Wow, Duby, I was clicking back to this thread to post the same thing!!

I can honestly say I don't exactly understand the science of the GCP but, from what I hear around this board, it's quite interesting.

I sort of "get" that site but its complex! Has to be said though, something does seem weird today!

This is getting really creepy real quick, today at around lunchtime in Glasgow (1.45pm) I was walking through the center and was a little surprised to see an ambulance just outside the subway, then I noticed three white vans (they looked suspiciously like unmarked police vans) then two fire engines appear on the scene, as I kept walking up by the the entrance their was four police cars, it seemed like an obvious statement of a "police presence" just outside the subway, the officers were standing just outside the subway entrance looking edgy then they went down into the tube. I kept walking back to work thinking all these scenarios in my head terrorists? bomb scare? etc. then another car (unmarked looked like police had blue sirens, had no other distinguishible features) comes down a street a block away from the subway sirens on and cutting through the traffic, Id bet my house that it was heading for the subway. Anyway I went back to work... as soon as I left work I could see that the street I walk down (on my way home) was cordoned off with police tape, though it wasnt stopping people just walking up and down anyway, it seemed that they were only concerned about one side of the road (not minding if people walked up and down the otherside) and did not want traffic going through that area, I noticed that a small gas van was parked on the otherside of the street, this now after reading the previous posts has me spooked.

When I saw the magnitude of the emergency services outside the subway I was expecting the police to be trying to "evacuate" and tell people not to go into the subway, but they didnt and people continued to go in. When I got home I was expecting something on the news aswell but nothing? this I found surprising and frustrating as I have never seen anything like it, and I thought it would at least break the Scottish news.

Ok people calm down, lets not get paranoid. Stuff that is happening today, while wierd, happens all the time all over the world. The fact that a few major incidents (smell in ny, bomb scare in Miami, tanker truck leak in Tx) happened on the same day is making the news because of the conincidental nature, but that kind of stuff happens all the time. Now people are actively looking for any little story that has the remotest similarity and is thinking it's some sort of worldwide related event.

Relax people, most of these events will turn out to be nothing, and everyone will be fine.

Seriously though, if nothing else, my understanding was that's what the point of the skunkworks is--to try and throw all the noodles at the wall and see how many of them stick.

Gas leaks happen all of the time, all over the world. Now its going to be news every time?

There has been some wierd stuff today, but a lot of this is purely coincidental -I'm usually the first to cry conspiracy - but we gotta take a deep breath here.

Now I see a thread dedicated to all the quakes going on around the world today... Apparently Antartica is flipping its lid and all sorts of volcanic activity as well...

I'm going to propose a theory here about the gas leaks, not very well thought out mind you, but something at least....

Most--if not all--of these events are taking place in areas that general have low levels of seismic activity, if any at all. Per some other threads (that have already been linked here in this one) there seems to be some rather strange activity going on beneath our feet.

Civil engineers in L.A., San Francisco, even Seattle probably, would expect earthquakes and would build accordingly. An engineer in Albuquerque probably wouldn't.

Is it possible that most of the gas leaks going on--and possibly even the birds in Austin to some degree--are being caused by an increase in low-magnitude seismic activity?

I know once you look at the seismographs for a couple of days, it doesn't look very impressive--there's always a ton of activity. But just food for thought if anyone's hungry I guess.

I agree with Sensfan. I say its just a coincidence, now only because we see these three big incidents, we go searching the news websites for things that have happened many times before.

Its no big deal, lets just wait...

Well since theres all these gas leaks happening all over the world, I thought I may aswell throw this one in there aswell haha. There was also a gas leak here in Auckland, New Zealand too. Now that seems VERY odd, there are strange things happening all over the world at the moment

the houston gas leak is from a truck.

sounds strange, but, it happens hear all the time.

i live in pasadena tx. near 225. AKA chemical row.

they pass out shelter in place videos every couple of years, telling you what to do if a chemical leak is detected, and shelter in place is called.

It states in the link that El Nino starts by a rise in temperature of the ocean and is due early 2007.

Well, I'm started to collect every interesting, strange event.
1 - O'Hare Airport UFO (USA)
2 - SL4 Re-entry over the USA (Which was surely not an SL4. It was quite larger and arrived with a large delay)
3 - Austin's dead birdies (USA)
4 - NYC Gas (USA)
5 - Miami C4 or what (USA)
6 - Houston Chemical Cloud (USA)
7 - Russia cut the oil from EU countries (Happened around #4, ended around #6, Hungary got the last doze of oil. From this time, we need to open the oil reserves guys.).

And by the way, I would take in the very strange weather, which is very-very unusual all over the world. 6 + 1 strange event just in the US.

As I see, we already have a busy year, while we're in the 8th day of 2007. And believe there are plenty more events out there. So, these stuffs are just interesting coincidences or... who knows? Connect the dots.

Let's say that we are our own terrors, (hypothethically) yea right. Maby we are testing these odd smells of non tainted gasses on a large test group. So that when we use it in the "Israle and Iran" massacure after the talks in Feb. We get it right! What do you think?
