I've heard of great things predicted in the bible and that once they are fulfilled we will have the second coming of the Messiah. So what predictions in the bible have been fulfilled, i.e. on what page are we now and what prophesy should be fulfilled next. Does anyone know?

I don't recommend using the bible as a tool for not only "prophecy" but for anything else. It's very easy to generalize and say "such and such will happen in the future".

For instance, I shall make a prediction right now and it will be fulfilled ->

In the year of 2007, the month of May, the 30th day at the time 9:23PM (EST) there will be a passing. A passing into death.

Not only is my prediction correct because of CHANCE it is also far more specific than all bible "predictions".

Based on what I see and what I've read, I'd say we're definitely in the 'latter days.'

Here's a good site that briefly touches on numerous Bible prophecies.

www.100prophecies.org...

As far as where we are right now, look at the 10 End Time prophecies and you'll see that we apparently are pretty far along in the time-line of Bible prophecy.

I'm about two thousand years past the Bible. Jesus said the prophecies will come to pass before the generation at hand will die. His generation died.

I took Jesus at his word.

Now we're dealing with the blow back.

Somebody needs to write another book......as long as their not Mormon.....

The generation that Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24, with the fig tree, was the rebirth of the nation of Irael in 1945!

So, in fact, this generation is still alive as we speak.

It's funny how a lot of people take what they want from the Bible. However, it is their perrogative, because Jesus never forced himself on any one.

Also, God works very subtly in this world, so much so, that only those who actively search for him, believe, and study his word with a steadfast heart will perceive the reality of what is actually happening.

The birth of Christ is a great example of God's subtleness. While the religious leaders and patronage sought a Messiah to overthrow Rome. God sends them what theyy really needed, a Messiah who comes into this world as a baby.

Although there are many prophecies (Isaiah mostly) concerning the birth of Christ, the religios leaders and scholars of the day totally missed his coming.

The end times, until the last three and a half years will be no different. Many will be taken by surprise (even those who are looking for the signs) when the seventh seal is broken.

Its time to go all oldschool on you.

I'm about 2000 yrs past most. War will do that for you.

Actually, the prophecy is.. the generation that sees the founding of the state of Israel will not pass before the Lord, messiah returns.

Based on what I see, it sounds pretty accurate.

This would not be going on were it not for the insane meddling of the NeoCons. They are stoking fires beyond imagining.

WRONG.

The number of days from the time that the rebuilding of the Temple was ordered during the Babylon captivity until the coming of Christ was precisely predicted--as I recall--to the day.

It was prophesied 2,000 years ago that Israel would be dispersed over the whole earth. And, then, that it would be gathered back to the Holy Land and become a Nation again "in a day" as happened in 1948 at the UN.

It is prophesied that the Temple will be rebuilt and that the Anti-Christ will set up his image in the holy of holies. And, that then, the Israeli's will realize that he's not the true Messiah and will begin to flee as the Anti-Christ begins to slaughter them from the courtyard of the Temple out. The Temple has yet to be rebuilt. There are persistent reports that all the pieces have been prefabricated and are waiting and can be assembled in a matter of months.

There is a specific Biblical prophecy about the era that sees Israel become a nation again after the dispersal . . . will also see a tyrannical global government arise headed by the Anti-Christ and eventually requiring every tribal group/people group to worship satan as god. And, we have the global government/NWO folks with they tyranny right at the door already.

There is a specific Biblical prophecy abut the mark of the beast WITHOUT WHICH NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO BUY OR SELL. And we are on the brink of the ID/RECORDS/CREDIT/DEBIT CARD CHIP IMPLANT being required of every human on the planet. Something similar is already required by law or near so for America's pets and farm animals.

There is a Biblical prophecy that in the end times "knowledge will increase greatly."

Another prophecy that predicts that humans will "rush to and fro upon the earth" traveling rapidly and far, routinely.

Another predicts that in one trauma, the world's poplation wll be decreased by 1/3. And, in another trauma, the remaining poplatio will be decreased by 1/4th. Then there are other deadly traumas after that. Interestingly, the NWO folks want to decrease the world population to 500,000.

Then there's the vague prophecy about signs and wonders in the skies. Certainly the UFO folks have been busy for some time racheting up that phenomenon.

Then there's the Biblical prediction about a great mountain being thrown into the sea--evidently a huge meteorite. And we now have less than needed investigations into asteroids that could easily fill that bill.

And, there's the Biblical prediction about men's hearts failing them for fear--evidently routinely at a given point in future time in the end times era. Certainly the world and events seem quite cocked to trigger such.

And, there's the rather specific prophecy that JERUSALEM WILL BE A BURDEN around the neck of the whole world. Jerusalem. It's not a major seaport. It's not the capital of a major power. It's not on the way to any where. It's not a major center of oil wealth or gold wealth. Yet, it is precisely as Scripture predicted at this moment.

The Bible predicted that the children of Ishmael would be routinely at war or at enmity against the children of Isaac and Jacob. And so it has been and remains to this day.

The Scriptures predict that Russia along with Syria and Iran will be allied against Israel in the END TIMES. And so it is.

The Scriptures even hint at humans residing in outer space-'yea though you build your nest among the stars, yet will I bring you down.' The space station appears as a moving star in the night sky.

The Scriptues also speak of the sun scorching mankind dreadfully during the Great Tribulation. Interesting unusual events in the sun seem to indicate that as quite likely depending . . . developing.

That's all I'm dredging up at the end of a log day off the top of my head. Some may well be able to add at least a few more.

In short, the contention that Scripture does not offer specific prophecies about these end times . . . is just plainy false--WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

Everyone takes what they want and what they will from the bible.

But not everybody is right.

The post above mine (previously) was dead on. The prophecy in question states that the generation that was alive when Isreal was created will see the return of the Messiah.

As a Christian who believes in the prophecies, I think we are very close. And the craziest thing is, I don't think we have to be. Based on the rule of free will (as established by God himself), I think we are driving ourselves by armageddon much quicker than necessary.

I than Bo Xian for his in depth analysis, which sheds further light on some of the end time prophesies that dbates pointed to www.100prophecies.org...

1. Jerusalem would become an international problem.
2. When Israel blooms again the Kingdom of God will be near.
3. The Messiah will appear after the Jews return to Israel.
4. The Gospel will be preached to the entire world.
5. The world would be able to simultaneously witness events.
6. Zechariah forshadowed modern warfare.
7. Many people will go to Jerusalem to seek God's favor.
8. Book of Revelation envisioned an army of 200 million.
9. The troops would cross the Euphrates.
10. People would be forced to receive the mark of the beast.

Regarding 8, I don't see Americans and their allies amassing an army of 200 million. Since they fight with technology to reduce the amount of troops needed. So the question is: will the Iranians and their allies amass such an army to protect their nuclear program. Iran is a massive country with 65 million people but they will need allies if they are to collect an army of 200 million.

That's interesting. I don't see any mention of Babylon in the 10 end times prophesies from 100prohesies.org, but it seems to be an important subject in end time prohesies. I remember in the movie the Devil's Advocate, the devil lived in New York which was perceived as the modern day equivalent of Babylon, in that light the 9-11 attacks may have biblical significance.

Saddam Hussein was building a city. The perfect city. A rebuilding of the greatness that once was. I remember hearing and reading about that back in the early 90s. Babylon.

Where are we in the Bible?

I believe we are somewhere between the middle and the end of Revelation, Chapter 13. "If any man have an ear, let him hear." Rev. 13:9

Okay so it seems that people in this thread are taking the bible literally, that would also mean that the earth 6000 to 10000 years old is.

Please corrct me if im wrong on that!

If that is indeed so then please explain why in this thread the earth a lot older is?

So are these scientist wrong? or is the Bible wrong?

If the earth were to really be that old then the Bible would be wrong wouldnt it?

The Bible doesn't say anywhere in it how old the Earth is. That is a date compiled by scholars adding up the years of all the genealogies, in the assumption that they are continuous and contiguous.

I don't believe the Bible is wrong about anything, but I do believe it is badly misinterpreted, and badly underestimated, by those who would seek to discredit it

Thanks for your kind comments re my off the top of my head inputs.

Have pondered the 200 million strong army for a long time.

I understand that logistically, there's no way to get 200,000,000 troops from say China or India to Israel--short of say UFO's the size of Los Angeles.

I would have to reread those Scriptures . . . I don't know if Scripture says that the 200 million is the King of the East's army or not. I don't recall.

Have lived most of my life understanding that was the case. But it may be an inference vs clear Scripture.

I have read recently . . . maybe in one of the following books . . . that the 200 million army are demonic forces from hell or some such. Somehow that seems more plausible. I think it would match Scripture, too but I'd have to check for sure.

Books am still in the middle of related to such:

GOD'S PROMISE AND THE FTURE OF ISRAEL by Don Finto;

PROMISED LAND: The Future of Israel Revealed in Prophecy by Derek Prince;

FROM IRAQ TO ARMAGEDDON: The Final Showdown Approaches by Keith Intrater

ISRAEL THE CHURCH AND THE LAST DAYS: Understanding The Last Days; The Hope of The World; The Church; The Kingdom of God by Keith INtrater & Dan Juster

EVERY PROPHECY OF THE BIBLE by John F. Walvoord

FICTION:

THE COPPER SCROLL by Joel CRosenberg--any of his recent fiction are illustrative of Biblical prophecy as it may play out in real events. such as his:

THE LAST JIHAD; THE LAST DAYS; THE EZEKIEL OPTION . . . and his website:

www.joelrosenberg.com...

Then for added emotion related to all the above: Mary K Baxter's two volumes:

A DIVINE REVELATION OF HELL

&

A DIVINE REVELATION OF HEAVEN.

Which is a pretty good description of her travels in the spirit realm observing such . . . vistas.

In terms of the 200 million strong army to descend onIsrael--or to try to obliterate Israel . . . Here is the King James Version from the public domain:

Revelation 9

1And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

2And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

3And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

4And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

5And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

6And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

7And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

8And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.

9And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

10And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

11And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

12One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

13And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

14Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.

15And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

16And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.

17And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

It seems to me, the 200 million are demonic forces or supernatural--other--forces of some kind.
