to rap.

This is the best and most misunderstood music ever. Now I happen to rap (pretty weird, going to be a Russian soldier in 1 year AND rapping.) Rap has many faces. It can be incredible, violent, or sad. Songs could be about gangstas and being tough, but they could also be about your life, your hardships, how the world is and about love, though I don't prefer the latter. I myself love to listen to gangsta rap, but I often listen to songs from the peoples heart, too.

Check this out: My favorite rapper is Tupac and here's a good song from him that EVERYONE that has a heart should love. Its called DEAR MAMA. Everyone should listen to it, even those that don't listen to rap should give this song a try.

My favorite songs are:
DOCUMENTARY by Game
WHEN WE RIDE ON OUR ENEMIES by Tupac
2 OF AMERICAZ MOST WANTED by Tupac
DATZ ME by Young Buck and Young Bloodz
WE BANG by Guce and Killa Tay
WHAT YOU BEEN DRINKING ON by Jim Jones, Paul Wall, P.diddy, Jha Jha

Now for people that arn't into killing and being tough, here are some good ones for you:

LOCKED UP by Akon and Styles P
DEAR MAMA by Tupac
I AIN'T MAD ATCHA by Tupac
LIKE FATHER LIKE SON by Game

and others, especially by Tupac as he has alot of emotional songs.

About my rapping, I have written some songs and hope to get them recorded by the end of this year.

Alright, peace out!

Enjoy Rap!
Its the best!

I like rap, especially in my car
plus I think I have heard and know most all rap by heart since my youngest daughter listens to it all the time
I mostly like new rock & roll, and old rock from the 70's though.

PUKE!!!!! GAG!!!!!! O.M.G.

I hate everything about rap, I know lots of people who don't even consider it a form of music. I personally call it Crap music.

Rap is just another variation on pretty standard Formalist poetry, with its concentration on phonemes and word sounds rather than traditional poetry with its weighty referencing of earlier recognizable works (see T.S. Eliot's The Waste-land, for example). Anyway, Formalism was done a lot better by the Russians in the early part of the last century than the current rappers, although some of them have a small degree of facility with the form.

The problem is most Americans judge entire genres of music based on what Clearchannel and MTV tell them is the genre. For a while I thought that people like Gretchen Wilson and Billy Ray Cyrus were all country music had to offer. Then I listened to Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, and my mind was changed. I figured that Poison and Ratt was the best Metal had to offer, then I listened to Metallica and Candiria. Punk Rock was Blink182 and Green Day, then I was opened to Bad Religeon and Dead Kennedys. If all people base their ideas of rap on is 50Cent and Nelly, then they'll be missing out on a lot of stuff.

Immortal Technique, Cannible Ox, Atmosphere, Digable Planets, Dead Prez, Nas, the list goes on and on

I have nothing against rap. One of my favorite bands raps even. That would be rage against the machine.

Hiphop however i just dont like. All those songs on tv are the same with very few good ones between them which i dont like because its not my taste.

Since everybody's throwing out generalizations, here's mine.

It's probably because most people who come here are white.

Russian soldier, HELL YEAH!

That is KRUNK that you're a Russian who likes rap! The Documentary is a hell of a song.

What I don't get is that most people who knock the violence in some rap genres turn a blind eye to the literal Satanic feel of some metal genres.:shk: Take "Dig" by Mudvayne; that song's all about suicide. It's still a great song, though.

Verses from Dig
"Let me help you tie the rope around your neck
Let me help to talk you the wrong way off the ledge
Let me help you HOLD UP A GLOCK AGAINST YOUR HEAD!"

Yeah, Truthseeka, Documenatary IS a hella of a song. In fact I know all the lyrics. Before I write the lyrics, I want you to know that Russia has rap, too, though its not as good as US rap, I have to admit.

Documentary lyrics written out of my memory

What happened in hip hop that got pac and big shot?
The thick block
now every rapper claim to let his clique pop
but even myself told the gun
know the run
got shot, I've been there before
now i'm # with big doc
gotta do the colorados numbaz
if not i push rocks
intesipating
my incarceration
media thinkin i'm faking like mason
but when it comes the mace # off kelly, I don't take it in the face
i find out who sprayed, and i'm putin you under the pavement
no budhist, priest, catholic or bapstist pastor can save you
i'm far from religious, but i got beliefs
so i put canary yellow diamonds in my jesus piece
i came back from the dead without a part of my chest
laid in a hospital bed on cardiac arrest
i've waited for 3 years while everybody else dropped
now i understand why nas did a song with his pops

Chorus: I'm ready to die without a reasonable doubt
smoke chronic and hit it doggie style before I go out
until they sign my death certificate all eyes on me
i'm still at it ill matic and thats the documentary X2

Documentary, If I die my # , # that
I did a song with mary blije, my #
got a hook from faith, no verse from jay
i guess on westside story he thought i spit in his face
told ed lover and monie love I was talkin to Ja
with that maybach line, it was payback time
keep # with me #, i'll put you under me
take yo car, trade it in for 8 300Gs
if you cross my t
i'll doubt yo eyes
you'll do life in the cemetary
i'll do mine with shine
come home sit in the throne
with my legs crossed and my airforce
middle finger rough # the world
cuz i'm feelin like puff when life after death hit
mo money mo problems plus i lost my best friend
i'm da second dopest # from compton you'll ever hear
the first # only put out albums every seven years

Ha speakin on jay
that just makes me role down
and your song, westside story
you got a line that says don't wear throw back drive or ride maybachs
is that a shot at J?
na i was talkin to ja rule
yeah, so , i mean i got alota respect fo him, know what i'm sayin?
i never take shots at legends, its just somethin i won't do

let me tell you why i do this #
i'm a son of a gun cuz moms was a hoover crip
first day i got signed i had to prove i spit
freestyle wit busta rhymes
son, you can spit
told j and Dr.Dre i could finally put the shoes on
now that the rumor of Rhakim and cube gone
they say truth hurts something like quicksand
don't stop me in traffic and ask about a hitman
i gotta restore the feelin
crawled from under the rock
when the dogpound crushed the building
i got a family to feed i'm the middle of 9 children
we can talk about a loan after i sell 5 million
if i tell you i aint game and i don't know dre
you gonna do me like Xzibit and cut half my face?
i take all the credit for puttin the west back on the map
if you aint feeling that, get signed gorilla black

Chorus

THE END

ok thats the lyrics off the top of my head
its not perfect, its got some errors, but its ok

A few rap tunes have caught my ear. Can't think of which artists though.

All in all, I haven't latched on to any particular rap style.
I've found some lyrics to be quite clever, others, to be annoying.

BTW
Weren't Square Dance Bands, the first American rappers?
hehe

That's the second time in just a few posts that you've used this term "krunk".
I had to look it up.
Number one result from Google was at Urban Dictionary.
There, definition number 10 has me still cleaning the coffee I spewed everywhere after reading it:

No definititive definition exists for this word.
It is basically a word used by people who haven't enough of a grasp of the English language to think of a better word when needing a descriptive word.
A fading fad word, similar to the use of the word, "word".

www.urbandictionary.com...

lmao
