Calling all UFO peoples!! Your chance to explain what and why you believe!!

Yeah i am with you to some extent. By no means am I trying to claim that I have the answers to all sightings, no way man. But, it is just that it makes more sense that the majority of the sighting can be explained in some way. Maybe atmospheric, weather, aircraft, whatever phenomena you want to plug in here works.
In the world today, there are less and less areas that are totally away from prying eyes, not to mention a new technology that could, let's say reach speeds in excess of Mach whatever. It takes awhile to iron out the bugs or even turn aircraft around sometimes. I dunno man, I am just skeptical of the jump to ,"alien alien, it's gotta be alien".

Gazrok makes some great sense, as does Doc Velocity of you review their posts, matter of fact everybody does in their own ways. It's sorta like Fox Mulder says, "I want to believe", but so far I just can't go that far out on the limb and put all my eggs in that basket. With the UAV's and UCAV's out there and in development, I think we are beginning to understand that what was once impossible is now very probable.

That's kind of the beauty of it... there's no need for "belief"...it's perfectly healthy to simply have an open mind and be open to the possibility of it....

Then again, regardless of anyone's "belief" in something, it's either real or it isn't...the act of belief or nonbelief is unrelated to reality (except for maybe perceived reality...)...

true. but if you see a disc in the air hovering...and then just takes off extremely fast....then whats your first thought? Human technology ? lol come on u think the government would let you see that? if it was theirs lol very doubtful...like i said they dont need to test aircraft in public airspace...they have miles and miles of military airspace to test their technology. just like they did the with b-2 stealth bomber and just like the SR-71 AND the f-117 nighthawk.

i am of course open to the possibility of most ufo sightings to be military craft. however its not any more logical than them being extraterrestrial.

i can Guarantee you. if you ever went into outerspace in orbit around our earth i can ASSURE u ,you will see ALOt of things u cannot explain...just like a dozen astronauts who left NASA said they had seen things "unexplainable" ...and they had degrees in pyhsics,aerospace,aerodynamics etc.

i like to think that until you have actually been into space...u have no idea what goes on up there....all we know is what NASA tells us ...and some scientists.

for all you or me know ....there could be passing starships ALL the time. and me and you wouldnt know about it cuz we arent in NASA are we? we dont go into space every month? or "been" in space for months....u can only see so much from earth ...alot of it we dont see unless we are IN space =)...anyways just something to think about.

To be totally honest, if I saw an object hovering and then take off extremely fast, yes i would have the first thought of, "Hmm, I wonder how we did that". You may not believe me but as I stated before, I have a background in aviation (military) and have been overly impressed by a great many military things, some that you may have seen, others I can almost assure you that you have not.
As a matter of fact, Zaphod58 and I were just talking about this same issue today. He was Air Force, while I was Navy and we were comparing some sights and info regarding this same sort of thing, and guess what...very uncanny similarities!!
I admit that there may be some type of craft flying in and out of our orbit, a NASA style thing, but then again maybe not, right..we just don't know. There may even be things there that we cannot perceive with our sense....again, we just don't know. But, I bet dollars to donuts that what has been seen is in fact very terrestrial in origin.
I'll give you this though, some of the stuff out there is very freaky, and I can totally understand that most people make that leap to thinking the are aliens!!

Nicely put Gazrok, I like that staement very much! I agree it is the beauty, nobody trying to prove anything I suppose, just what a person believes and we all have our reasons why!

With all the people out there trying to get noticed for whatever reasons, the youtube stuff is such a bogus attempt at attention...99.99% of all those vids are a joke...But I do like the recent one from the girl in her backyard...freaky although pretty doctored up for a real situation I think!

Seems the thread is dying a bit, maybe that's all theer is to it, no real decisive arguements can be made?? UFO's exists no doubt, but the alien factor is the one in question and seems improbable at best to me. However, if they do come, I will be among the first to not be surprised by their technology and to say, "wow, pretty cool".

you see.. there is PHYSICAL proof.. people want physical proof.. well there is

on one ufo file episode.. i saw it a while ago, so the details are vague.. but bare with me, i remember what mattered...


it was pertaining to an old man who saw two beams across the sky during the evening.. was with his wife, in their late 50's. got out of the car, witnessing a small, glowing orb fly to these two beams.. then, something fell from the proximity of those beams towards earth, sort of like a meteor.. it trailed behind close by hills and the two beams this man and his wife saw disappeared. the man, logically, went over those hills and found this object, still red hot... wrapped it around a thick cloth and put it in the back of his truck.. he later took it home, presented it to all the scientists at all of the top universities, mit's.. and it came back that the object was not of earth, and extraterrestrial.. and that the compounds in it ranged from a certain decimal which could only rule the object originating from mars.

it was ALSO found out that in the 1940's, in Austria, the military there found the same EXACT object this man did.. you actually see the object and the man explains his story... its the shape of an ice cream cone, but like a meteor tail...

it was the same EXACT object.. and the military ruled it out to be a UFO.. and it actually shows the documents where they declare it a UFO.. also having the same compounds ranging in that certain decimal level which could only rule it being from mars.


this is what the scientists said back to him...

but then, the scientists came back and rejected their last statement saying that it was extraterrestrial.. a higher up told them to retract their prior statement...

he still has the object, its shown on the ufo files, it shows him.. he sais he never wanted this to happen, didnt want to be ridiculed and he didn't want all of this...


he's an old man when he tells this story, very genuine.. he really didn't want this to happen.. and because of it now, he's ridiculed..

and skeptics look for proof.. well go watch that ufo file episode with this man.. that is absolute proof and no one can say it isn't until they watch it themselves.

there will never be PHYSICAL proof of alien existence to the PUBLIC unless

1. we land on another planet sometime in the future,and find life.

2. life comes to earth and presents themselves to us PUBLICLY. lol



basicaly all im saying is that...if i found an alien spacecraft....only i would have proof of it (unless i showed it to someone else) ....but i highly doubt anyone in ATS has found an alien spacecraft...or is an astronaut...so its not pyhsical proof.

Mondogiwa it was the incredable speed that this thing left the garden that shocked me. It was a bright, sunny day, just an ordinary day in the London suburb's. The ufo sped off in a vertical direction at terrific speed. Even as a child i knew that what ever it was, what i saw, it was impossible to do that. Would the MOD try something out in a built up area like that? Maybe these day's when anything is possible, but not back in the 70's That's my view,as i can only guess what it was. I know my Mother spoke to a neighbour once about ufo's although my Mother had never seen one. The neighbour told her that she saw one come from the direction of the allotment's, which was at the end of her garden and stop above her house, then shoot up in the air at phenominal speed. This apparently was at night. The neighbour was a close friend of the family and the whole family a bunch of intellectual's. They were the sort of family that seemed too sensible to be true, so it was a for gone conclusion that the neighbour did'nt lie. It must have been around that time that they were discussing the subject. I was only little remember, but i know what i saw. I was old enough to know it was'nt normal, let alone a weird experiment by the airforce etc. Surely they would have done better testing out alongside the red arrows. Though it would have left the red arrows standing that's for sure!

Mondogiwa, where do i start with all this? I have mentioed a few thing's, but there is so much that has happened that i really don't know where to start.

I'm sorry to sound so vague. I will try my best to make sense to you and and everyone else on this site. Basically from when i was a baby strange thing's have happened to me and around me. Thing's that cannot be explained. As a child i would be found wondering around in the garden, sleepwalking, something that i use to do alot. My parent's could never work out how i got out in the first place, as we lived in an old house with big stiff old mortice lock's top and bottom of the doors that i could'nt possibly have reached. I was only a toddler in any case. My Father worked shift's and i would terrify my Mother with one senario after another. One time she found on top of the roof of the outhouse. From that night on they had all the windows in the house secured, but it never made much difference. As time when on the incident's became less. Get this only last year a coke glass exoloded in the palm of my hand. My cat had knocked it off the coffe table. I picked it up after half an hour as i was busy doing something. I put it in the palm of my hand as i could'nt work out how the top of the glass had smashed, leaving effectively a green tumbler. The top was smooth with no sharp edges. I was intrieged and as i knelt down examining the 'tumbler' in my hand after a few minutes as i was about to pick up what had smashed the whole thing exploded into trillion's of tiny shard's of glass. Luckily it exploded outward's away from my face. ( I was that close!) It looked like glitter as it all dropped to the floor. My friend who was with me stood up mouth wide open! I thought he was gonna pass out. The colour draining out of his face He comes over more than ever now, eagerly awaiting the next chapter! Oh there's more, much more!!! Thank's for listening.

Please believe me this is no joke. I am lonely in all this and although i have witnesses it's not quite the same. Why me???

I have no idea as to why the strange things have happened to you, and i will note that it's interesting that they seem to occur less frequently now! When I look into anything, I have to approach it from a practical, almost linear approach at first. With that said, the things that happened to you as a child are difficult to verify...by that I mean you, as a child, cannot really remember in too much detail what and how things happened. It's just the nature of all children to group events together. Dreams for instance, are very scary to children because the have not yet learned to differentiate dream from reality..therefore to them, dreams are just as real. That being said, I wonder if you did abnormal things in your sleep? Night terrors, we have two boys that have these! Sleep walking, growth pain/joint issues that can cause some agony, etc...
Now, I only mention those things for you to take into concideration as a child! it seems that as you have aged things have gotten more intense but less frequest..is this correct??

Please tell us more of the bizarre things that have happened! It is easier to look into the how's and why's of things when you have a progressive timeline to look at!!
