Honestly, I know you're like a flag waving nationalistic patriotic person, but the truth is. The US could defeat England/UK/Britain/UK and Northern Ireland or whatever new name you guys came up with if a war did happen.

But it won't. And we should be friends.

Besides, British people like Big Macs too...ever been to London?! McDonalds are everywhere!

I guess it depends what kind of war it was. If it was down to who's got the most weapons, goes way over the top and generally makes a right song and dance about everything, then yep, you'd win hands down
...we'd just wait till you've had all your big explosions and high-fiving, got bored and want to go home then we'll come out to play!

I mean because he knows how to manage our economy... wait... I mean because he would protect our rights under the Constitution... wait... because he could stop terrorists? Improve our international image? Help us when natural disasters hit? Why was it we elected him?

I thought you actually elected Al Gore....

Precisely what 'standing' is this? That of simply being born. Wow! Thats one hell of a qualification! In which case, we're all kings and queens!

Bollocks! She's just a little old lady who hasn't done a days work in her life.

I think Americans like royalty because a lot of movies portray the stuff. Especially British royalty. If the Japanese Empress came here, nobody would care, or the Dutch Queen. But we have so many movies about old English royals, so I guess that's it.

And honestly, like probably 85% of the world hates Americans, and most Americans couldn't care or are oblivious so I doubt anyone cares what Lizzy thinks lol.

Interesting. Thanks for the response. Its always interesting to find out what the rest of the world think about us (other than the immigrants we get coming to sponge off our welfare state or take jobs British Chavs should be doing).

And for the record, whilst I detest US foreign policy (and its pretty similar to ours which i'm equally against), I personally don't dislike Americans. Find them usually pleasant and friendly.

To stand on the world stage as some sort of semi-deity, err, no.

If you want to be picky, nearly every woman in the UK worked during the second world war. Most of them didn't have servants to attend to all of the daily chores they had to take care of and so on.

So no. 'Doing her bit' during the second world war does not mean she should have lived a life of luxury and privilege before and after.

Does this adequately respond to your enquiry?

No most didnt, but then again most didnt live her life....its not all smiles and giggles.

She hasnt just "done her bit" in WW2, shes acted as an ambassador to many countries, ask yourself.....do you think she simply sits around all day in windsor whiling away her days?

Does this adequately respond to your enquiry?

No, but then again it doesnt matter....what does any of it matter....

Yeah here in london, we have a huge city with people from ALL over the world!
Meaning we have all kinds of food.
So if anyone says UK got crappy food think again, we have any kind of food you desire. Except maybe cats.

Oh please that was hardly a slip...yet some of you seem to be over-exagerrating how much of it really happened. I watched the footage and most of it went smoothly and was overall well structured. In fact I thought that little slip loosened up the mood a bit. I thought it was funny. Gotta love GW

She has achieved absolutely nothing. A monarchy in the 21st Century should offend every single one of us.

Aww. Poor Lizzy. Must be such a hard life with that freakish family she's inflicted on us.

No, she "attends functions" and "meets people". Big deal. We want/need an elected head of state in the same way that the US and France have a president. Ok, so we don't want the US or French Presidents but in a democracy, we have a fundamental right to determine our head of state.

No, but then again it doesnt matter....what does any of it matter....

Good question, can I get back to you on that?

For my sins, I've just been watching Bill O'Reilly (guess i find his type of insanity quite amusing). He raised an interesting point from a viewers email - perhaps it was scripted.

But as you say, big deal. Shame he didn't tell her to get back on the plane and bugger of back to where she's come from (Germany).

COME on. Have some class man.
This isn't a backyard barbecue.

Note how the Queen magically disappeared and reappeared on the other side of Bush to glare at him after the comment...

The next day when she hosted a dinner at the British Embassy she made light of it too...she said she wondered if she should start her speech with "When I was here in 1776..."

Geez. You've got an itchy trigger finger '77. Look, through the miracles of communist eco mentalist technology, she now appears on THE OTHER SIDE!! Oh how does she do it, she must be a shape shifting reptilian !!!

Weren't you the one that got all hot and bothered when some lead in footage was superimposed over Cheney's face on CNN?

Dude, what does this prove. That you're grumpy? That you've never used photoshop? That you haven't learnt from your mistakes?

What are you talking about?

Those were the original press images, I'm sure they didn't do a mirror image of one of them.

Anymore than the rising child sex rates? Anymore than the RISING gun crime? Anymore than the fact that we are losing a soldier almost every WEEK in iraq?
I'm sorry if removing our monarchy is not high on my list of concerns but frankly there are bigger issues than if we should have a monarchy.

Aww. Poor Lizzy. Must be such a hard life with that freakish family she's inflicted on us.

You telling me you would love to be hounded day and night by the press, be under the threat of assasination just because of who you are or even who your grandparents where?
Or is it because easier to critizise than to act...

What do you think ambassadors do? Speak to people down big red telephones all day? The first step to making a friendship is to actually SPEAK to the person, the best way is face to face. Simply visiting the country shows how much we apreciate that country, hell if we didnt we wouldnt talk to them.
We do choose our head of state, its called the primeminster, the house of commons controls what gets passed onto the house of lords and the queen herself.
The queen is head of state officially but its the PM who holds the majority of the power, hence why Mr Bush discuss's the possibility of wars with Old Tony instead of HM.

Good question, can I get back to you on that?

Good luck on that front, the majority of englishmen I have found dont understand anything that doesnt directly involve thier lives.

No dude, what are YOU talking about? Seriously what's your point, that's it impossible to flip a photo (which papers often do, b.t.w. mainly for graphic reasons). ? Because, if that's what you're trying to say, bzzzzt, next...

That flipping said photo, is somehow representative of liberal bias?

How are you sure, that they didn't do a flip horizontal (the actual function in P'shop) on them?

C'mon mate, you put it out there, back it up!

I'm saying that the second picture is being sold as the immediate reaction of the Queen to Bush's flub-up but it obviously wasn't. It was taken later when the Queen had taken the lecturne.

I disagree. Seemed staged. I think after the first few 'Bushisms" they started doing them on purpose, so folks would rant about stuff like this and others would defend.

It's all theatre. What else does a lame duck have?
