Hi DaMa9eD

Sorry, I have a Tivo DVR, but not the service. So I can only cache 30 minutes of time then it dumps the video.
But thanks for the offer to help. i have uploaded everything except for a still screen shot showing the show info on my DirectTV menu. (Just for a reminder when it aired)

Best regards,
DirveByReader

Hi DriveByReader,
WOW great find !
might i suggest trying to contact the director of that program to see what he/she says anything about it. You could try and find out who the camera guys were and if your lucky you might just get your hands on a genuine story!!! Hope you get a break.

I don't think it's a blimp the third clip seems to state a more soild object and the shape and size just say UFO to me....

And it is broad daylight and there is a massive oval object in the sky I think there would have been many reports if it was not a blimp.

Reports from where and to who? Notice the UFO spotted over O'Haire International Airport was also in broad daylight and spotted by many people, as well as reported to the FAA, but news of it hadn't been released till 3 months later.

Heh, maybe I'm a bit to paranoid for my own good - but I wouldnt have said anything to anyone before I had the DVD Copy in my hand ^_^.

DJMessiah, my thoughts exactly.

Digthat- not too paranoid about something I saw on TV. Just trying to find out what it was.
If it was a touchy topic for MIB's, I am sure TLC or Discovery Channel would have been "roughed up" by now.
And hypothetically speaking...If I was ever visited by MIB's it would only be confirmation to many questions. Plus, a CHP,12 guage loaded with 1oz slugs, and my lady with an iron griddle makes me feel fairly safe.

Or maybe you just wouldnt recieve the copy

I believe that's the real deal.

It might not be from outer space but it's definitely something you don't see everyday, good catch.

I hope that part isn't cut from the dvd, hopefully it can produce a better picture.

O'hare object, grey under grey sky. This object blue under blue sky. Maybe it mirrors it's environment.

You could be right DigThat, I might not get a copy, but at least the noted event is out and hopefully ATS's can help search for information. Just got to wait till they mail me an ordering packet or whatever they do. If anybody else is interested in obtaining the video...more power to ya. The info to the production company is posted at the begining of this thread. If somebody wants to call and try an attempt to talk with the editing people....like I said...more power to ya.

Pocket- those are neat photos, dont know how to classify that cloud formation....not lenticular or cirrostratus formations...looks kind of like something perforated through the clouds. Cool though.

Getting the Copy from the station is a good idea. I think once you get it the blimp theory will hold up. Let us see the new footage when you get it.

wow - nice find. could be a blimp... it does look like it's revolving in the 3rd clip though.

Might be able to buy a copy of the show from the network. They often sell copies of shows. Usualy in the neighborhood of 25-50 bucks a pop. Then you could see what it is clearly. Watching the first video I saw some strainge pixlation on the ufo that might have been by the digital camera but others may scream photoshop.

It looks pixilated and some clips appear to rotate and change colors because the OP is video taping a TV screen, which has distorting effects. When you try to videotape a television screen you get a weird motion effect. I am not sure why - someone with more AV knowledge can answer that one. Also it doesn't appear that the TV or camera are HD or digital. Maybe I am wrong on that one but neither seem to be producing a high quality video output but again, maybe that is also because this is a video of a TV screen.

As for rotation in clip 3, the OP has paused the video for a moment to examine the object. The effects making it look like rotation cannot be the object because the screen is paused. If you watch the original the object is only visible for about half a second. The effect being seen is something to do with videotaping a TV screen.

Hi Zerotime,
I will tell you exactly what I used to obtain the video.
I was watching the program via Direct TV (NTSC mode).
MyTV is capable of 1080i, but the video feed I was watching was in NTSC.
My DVR receiver from DirectTV (since I dont have the "Tivo" Package) only allows me to cache 30 minutes of video. I dont have any way to truly save video on my DVR until I get the packaged deal from Direct TV (why do I feel like I am giving Direct TV a plug?) So, the only thing I had handy to capture what was on the screen was my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 5 megapixel camera in its video mode. Ofcourse resolution is not going to be superb recording with a digital camera off a tv monitor....the refresh rate alone is a pain. That is why I am trying to obtain a video from the prodution company that did the spot. Once I get it, I have a buddy that is good with A/V and will get a zoom in on the clip (Blimp/UFO/Flying Metal M&M) and post here.
What I saw looked interesting and not like a blimp....especially its movement right at the end. Like I mentioned previously...it is now a matter of sit and wait.

The blimp idea gets thrown around alot because it can be the most logical reason. Yet nobody has researched blimps in that location of Loudoun County, VA during what appears to me to be recent Spring/Summer time? If there are any suggestions on how to research this while waiting for video to come from the production company...I am all ears.

Best Regards,
DriveByReader

Hi DriveByReader -- great clips and can't wait till you get the video in the mail!
That object up there looks very interesting but one should also keep in mind that sometimes UFO's are not seen with the naked eye while that part of the sky is being filmed where amazingly enough, they only show up on playback. Who knows? This may be the case here too!
Looks like it's something worth investigating. Also, one can always find out from a local source if a blimp was up in that area on the day this video was recorded ... if not then I would say that that object up there looks very interesting indeed ... at least so far.

Thats a fantastic find and great that you had Tivo to show us all. I agree with others that in the 3rd clip it looked so unlike a blimp compared to the first 2 anyway. There are some blimps out there that look like this, but not revolving ones I'm sure.

Knows it!

Hi. I'm only sticking with the blimp theory because I live in Columbus Ohio and I see a bunch of blimps in the sky. Blimps are out for every OSU football game and lots of other city related activities. When I see them off in the distance I know they have to be a blimp but at the same time they do not look like blimps. The angle of flight and the horizon tend to create almost an optical illusion and the more I stare at them the more the more I think there is no way it can be a blimp, however, when I get closer to them I am always disappointed because they do turn out to be blimps. I had always thought about filming the blimps for UFO purposes and now I really wish I would have done it.

I cannot tell the size of the object from the video, but I guess it could be possible for it to be one of those advertising blimps like this one: www.theartofair.com...
