Leeds have turned down an offer from a Premiership club for highly-rated goalkeeper Scott Carson.

The 19-year-old has not played a game this season but has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Carson impressed when he deputised for Paul Robinson last season, but Neil Sullivan has been first choice since the England keeper moved to Tottenham in the summer.

Leeds United are set to swoop for West Brom misfit Artim Sakiri. The Macedonian international was put on the transfer list by Baggies boss Bryan Robson as Sakiri has struggled to get first team action. Sakiri has started just 11 games since his move from CSKA Sofia 18 months ago, and has now become surplus to requirements at The Hawthorns. Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell is now set to offer Sakiri's career in England a kick-start by offering him a two-year deal at Elland Road.

can he be buying over the club?

Leeds United have confirmed they have held talks with former Chelsea supremo Ken Bates.

Bates has been linked with Leeds over the past few weeks and despite denying his interest last week, it has now been revealed that he does have interest in investing at Elland Road.

Leeds have admitted that Bates is involved in one of the consortiums currently involved in looking at investing in the club.

The agent of Everton pair Gary Naysmith and David Weir has confirmed to skysports.com that Leeds are pursuing his clients. Both players are out of contract in the summer and should not be short of suitors in the close-season, with Leeds heading the race for their signatures. Jim McArthur, who represents both of the Scotland internationals, admits that he has had informal contact with Leeds chief Kevin Blackwell but was keen to underplay any talk of an imminent deal.
