That's bizarre whaaa....similar thoughts on the same day. I haven't felt it as so much "pending" as in "about to happen" but it has started and there is no stopping it once it's started.

well - in my case - willing to bet it's just an inordinate amount of caffeine

or barometric pressure

or the fact that my neighbors are gone for the weekend and forgot to turn off their alarm clock

Jeeves, some oj, please. Make it a double. And a tuna sandwich. I gotta take this echinacea with a meal.

Hi, everyone. Lucent

Well, I had high hopes of dropping by this lovely holiday weekend ... until I got home from work Friday. It hit me after lunch Friday, and by the time I made it home, I was ready to crawl into bed, under double blankets, shivering, my sinuses stuffed up, a little achy, a little nauseous, throat a little sore, slight cough no appetite ... stayed in bed all three days... taking tomorrow off work, although today I'm finally feeling a lot better.

Actually, I did sit outside in the sun and read. But, honestly, Sat and Sun I couldn't even get myself to turn on the computer, I was so lethargic. I think the only reason I'm not feeling any worse is all the rest, water, juices, vit C, over the counter day and night stuff, as well as the echin and Zicam.

So... I think this is that swine flu... as it is sweeping around town... highly contagious... turns out that the news is reporting it as being mild... but a flu it is... running its course... so I will return when I'm feeling better.

Ciao!

sorry to hear it desert

recently went through it myself - but I don't think it was swine flu - because I wasn't scared of dying or nothin'

just remember: fluids/sleep/fluids/sleep...

- please take care

There. I sanitized my keyboard, so I won't spread any virus around here.

Are you ever right about the fluids/sleep cycle, Spira! I'm going to add, sit outside in the sun. Only when all the above fails should one approach a doctor.

At the outbreak last Spring, it sounded severe. But from what I've been reading/watching lately, swine flu symptoms have been mild this time around. Locally, there have been several documented cases (those that have been to a doctor and gotten tested). All the families are back in town, the schools have been open about three weeks, so this stuff (highly contagious apparently) is going around quickly. Lots of people in stores sick, etc.

I remember flues so bad I, A) thought I would die, or B) wanted to die, but this isn't one of those. I'm thinking, that not everybody who ends up getting sf will go to the doctor's/get tested specifically for it. So, for each person that does, there's got to be plenty that won't.

So, I'm hoping that you really did have the sf, so you and I are now sf resistant. Yay! We'll be also resistant to commercials about getting sf shots. Yay!

Oh, our good ole truck is back from the shop. Good as new and ready to get back out to the Mojave, when temps are a little cooler, though, like sometime in October. If MrD doesn't get the flu, we'll go on a test drive by packing a lunch and heading to the hills for the day this weekend.

Well, I will get back to that lovely rest/fluid cycle.

Your music is propelling me forward on the road to wellness! ... and, Spira, I swear I'm not making an A.S.S. of myself with that statement ... really, EB, I'm in the mood to feel better and, lo and behold, you show up with your music ... and one of those things around your neck to hold the harmonica.

Heya peeps... just pokin in for a read...

Get better desert! I know how it feels to want to die.

Hey Spira! I had an interview for minimum wage at a small town coffee shop... jeesh, she lit into me about being a smoker and how offensive it is. I found her offensive. She lost a hard worker and another customer. Not ever ever ever working for someone like her. I will eat dirt.

Good for you S. And as long as we have a jar of pickled eggs and the kitchen stays open here at LN, you won't ever have to eat dirt.

Sorry I can't stay. I'm just coming over to LN, because I can't find the ladies room over at the A.S.S. thread...really, there is such a thing...ask whaaa. Spira's quick wit as she banters back and forth there leaves me laughing so hard I'm about to pee my pants. ... we seem to do that here from time to time.

Hey, seagrass!
Thanks for your well wishes. I am feeling about 96%, back at work. The sf apparently can leave one with a runny nose (and even cough) for a few days. But I'm not contagious. Yay! Unfortunately, a co-worker with an underlying medical condition does have it bad.

Seagrass, your story prompts me to remember this memorable quote...
"As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again." ... as only Vivien Leigh could deliver that line.

Funny how real life just doesn't compare to it and yet it does. Pride is pride.
Not going to take it anymore!!
Yet I will probably still buy some mints to make myself feel better. Or at least smell better. lol then that will wear off and I will go back to being a "dirty smoker".
