France, Germany, Russia, China and some other nation did what they th they had to do. I can understand their choice, even if I don't agree with. But now these nation have to assume their choice
These nation aren't stupid. They knew what would be the result of their choice. So now I say : ASSUME
And assuming mean " NO SOUP 4 U "
The least the US could do is open the market for all countries giving the Iraqi people a say, after all they wanted to free these people. This would also help make up for the SLAP in the face the US gave to the UN and go a long way to mending some injured bonds between countries that resulted from this "war". It would be in the best intrest of all countries. It just shows how greedy and self-centered they really are and that they don't give a crap about doing what is right.

1) First arrived, first served.
And for those who didn't help the Allied , NOTHING.

2) Because for you the UN are great ? The UN are a dictatorships club.

3) Tell this to France and Germany. When I see how they deal now with Spain and Poland, because these 2 nations were in the Allied side, I would be ashamed to be french or german.

I don't like the UN either, but the US did sign an agreement.

You guys believe what you want, but this is wrong, war is wrong, killing is wrong, #ing bush administration is wrong. I know it isn't just them, but it makes me ashamed to be American and I would like to see my country setting a good example of how to exist in an international community with out taking over the world and to respect that not everyone has to live his/her life as the US government dictates.

Overly proud Americans are just as much to blame as the current administration. Humble yourself.

Ya see, if you don't share in the orgy of blood in violence, then you don't get to carve from the still quivering bloody body that is Iraq with the rest of these ghouls. That's basically what it is here.

Colonel: Ha, great analogy.

"if you don't share in the orgy of blood in violence, then you don't get to carve from the still quivering bloody body that is Iraq with the rest of these ghouls."

I notice that Iraqis have no say in who gets to help rebuild their country.

How long before there are AK-47 toting greeters at the front door of Walmart Baghdad?

Or Mosul McDonald's rolls out their first McFalafel?

A quick question to people from nations that are banned from competing for this 18million of US tax dollars.

Do you really believe your countries should now have the right to profit from this?

If I was Iraqi, and I was just "liberated", I would assume I would at least have some kind of say into which countries and which companies get to help me rebuild my country.

Do Iraqis have the right to say "No, we are not getting a good deal from Bechtel, I want to deal with Oil Inc in France because my brother-in-law works there and I trust him"?

Do you think they feel that's "freedom"? Do you figure maybe they resent the fact that Americans are outsourcing reconstruction work while unemployed, qualified Iraqis sit at home cleaning their rifles?

therefor we followed resolutions on what course of action was possible and took it.

We didn't follow resolutions, GW Bush made up his own and attacked no matter the UN said. The UN Resolutions said to have the weapons inspectors, not for total destruction of Iraq.

People hate america because we are huge #ing HYPOCRITS. We tell nations what not to do then turn around and do it ourselves. Why does no one else see this. I can't believe people think that 9/11 happened because they think the terrorists hated democracy, they attacked us because they hate the fact we don't practice what we preach.

I fell out when I read this article:
"Saudi Envoy Slams Iraq War Opponents"
Link:
customwire.ap.org...

Excerpt:
"Bandar said he thought it was "amazing" that war opponents now "feel they have a right to share in the pie" of reconstruction contracts.

He said even more dangerous than terrorists themselves are those who say they condemn terrorism but don't actively fight it."

I thought it was hilarious in one respect in that what he said, for which I agree with, of those "crying foul" in removing Saddam are the very same ones still "crying foul" over the rebuilding of Iraq....and in another way...below:

Most interesting is that the Saudi Family has explicit ties to terrorism themselves:
"KING'S RANSOM"
Link:
www.newyorker.com...

Excerpt;
"Since 1994 or earlier, the National Security Agency has been collecting electronic intercepts of conversations between members of the Saudi Arabian royal family, which is headed by King Fahd. The intercepts depict a regime increasingly corrupt, alienated from the country's religious rank and file, and so weakened and frightened that it has brokered its future by channelling hundreds of millions of dollars in what amounts to protection money to fundamentalist groups that wish to overthrow it.

The intercepts have demonstrated to analysts that by 1996 Saudi money was supporting Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda and other extremist groups in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Yemen, and Central Asia, and throughout the Persian Gulf region. "Ninety-six is the key year," one American intelligence official told me. "Bin Laden hooked up to all the bad guysit's like the Grand Alliance and had a capability for conducting large-scale operations." The Saudi regime, he said, had "gone to the dark side."

And yet, in the first article I mentioned, Bandar says:
""We are your friends because you have never taken an action that would hurt our people, Bandar said"

Riiggghhhhttt...

Wait, You are crying foul because France, a nation who's women have more balls then the men do, won't be able to profit off of the American/British/other allies hard fought victory? When American and British and other troops were being killed the French were busy crying and whining that war was wrong. Now that war is over, they crying and whining about who gets to profit off the deaths of the soilders sent to liberate Iraq.

Now if France/Germany/Russia had sent troops and money to Iraq we would let them in to help rebuild it. But they didn't, so f*ck them! Wait, censors turned off, SO # THEM!

Now it's an oppressed nation, but before it was a nuclear power? That was the initial reason. Where are the WMD you talk about? I don't even see any with "made in Iraq" stickers on them. how in the blue # is this nation opressed? are you still not in front of your computer spewing the same anti bush BS other people are on here spewing? are you in a concentration camp? have you been thrown into an oven? have you been removed from your home in order to house bush's elite gaurds? has the military come and killed your family because you spoke out against bush? have you been gassed? have you had your family taken from you? what exactly have you lost??? it doesnt seem to be your freedom of speech as you are still here! doesnt look like you lost your dwelling or your posessions. what are you being kept from doing pray tell? what has been done to you that is so horrible that you feel like you are a third world citizen. what has been done to you exactly that makes you spew this accusation of opression???

you dont have a #ing clue what real true opression is and you never will as long as you live here. want real opression? go live under kim jong il's thumb.

none of you really have a clue what opression really is. not even i do but i know the patriot act, while it doesnt sound great sure hasnt done anything to me! i can still do everything i did before its enactment. nothing in my life has changed. i dont feel opressed, i dont feel down trodden. i live in a country where i can do anything i want! i can speak out (and i have) agaisnt the polticians that run this country and i'm not sitting in a cell. THAT would be opression. my family hasnt been killed because i spoke out against them. THAT would be intimidation. i still have all my posessions and my house. taking those things from me would be opression.

you people disgust me. we have it so good here and you dont even realize just how good you people have it.

i have a news flash for you, if their was REAL opression in this country not one of you who live here and speak out against bush would be alive at this point. you're whining just to hear yourselves whine.

you're not happy unless you feel absolutely miserable.

most of us have it better inlife than 90% of the other people on this planet and this is how you show your gratitude for a wonderful life, by whining about living in the freeest country on the planet.

ingrates! thats all you are! goddamn ingrates, you dont deserve to live here with your piss poor attitudes. tell you what Mr. i feel i am being opressed, leave the country and let a person who has been really opressed take your place. do them the favor and do me the favor, let some appreciative people who have only known opression come here and live here. i'm tired of the whining and complaining, i want to be with other people who know when they have the good life! i want to share my country with people who know they have it better than most people could ever dare dream! not you whiners who seem to enjoy playing the role of victim.

Not at all Colonel. But it's pretty easy to stay outside from the fight and then claiming that you have some rights.

These countries, especially France, Germany, Russia & China, were opposed to the liberation for greedy reasons. They didn't care about Irak and/or Irakis. They had in mind only their own financial interests.

These nations don't desserve any US dollars. If I was Bush, I won't even give them 1 cent. Anyway, these 18 billion will go to Irak. And as these 18 billion are coming from the USA, the USA have the right to do what they want with them. The USA don't tell to these nations what they have to do with their own money, so I don't see why these nations think that they have a single right on this money.

The US violated international law for financially selfish reasons---the oil resources. Admit it. That was the first thing Bush said in his speech on TV annoucing the war,"Don't harm the oil fields." (Paraphrasing). So, don't act as tho the US was being altruistic and humanitarian.

These nations should have a right to have a competitive bidding process for contracts---which would SAVE US tax dollars. But, they won't because this war is a fraud upon the world to steal the oil and to reap huge billion dollar profits for Cheney's Haliburton, Bechtel, and its subsidiaries. So, my statement stands:

funny how noone said anything about halliburton or even bothered to question them when clinton was in office....after all they had contracts during his terms...and a few presidents before him. is anyone aware they've had contracts with the government since the vietnam war? why is it people only say anything about the past 3 years when they've been doing business with the miltary and the government long before cheney became the VEEP and even before bush 41 took office??? i guess the other 20+ years dont matter huh?

BTW its not cheney's company, say what you want and believe what you want but it isnt his company, never was to begin with. he severed his ties 3 years ago but that doesnt matter you'll go to your grave convinced of what you want to believe regardless of what the truth might be.

a terrible way to think but its your right. i'm just glad i dont think like that!

one last side note here. halliburton does things that no other company can do so more often than not they get contracts more often. they've shown they can produce when others cannot. but think what you want, you will anyway.

Oh, God. Cheney STILL gets paid from Haliburton to this day. Don't you know that?

Cheney Still Taking Money from Haliburton

Contributing to the war-profiteering mess, Cheney's still getting $1,000,000 / year from Haliburton who was awarded a non-competetive multi-billion dollar contract for reconstructing Iraq.

Source: the Guardian, 2003-07-02 00:00:00.000

www.thetip.org...

And, while it is ok for Haliburton to take contracts from the military, it is a conflict of interest when the former VP who STILL takes money from Haliburton to set up no-bid contracts for them. It's illegal!

Heil Hitler.
