What is the government's motivation to keeping UFO data secret?

I think the problem is the Government knows about as much as the rest of us. My experience was they were aware of unidentified objects but, had no idea what they might be. Aliens ships though were not at the top of the list. I am afraid what the Gov would give you would be just more questions.

They either want to use UFO and whatever secret projects they have in general to their advantage for some reason, or its not as hardcore as i think it is.

What do we really have to gain from learning about it?
Technology?
a Higher Understanding?
Diplomatic Relationships with other-worlders?

I just accept whatever the outcome of the many-worlds interpretations will be.

If one knew for certainty, we wouldn't be having this conversation here arguing are they here or not, and the world would change already. The reason why it is thought so, is there are so many cases, so many people talking about contact being done with aliens that somehow it is not realistic to think every single encounter has been a lie. There are many cases but since what's on the internet is too vague - blurry pictures, videos, that's not enough,

One can only speculate, there are much better pictures hidden from public but all the public gets is the crappy evidence. It requires a godly amount of patience, but once you come across hundres of sources dealing with the topic, you cannot dismiss all as being lies.

Well does the government support the CIA and secret labs and fund companies
in government contracts. And knows all the phonies and their stories of aliens
and makes sure they stick to their tails. Why, in two words: free energy.
I can't figure why but it looks like the government does not want us to have
free energy UFOs.
