Berlin Wall Type Defense is the only proven way to keep mexicans out of US

Accourding to the Washington based Pew Hispanic Center, half of all Mexicans surveryed said they want to come to the US. With a country of about 50,000,000 that means that if they get their way, we will accept 25,000,000 more illegal aliens than are already here. In our country of about 280,000,000 and our cities already inundated with legitimate immigrants an citizens it does not make sense that we allow our present border security apparatus, which let 500,000 in last year alone, to continue to operate as is.

From 1961 to 1989 the post war icon known as the Berlin Wall was the most efficient border security device ever constructed. Before 1961, 2.5 million people fled from East Germany to West Germany unchecked. After construction ONLY 5,000 people snuck across in 28 years. Folks thats only 178 per year compared to half a mil. Sure they used machine guns and land mines. But they served more as a deterrent than a practical barrier. These are times in which we must secure more brutal and inhumane options if we are to survive politically, economically, and most of all culturally. The time is now.

I suppose the America you want to live in is 24 hr gridlock and endless crime, poverty, disease, and bankrupt social services. You do realize that a lot of people died to bring you the North America you now inhabit. Indeed a lot of people died to bring you the very air conditioning you are now cooling you computer with. I personally do not mind spilling the blood of foreign invaders just like we are spilling the blood of Arabs every day. And you are also spilling teir blood by paying taxes. I've seen 'facts' about the Berlin wall vary wildly from source to source. Some claim 60 people died trying to cross, some say 160, some 260, others say more than 260. I'm really curious to see which source you used.

How does your wall deal with tunnels?

If you have an answer for the tunnel problem, the Israelis would surely love to know.

Additionally, America's support for tearing down the Berlin wall is fairly well documented. Why would we want to go and undo progress of that nature? Walls are never the best solution, they're simply expedient.

Maybe the wall should have been built 300 yrs ago, and then you wouldn't have to worry about it at all?? It would have stopped ALL the illegal immigrants. Maybe then American Natives wouldn't need reservations and casino's?

How can anybody cry about illegal immigration when we are all basically here illegal, living on land stolen from the Natives and Mexico! Time doesn't change the past. You can't steal something and then make laws making it your own, and then expect the victim to abide by that law.

Get off the illegal immigration bandwagon, it's just a distraction form what is really happening imo.

What if we built a wall to stop the Irish comming here after the potato famin of in the 1840's. Everybody who has come to America over the last 200+ yrs does so to make a better life for themselves, Mexicans are no different than your ancestors. What IF the wall was built before you had a chance to come here? I bet the Sioux would have been happy!

The impact on social services is there but its hardly banrupting them, they were already headed that way at any rate.

Poverty? yes they are poor and most of them are the hardest workers you will ever know. Those guys sitting on the street waiting to be picked up to work, will go 110% from dawn till dusk to feed thier families. These guys know thier priorities.

I was a supervisor at a poultry plant for 10 years. We hired a LOT of Mexicans and central americans. They were the nicest hardest working people you could ask for. And despite what you might here they pay income tax.....and SS....of which most of the illegals will never get a penny of. I would be willing to bet they are the only thing keeping SS afloat.

If our government wanted to keep illegal immigrants out, they could. It serves the big corporations to pay smaller wages to whomever will do the job and let the middle class fend for themselves. In fact, they're sending the middle class jobs overseas.

If our government cared about protecting the people of this country from foreign threats who mean to do us harm, they they would. But they don't.

The fact that we have an illegal immigration issue isn't about building a wall, it's about our government doing what's in our best interest. Which they don't.

all i guess i can say about the moderators here is that they are sympathizers of the illegal foreign invaders or they are trying to protect their website from litigation or censure which is a more likly motive. It is a great site to be sure, but it is getting a little too large to micromanage.
