great idea for a thread

almost every UFO picture being posted recently are being debunked as CGI

so lets some ATS users create soem CGI UFOS

i'm very interested in what some of you guys can come up with

I would suppose suspected hoaxers of posted deliberate hoaxed pics & vids, would not be tolerated under ATS rules.
I really think hoaxes are not being created by ATS members, just purveyed by members for speculation.

Well i think this is a bad idea, it just puts more fake stuff out there and makes it easier to discredit the idea of UFO's in general and there is already a few threads of this kind anyway.

Then there is rule number 1 "1). Posting: You will not post any material that is knowingly false, misleading, or inaccurate."

I think what the OP was trying to say Dallas is that every clear or semi-clear UFO image that comes out these days is automatically labeled CGI, regardless of the evidence.

To gauge how feasible that really is, it is good to compare these supposed hoax photos to deliberate attempts to create a CGI UFO, and see if it really stacks up.

Blender is a free 3D design and animation program, and this is a gallery of what can be achieved with it.

Without a doubt, even using FREE software, convincing CGI work can be done...

Hear yah fooffstarr, hear the OP too. Suppose my underlying thought here is, what's to post from Members that's not already being ported as 'is this real?' or check this link or whatever. What's happening is pretty-much the same as this thread OP is asking?

i understand that the rules state to not pass things off as fake as far as this forum and everything related to it goes..

but for experimental and educational purposes.. if we can restrict these 'emulated' photos to this thread, we can maybe learn something... that something being that not everyone with a lil' story, a couple pictures and a video should automatically be passed off as a hoax.. simply because we live in a day and age where photo enhancing software is made possible and available to the public..

we can see how many people can come up with pictures or videos that are as visually stunning as ones claimed to be real. prior to the age where cgi and photo tinkering was made available to the public

Sounds like an interesting thought, Malakai. Just want to suggest you consider running your plan by the Amigos. Since they make the rules and enforce the rules after Mod and SuperMods make their decisions.

You know, I have Photshop and the first time I went into it (14 months ago) I ran like hell, Too complicated for me, for sure. Give a blank lotus/excel sheet and I may write you an auto-calc general ledger.

Looking forward to participating in your experiment.

Isn't photoshop lovely.

A pretty easy hoaxed photo, but to some it could be all the evidence they need.

I don't support making fake images, but I will bite this time.

I made this with blender in a few minutes. No real tweaking, just a simple craft shape on a black and white image.

I don't think it's against the rules posting a fake if you let it know in your post that it's a fake.

Right?

Dulcimer,

For the old picture approach in black and white, your object does not fit with the old photo theme.

It just looks like a black and white photo with a added 3d object to it.

You have to make it more grainy for a ufo to look like it was a old photo.

If anything, so far this thread only proves that it's harder then people think to hoax photo realistic UFOs.

Could someone here please create a fake UFO CGI movie that's the same rez/pixel count as a standard cellphone?

-- or even if someone could simply create a fake UFO photo that has the same ocular distortions seen in cellphone photo's, that would be the next best thing.

Theres a simple solution to all of this. When you make the pic or video just add some text somewhere that says it is fake. That way it won't leak somewhere and get mistaken for a real claim. Simple?

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Above link is one cellphone photo entry by anonymous that's in the Cell Phone Pic subforum.

There are other threads in that forum of other cellphone photo's sent directly from members, cellphones to this forum.
