Just to bring my suggestion/idea up to date..

I still think a sub-forum in the SCI-TECH forum for robotics
should be created.

I've compiled a list of threads (that I've started) since August
on robots, notice it's slowly been increasing.

Battlefield Retrieval Robot

Huggable Robotic Companion For Kids

Intelligent Robots By 2015

Robotic Train Station Employee

Robot Identifies Fine Wines And Cheese

EMIEW Navigates Crowds

Segas Drema Pony Robot

Realistic Skin For Robots Created

P.E.B.B.L.E.S Teleconfrencing Robot For Kids

Actroid 2.0

S. Korean Robotic Security System

AIC-CI Cooking Robot

Dancing Robot Technology Helps The Elderly

Bluecollar Robots Get Dextrous Hands

Katana Nimble Robotic Arm

There are sure to be many other threads (a good amount by me)
about robots and developments in the near future.

It's time for a Financial Forum.

Half the conspiracies on ATS go back to who's holding/manipulating the money. I think a Financial Forum would be very timely right now, and for the future, since things don't appear to be calming down, and the old rules no longer apply when it comes to markets and money.

Just my .02.

We Need A Dedicated Drama Forum

You know, a place where members can talk about how unfair and oppressive the ATS management is, how ATS is out to get them, how we're run by the government/out to make money/covering for the New World Order/controlled by aliens/etc, how "ATS is wrong" because our members don't agree with them on everything, how it was unfair that they got warned for something, how the mods are Nazis in general, how a friend was unfairly banned, how other forums are better/worse, etc. etc.

I mean hey, it's not like there aren't enough of these sorts of threads to justify a separate forum, you know. And I think my reputation as one of the worst drama queens on ATS qualifies me to speak authoritatively on the issue of board drama, you know.

So I say what ATS needs is a dedicated Drama Forum!

Oh wait, we already have a dedicated drama forum.

Never mind.

Vox Populi

Meanwhile, on a slightly less flippant note...

My advice for members wanting new forums is to contribute posts and threads that would be suitable for such a forum.

While I'm sure the admins are influenced by many things when it comes to creating new forums, the most concrete influence I know of is an abundance of threads on topics that don't really fit in existing forums.

These can be started in forums like Website-Related Discussion, Other Current Events, General Chit-Chat, etc.

If the admins see enough threads on a particular type of topic, I imagine they might be inspired to make a forum for them.

As always, what drives these sorts of decisions is member demand, and no form of member demand is more compelling than what members are actually talking about.

Just sayin'.

In the future? Come up with a way to make the threads and the information within them more searchable.

I mean, as it stands now I stay away from the "ATS Big Threads" because the multi-pages and the navigation tools are so totally cumbersome. ATS has a search engine that is far, far below what the quality of content on ATS warrants.

So yeah, since I just saw this thread I figured I'd post the most obvious thing: All the successful threads that have lots of participation (and therefore become long threads) are unusable and unwieldy and it's a real drag. Maybe if any money comes into ATS we can have a search engine which actually can find data intuitively and which has a form that's somewhat user-friendly? That'd be the first place to spend the first dollar, IMO.

I would like to see a 'hit counter' for PODCasts. I assume that everyone who listens to a PODCast doesn't leave a comment. It would be nice to see how many people have downloaded/listened to your PODCast, and it would also help (at least me, anyway) to determine which topics/format etc. are the most appealing.

Has anybody bought anything from the store? If so what? And where do you wear/ use them?

I bought the ATS Logo Golf Shirt. Not bad for the price. The material is a little on the thing side, though - will be a good summer shirt. I just wear it whenever - to the store, meeting freinds for a few drinks etc.

I have to say that having cruised the net for proof as to whether Jamie Lee Curtis was born a hermaphrodite, I would really be interested in an URBAN LEGEND forum to investigate and prove/disprove current circulating mythlogy in modern culture.

I think it's high time we had a quoits forum. Beach quoits, rope quoits, plastic quoits, league quoits, giant quoits, pub quoits. Yes, a forum for all things quoits.

And maybe Perquackey.

If you're signed up on ATS, you can post on BTS,
as well as PTS.

They're all seperate pieces of the whole.

Any member can post in the Forum.

Here is a list of all Forums linked to this site:

AboveTopSecret Forums
BelowTopSecret Forums
Politics@AboveTopSecret Forums

There are a few forums you do not have immediate access too, but they are rare.

Really Above Top Secret is a Forum you need to purchase access to in the ATS Store. First months fee is 5000 points and every month afterwards is 250 points. The difference with this forum is that search engines are not capable of picking them up.

Other Staff Only forums are off limits to members as well. Nothing we can do to help you on those though.

General Permission

You need to ask Lysergic for permission to post in General Chit Chat.

And if he says, "Waaa, wtf? R U teh g-man?" or "No wai!!!" or something like that, you're in.
