he doesn't know! Who are these people?

Yes, they love the USA. But look at it from Bush's security's point of view. Would they just "trust" that NO ONE in that crowd (perhaps an extremist of some sort - in a country that's 70% Muslim) would take advantage of the situation to do harm to the leader of the Christian world?

I have no doubt that Albania loves and supports the US, but would Bush's people trust that 100% of the people there felt the same way? All it would take is one person. One "visitor". One extremist. And as paranoid as Bush is... No, something stinks about this photo-op...

Bush was safer then in his office at White House.

I believe you. But I don't think the US Secret Service necessarily would be willing to take the chance.

End of story on this one.

well thanks I was fooled at first but this second video I think confirms Bush pocketed the watch him self.

Now I think the real story here is as others have mentioned, Why did his security team let the POTUS loose in the crowed. How did they come to believe it was safe to do so?

That is quite an assumption... Are there no videos actually showing him take the watch off?

Case closed??? As it stands, I can see no conclusive evidence either way.

Apart from that, I agree that the whole thing smells a bit odd. Anyone remember "Mission accomplished"?

I can't understand why they did this either. It seem extremely reckless and this is not standard Secret Service security protocol. Very strange indeed.
