Worst Ads Ever! (SkepticOverlord's Ad Hitlist)

I thought ATS members werent supposed to get pop-ups ??

So far I think ive gotten two or three today ??

have the policies changed ??

WHAT IS UP WITH THAT ???

Another mouseover ad covering the menu. Covers everything from "Home" to "Tools" and no checkbox to make it go away. I had to refresh the page just get to the MyATS button.

There may be something else running on your computer causing the pop-ups. There is no pop-up initiating code appearing on the pages for members.

Just wanted to pop in and say I have pertty much given up coming to this forum due to the ads. First the aliens noisy ad and now heroes. It's worse than hotmail here.

Which is again, why this thread exists. So we can report problemn ads to be added to the filter.

Sorry, no, that is not the case. This thread exist so people feel as though we have some say. Like i said, if the site owners are unable or unwilling to filter ads before they feel the need to give us a thread they either do not care enough, or have no control.

Its like a lot of sites, the members are great, the site owners are greedy. You do not NEED all the cheap, rip off adverts.

maybe...but the increase in ATS ad activity and all this commercialization BS (in my mind) is related to the declining economy, especially in America

I posted this in its own thread before a mod helpfully closed it and told me to post here. I'm not necessarily complaining about this ad, just wondered if it fit in with ATS policy about non-recruitment There appears to be a discrepancy between the T&Cs which prohibit recruitment in posts and the display of this particular advert on ATS.

I'll let the ATS staff decide if they want to block this particular ad in future.

It's members who can't recruit, I didn't know that applied to advertisers, does it? I know members can't advertise and advertisers can so advertisers have different rules, or that was my interpretation.

I have nothing constructive to add to this thread--no one else did either.

What I require is to see that screen that comes up when you send off a reply. One of those phrases on it bugs the Hell outta me.
Someting such as Message alert sent." I need to know what that is all about.

HI I made a thread about the annoying Paranormal Activity 2 Ad that took up half a page with the static and ghostly face, It also obscured all the buttons at the top so I couldn't access any of them.

and Springer asked me to complain in this thread instead....So here I am.

Look I realise advertising is a fact of life and all, but I don't think any ad here should be able to interfere with the functioning of the board. I draw a line at that myself. It turns me off.
Hope something is done so this ad stays in the section at the extreme top and not be able to migrate to take up half my screen and cut off access to function buttons.

Please remove the very triggering and invasive add for the paranormal two movie...its gross and I dont need that sh*t in my head...its a PTSD trigger..and a deal breaker as far as Im concerned..i get you guys need advertising dollars but shilling is an entirely different matter.

Just got full page browser jacked by the Clone Wars rollover at the top... Problem is that the "X" would not close the ad. I don't know if I just had an unlucky moment with it, or if others have had this happen - but thought I would mention it.

Same. please get rid of the clone wars ad. clicking the "X" to close does nothing and the only way to get rid of it when it happens is to refresh the page. Why add an "X" at all if it does nothing...

Well, you got my first click-through.

that almost never happens, by the way. Honestly can't remember the last time it did.

It was an ad, in Japanese, for a sale on michelin snow tires, something I am actually planning on buying in the next two weeks.

Something to consider, really. Instead of papering the site with Evony ads and zwinky (all I usually see), or TV shows that air on networks only in the USA, how about actually advertising something USEFUL? I don't mind seeing ads if they're something I actually use.

Thankyou! It jolts my nerves, takes up the entire screen and to close it I have to scroll across to find the X thats not readily visable anyway. Everytime I refresh a page I get the bloody thing.

I remember ads with one of the guys from Jersey Shore (The Situation) hawking some kind of enhancement product.

I'm glad they're gone. I hate that douchebag.

So is anything going to be done about these full screen intrusive advertisements or not?
Could we have a definative answer either way so we can then make a decision on whether we want to come back here or not while it persists.
It's really rude to be totally ignored.
