Are there any flat earth theorists here?

Supposedly, there are people out there who believe the Earth is flat. I was wondering if one of them might happen to be here. It would be interesting to see what their take on the world is.

I don't know about flat - but I have a pretty wild theory going myself.

It's pretty long and detailed, and not at all consistant with the Flatlanders ideas, but I'll b more than happy to throw you a couple bones if you're interested.

Those pictures taken of earth from outter space changed my mind.

Not flat earth but I know there are many Hollow earth theorists here, I myself am undecided on whether earth is hollow or solid.

But I dont want to change the topic sorry.

General Eyes what other plausible theories are there about earth.

Haha yeah I was just about to say, Google Earth is all the proof I need!

I think if there were any flat earth theorists on here they've probably been de-bunked and humiliated so much by now that they've given up on it or not come back to ATS. That's just the way things go with extreme theories.

According to flat earth theorists, all of the pictures are hoaxes...They say we have never been to the moon.....et cetera et cetera.

What about Spy satelites that have orbits.
What about communication satelites that have orbits.
What about the independent Space craft one that launched from white knight and achieved space flight.

Then theres flight plans for planes that use the curviture of the earth for lourney lengths.
Other long range coms take the curviture of the Earth into consideration.

I think the Flat Earth conspiricy is just a little far fetched as conspiricy theories go.........

I'm pretty well convinced that the earth is a spherical object, as are the moon and the other planets and the sun. Photographic evidence and the vicissitudes of intercontinental travel are pretty convincing.

All one has to do is fly an airplane and see for yourselves the curvature of the earth.

The Flat Earth Society needs to get a life.

Aren't eclipses proof that the earth is round, shadow on the moon, etc. Don't know what the "flat earth" people are thinking (or should I say not thinking).

They would probably just say that it is your perception deceiving you. "There is no shadow," yada,yada.

The Earth IS Flat!

But this thing called gravity sortof curved it and looped it, and made it into a sphere.

Oh well.

There's enough controversial, fascinating, yet-to-be validated fodder @ATS to keep thinking folks busy for years. Why r u wasting time with flat earth stuff?

We may not understand all physical or natural science law properties in the universe, but celestial mechanics and the overwhlming empirical evidence of spherical bodies in the solar system and beyond is fairly well understood, superbly documented, exhaustively analyzed, and irrefutable. Not so for some of the other stuff.

Don't be discouraged, however - keep posting. Just come up with some proof, any evidence, ANYTHING AT ALL to substantiate even a miniscule portion of this absurdity, and you may attract an audience of sane inquisitors.

Thanks for the chuckle, though - I though all the flat-earth folks 'left the planet' decades ago...

The earth is a flat piece of land firmly attached the back of a giant space turtle that carries us around as it looks for more food to eat!

just wanted to make an off topic point that its interesting how recently the word "extreme" is being substituted for the word "ridiculous".
