The hatred of the U.S. that fueled the hijackers was because the U.S. is the worlds imperialist state ("the worlds only superpower"), and the "foreign policy" of the U.S. is to dominate regions. That especially goes for the Middle East. This reality remains the same regardless of whether or not Al Qaeda is a CIA asset, or if 9/11 was a total inside job which even solidifies the American Imperialism as cause beyond precident.

Tonight during the debate, Ron Paul finally told the truth about why they hated US to a national audience. This is the first time of this happening that I'm aware of:

"They attack us because we've been over there. We've been bombing Iraq for 10 years. ... We've been in the Middle East," Paul said in explaining his opposition to going to war in Iraq. "Right now, we're building an embassy in Iraq that is bigger than the Vatican. We're building 14 permanent bases. What would we say here if China was doing this in our country or in the Gulf of Mexico? We would be objecting.
www.foxnews.com...

Giuliani was applauded for 'refuting' that 'claim':

"That's really an extraordinary statement," Giuliani said, interrupting FOX News panelist Wendell Goler. "That's really an extraordinary statement, as someone who lived through the attack of Sept. 11, that we invited the attack because we were attacking Iraq. I don't think I have ever heard that before and I have heard some pretty absurd explanations for Sept. 11. I would ask the congressman withdraw that comment and tell us that he didn't really mean that."

As I've been pointing out, the line of "they hate our freedoms" is not merely diversionary propaganda. It's actually true, depending on the audience, because when they say that, the "freedom" they're refering to is the freedom to imperialistically dominate and exploit the world.

On 9/11, Giuliani was the second person to make the "attacked our way of life" type claims, and did so roughly 4 hours after the towers collapsed.

As I've said before, any leaders who don't understand this core truth about the U.S. and about 9/11 is too incompetent to hold office. The flip side is they do know, yet don't admit it because they're stooges of American Imperialism.

I don't think I have ever heard that before and I have heard some pretty absurd explanations for Sept. 11.

What this means here is that either Giuliani is ultimately complicit in 9/11 due to his staunch support in the propaganda effort in the aftermath of 9/11, or he's clearly too incompetent too become President of the United States.

Yea, I saw that. It makes me mad that Guiliani uses 9/11 as a pole vault for his career. The fact of the matter is he turned Ron's words around.

He made it seem as if he was saying we deserved it - which of course he wouldn't say because he'd be stoned for that. All the man was saying is that everything we do around the world has a consequence. These terrorists didn't attack us because they "hate our freedom".

More importantly he was saying, that to secure the country, we need to be analyze more deeply the possible repercussions to some of the things we do.

I didn't see it. Caught this find by chance. Don't have / watch TV. I gotta get a good quality video of this event.

I'm wondering what sort of reaction he recieved, in total?

Well, Ron got a few claps. It would be safe to assume they were just polite claps though.

Giuliani got a huge applause. In fact, probably the biggest applause of any candidate of the night.

I had the opposite reaction and became very upset.

I checked the MSNBC poll after the debate. Paul had 68% positive. The next closest was Huckabee with 15%. Ron Paul wins again!

I did the Fox News cell phone SMS message poll:

You Decide GOP Primary Poll Results
— 29% Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney
— 25% Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas
— 19% Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani

Notice how they make Ron Paul the only small face out of them all?

It even looks like he's blushing or raging in that image.

I'm surprised Fox even made the dispute as top story of the debate.

I'm curious if any of those other debaters supported Ron during this dilemma?

Giulliani, if he wins the presidency will fulfill bible prophecy even more. Satan will be close then. From the ashes...

9-11 was magic, go read my post. Fools opened the pandoras box of stupidville, meaning certain western and eastern kings/politicians use magic and spellcraft to base there power seeking on, and its only them selling there souls, or following a false path leading us all down with them.

Giulliani seems to mobster for me anyway, i wouldnt vote for anyone but Ron Paul, hes at the least a cool and humble guy, but he has claws and can scratch.

So Mr. Paul said that America's actions in the middle east were a reason for 9-11 happening and Jewliani said that was outrageous?

Was Rudy high?

This Giuliani fella, think I've heard of him somewhere before, he sounds like a real friggin robot. He is not human, he is programmed. I say this because Human beings make an effort to identify with other Human beings. His story is certainly that the terrists are not humna, not friven by grievances but driven by an unseen evil emanating from our own fortune. Angry Arabs do not have an independent reality or will in this mindset, but are merely passive reflections of the observer's own ego. When Ron Paul tries ti humanize the dastardly 9/11 villains (we were told of anyway) he gets applause for insisting no such sentiment should be tolerated. Reason, recipricocity, sympathy, mercy, all out the window in a stark struggle of good and evil that they started for no reason but evil hatred of our splendidly successful goodness.

In my experience the world is not animated by good and evil, and if it is then the forces are pretty well mixed up in everyone and only concentrate in locations of great and immoral power. Politicians want us to see it their way though, to manipulate the power unleashed by massive epic struggles, even if they have to invent the struggles and fix their own lines. If there is someone beyond our deserved sympathy, it is the Giulianis of the world.

Since you touched on the early use of 'catchphrases', I came across something the other day that took me by surprise. I thought the term 'The War Against Terrorism' was a Bushism coined some time after 9/11. But at shortly after 13:10 EDT on 9/11, the ABC News anchor uses that very term in the following way (at 33:50 into the clip):

In terms of 'The War Against Terrorism', the US and Israel are seen by terrorists - the potential terrorists, the people who do one harm - as partners in this.

After this, they cut to a recording of Bush's first public statement, given from an airbase in Louisiana. Bush never used the term in that statement.

Anyone know of an earlier example of the use of this term? Did it pre-date 9/11?

It's the anti-semites in this forum that make me want to puke. A statement like this IMO discredits those involved in the truth movement. Bold was by me

How about not voting for any Republican candidates?

I hate to say it, but we as U.S. citizens have a historical opportunity to change the situation in the world, change our reputation, and change our military stance. We do this by voting for the Democrat most likely to win, with an exception to Hillary Clinton as I know many are love/hate when it comes to her.

The reason is because we have a Democratic House, and a Democratic Senate. That would give us the triple threat, and all the good things that have been held off and pushed back for so long could come forth. Things like stem cell research, things like real healthcare for the people, not just those with insurance. Things like alternative energy, which is held off because profits to the oil companies is simply too important to the very core of our economy. It stinks rotten.

Do you realize if all the oil companies removed their investments into our country, that the economy would fall on itself worse than the Great Depression?

So you see, many stupid things got passed into law while Bush was President. Things like the Patriot act, people didn't like that, they said it took away freedoms and such. And things like attacking Iraq. Things like.. not raising the minimum wage at all. These things all passed into law because there were no checks and balances to stop them. It was a triple threat. So naturally, if we do the same thing with Democrats, we'd get SWEEPING reforms with the quickness no doubt..

Because the next person to actually enter the office of Presidency is going to realize just what kind of mess was left on the desk by the previous. The easier it is to remedy those problems and fix them the better, and the best way to do that is a monopoly on the government. While I know Ron Paul is a favorite here, I think it would be a mistake to vote that way because the republican vote is going to be divided alot as it is. In other words, I highly doubt he will actually get the Presidency, and is mainly raising awareness. So if we really, really, dont want Gulliani as next president, or God forbid, John Mccain (Draft anyone?), then we need to unify into a single base. In this moment of time, the Democratic candidate whomever it may end up being would be the smartest choice, IMO.

Didn't you catch this weeks mainstream news? CNN reported 2 days ago that the democrat party sold out the voters.

Democrat politicians are all stooges of American Imperialism just the same. Scrape away their emotional moral wedge issues and they're the same thing. Stop self-identifying with these con men and you'll be able to see it for yourself.

Third party, or hang it up America.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results each time you do the same thing.

The one who will be elected new president will still be the intended agenda.

No matter who you vote for, won't change a thing.

The only way to not have a corrupted result is to over trow the whole system all together....

Sad but true.

Ron Paul did a standup job. He spoke the truth and they tried to hang him for it. We're not idiots, the republicans think they can spew the same ol garbage 'a la Guiliani' and think we'll fall for it.

If the terrorist hated our freedoms they would go after much more liberal nations like Denmark. They hate us because of our foreign policy which Paul pointed out.

Its funny that even though Paul came in second if you go to Fox news polls section they are still showing that Guiliani won by showing the 1st debate poll results.

You really have to dig to get the most recent polls

The memory etched in my memory of Giulliani on 9/11 are of him standing underneath the Towers assuring they would not fall. Then scantily running fastly to avoid being hit by debris.

I don't trust him as far as I could stomp him in the ground. Which I guess could be a far way, but it is a pre-requisite.
