DARK TOWER - This is what the Jews did not manage - getting every single thing right with God . So that is why he gave his only Son to suffer a horrendous death to - exchange mechanical obediance with the LOVE of pleasing him. Jesus was God in the flesh so He took on this pain as well.
This is not a licence to sin but to replace the LAW with hearts of love and flesh rather than stone . A poor analogy is that say your children hated you and only did your bidding to get you off their backs instead of helping you through genuine love.
So our every action goes into our book of life but accepting Jesus can
tippex out the bad bits .

This ( the Crucifixion )must be the only way between good and evil - or love and hate or God would have used an easier way.

The words he said that would take him to Hell was that he did not believe
in Jesus - the rest could have been forgiven.
He was a money grabbing aldulterer like most of us . Thank God it is about repentance and BELIEF in Jesus and not what we have done in the past or I would not stand a chance.

Ah, I see.

A man who tries his best to help out the poor and impoverished, a man who wrote a song telling us all to forget our differences.

But he's going to hell because he didn't believe in a god for which there is no evidence.

Yeah, thank God that god doesn't care about WHAT we do in our lives, or the good deeds we do, but instead worries about whether we think his son exists.

About tithing....you guys seem to think some of God's commands are trivial while others or not. The point of the revelation was those against God...went to Hell, those who bravely chose God went to to heaven. To not share is to not trust that God will provide.

In the Old and New Testament there is a command from God to give your first fruits. Tithing means give a portion back to God of whatever your harvest is. If you are a farmer you donate a portion of the food you produce, if you earn money you donate a portion of that.

"What is you can not afford to tithe?" If you have the harvest you have SOMETHING you can share. We are commanded to share. When we do not share...this is when we get greedy.

Everyone thought this tithing was a ridiculous request of God...I do not get it...seems like a very good thing to me to share the fruit of your labor.

John Lennon tried to reason people away from their faith....not only did he reject God...he convinced others to follow him...straight to hell, which is where we go when we deny God.

This vision is false. From many NDE accounts I read (www.near-death.com...) Jesus is loving and forgiving. There is no way Jesus would be like the way described in the thread's vision.

No "good deeds" are useless if you have not faith and trust in God. Works without faith are empty. If your husband or wife did all your laundry, made money he or she shared with you, mowed your lawn...but ignored you and had affairs...would the good deeds be enough.....

NO...that is the ultimate meaning of Live...we are here to LOVE God with all our heart, mind, and to serve Him. This is greatest command and the only way to be happy on earth and eternally. Good deeds should flow from this...if we do not do them for God...we only do good deeds in our own vanity..making us look like a "good" person-but are empty of meaning.

Yes, you are dealing with a Child of God, who believes in religion, faith, sin, heaven and hell. Pleased to make your acquaintance. This is an interesting topic isn't it?

When I used to leave the house, I would always take my Lennon pic from the White Album along. I poked two small holes so I could see through his eyes. That way people would simply think you're a Beatle. Is he really in hell? I doubt it, though it is possible. Only God can judge in the heavier matters. If he was a blaspheme, one who knew better, I suppose it could have become somewhat complicated. If so, I hope he brought some acid. What good is hell without it?

Scripture is very clear...Jesus is forgiving only up to the moment of death. All NDE then say we judge ourselves....and those who have rejected God are too ashamed to proceed into the light and are condemned by their own shame.

Sure, the person might be in the Void (call it "Hell" if you wish) but if they accept or think of the love of the Light (God), they will get out of the Void.
I believe NDE experiences more than anyone who didn't have an NDE experience on this topic.
