Something Special Going On 1/8/07???

Okay--summing up here:

Confirmed Gas Leaks (or at least reported as such by reputable media):
1) Albuquerque, NM
2) Syndey, Australia (sorry about the state)
3) London, UK
4) Blue Springs, MO

Strange Fumes:
1) New York, NY

"Poison Gas" Leaks:
1) Sugar Land, TX en route to Houston, TX

And of course the issues in the Port of Miami.

AND the birds in Austin, TX (That was the one that really caught my eye this morning too; can't believe I forgot it...)

Am I missing something so far?

Yeah that methane gas stuff is....frightening. That has to be the cause of several of the baffling things going on around the oceans. All of these new stations are not speaking about any of these events....need to see foreign reactions.

The dead birds in Austin Tx...and the many Barn Owl Deaths in Idaho these seem to be deaths caused by passing traffic but hundreds are dying each day, check CNN for the link...What is odd is this all surrounds Bush's speech on Wednesday...what is he doin..hmm..

I checked SpaceWeather and didn't see anything standing out on the page that would make me say yes. They are simply focusing on the big comet that we can see, and a sun pillar.

It would be interesting though. I don't know much about this kind of thing, so maybe some of our member with a better understanding can look into it?

It could be phantom smells of a few people then the media makes alot hype or just shows a story and everyone starts to think they smell something and freakout. Just a guess.

Ok so Im a numbers nut, I see the number 1:11 on clocks, addresses, you name it, Im drawn to it constantly! I have a lost thread somewhere here on ATS about these occurences but just listen to this The President's Speech is on 1/10/07 the beginning of the new world will take place on 1/11/07 notice the 111.

Anyway - tho only thing weird here on the west coast so far is lots of strong winds and very warm temperatures - i mean like hotter than a hot summer day hot...

The only gas I smell at the moment is my own (I think)...

Maybe the Bushmeister will make one of those "Deep Impact"-type speeches and we can all head for the caves on Thursday...

A house blew up in Blue Springs, MO from the gas leak. Is supposed to be capped off, now.

You're right - it's very warm today. And we've had some serious winds in the last 3 weeks - gusts over 100 mph in some areas.

I have NO idea what's going on at all...I have to get somewhere, so will be away from the 'puter and any news for the next 8-9 hours...I hope there's a world to return to after work. LOL.

Good grief, but this is so very odd. I can't remember another time where such widespread oddities have occurred simultaneously...I think I'll make sure I have a tank of gas....

I don't want to post this in either of the more direct threads because this is a very loose and shaky connection, but:

It's a coal-based power plant. As I said, I can find absolutely nothing that makes this seem like more than an unfortunate accident--they use hydrogen for cooling purposes, and something went wrong. I also can't find any direct link with Nalco, the company supposedly involved in the Sugar Land->Houston chem scare.

That disclaimer out of the way, Nalco recently started working with Argonne National Laboratory to improve water management for coal-based power plants.

If this were a "normal" section of the site, I'd leave this out; since we're in skunkworks though, I figured I might as well.

On a side note, I went downstairs just now and there is a Dodge Caravan parked in front of my building. Gov't plates (never noticed those before) with two military dudes (reserve camo I think) sitting in the truck. No offices of interest in my building. (that I know of).

That's what I heard; that's the only reason the plant explosion caught my eye at all. Even then, only because I saw that Nalco and ANL are working on stuff for coal-based power plants.

No clue if any of this has any basis in logic at all, but there's just a lot of weird things happening today.

Hopefully King's wrong and coincidences haven't been canceled--it'd be nice to see all this stuff just play out as entirely unrelated events.
