I saw my first UFO three years ago. I wasn't a believer of any sorts. I mean, I was curious about life on other planets and all, but I mostly
thought that UFO reports weren't to be trusted. This kinda shook that mindset a bit, haha.
Here's the picture I've drawn of it, as I didn't have a camera at the time:
Key:
Gray area - where houses and such are. Above that on the mountainside, there's nothing but a footpath or two. NO roads.
Yellow - one of the largest buildings before it goes to wilderness. Think medium mansion kind of size.
Blue - reservoir that was being built at the time. The UFOs were almost right over it, so it sticks out in my memory.
And the
white asterisk is roughly the point where they disappeared at the end of the sighting.
The
green obviously represents the UFOs -- the large "mother" craft that was generally in the center, and then the swarm of
little ones that were around it. There were 10-20 of these small ones.
What happened:
I'd woken up at around 5:00 a.m. My cat had been sleeping at my feet, but she jumped off -- the movement startled me and I decided to get up and
follow her. I figured I'd have to pee anyway.
I walked down the hall and to the kitchen, thinking she'd gone there. I didn't see her anywhere, but I moved toward the window anyway, as I wanted
to look at the stars -- not often that I got to see them at that hour. We've got a pretty good view of the mountains from our backyard (they're the
same ones that are in my avatar); if I walked to the bottom of them, it would only take me 25 minutes or so, so they're not very far.
Anyway, the green lights that you see in the picture are as I saw them when I first clapped eyes on them, only they were a little lower. The big one
in the middle only moved up (very slowly) towards the peak, but the little ones were darting everywhere. Not at the insane speed of an insect or a
bird or whatever, but in a deliberate, slower sort of way. They'd stop here and there, then after a few moments they'd move on again. Even though
they kept fairly close to the main "craft", the thing's sheer size meant that they still covered a good portion of the mountainside.
I ran back to my room to grab my glasses and my binoculars. Even through the binoculars, I couldn't make out much of a definite shape beyond the
lights -- it was just too dark. (Initially, however, I was certain that the middle craft must be an actual saucer
Not so sure about that now,
as I only saw that line of lights -- doesn't mean it was round.) The lights were all blinking too, in a sluggish sort of way rather than quickfire,
so occasionally they'd flicker out of view for a second before reappearing. That coupled with the movement of the little ones meant I couldn't get
an exact count of them.
I watched these things move gradually up the mountain for nearly an hour, 'til dawn approached. Then I lost sight of them as the sunlight turned the
mountain into a great mass of glare. They may have disappeared into an overlap in the mountain just prior to that, I don't know. I just know they
didn't appear above the peak, which could have highlighted them against the sky.
I talk about this lightly now, but at the time I was scared to death.
I thought everything from "they're poisoning the mountainside to spoil
the reservoir!" to "oh, they're just collecting plants! They're scientists!" I was too terrified to even step outside, thinking that they'd
somehow see me. One thing's for sure though -- I have no idea what they really could have been. I don’t know of any planes that do that. We
don’t get fireflies here. And there are no roads up there. So my mind went right to the only alternative I had -- ET UFO, blah blah blah. Who
knows now. Any ideas?
