The judges are still out on our debate. The tension builds.

open your image in any program you have (I use MS Paint- because it's already on my computer and if you're patient and clever you can make it work) and change the size as much as you can without distorting the image.
If you really have to, Email the image or images you want to use to [email protected] and I'll make you a serviceable one.

I can't really create anything new, but I can re-size and sometimes do light-duty collage type work with MS Paint.

Or, you can get an avatar from Below Top Secret in the Member Art forum. You can get one for the short term, and you can also ask somebody to custom-make one for you- some of our artists enjoy doing that kind of stuff. There are plenty of pre-existing avatars in those threads, but I do not know the ettiquite on using them- maybe you're supposed to ask.

I can also possibly track down images online if you like. Just email me with roughly what you want and if it's easy I'll try- if it's not easy I'll help you find somebody who may be willing.

i have several loaded in the thread which is linked in my signature. See if you like anything and just ask which one. I will let you know if its still available.

Be sure to u2u dan as well, he's very talented. Having more then one avatar never huts, able to switch from time to time can be good.

On another note, Where are those damn judges?

Nygdan, are you in touch with apothecary, by my reckoning he has two hours till he forfeits another response...

Its a bit pointless me arguing to myself...

Have any results come back yet? Our debate finished up a few days and curious to know how things are progressing.

I for one don't switch avatars. I've spent a lot of time making people afraid of my cowboy/mechanic jolly roger.
When I hit my 3rd ATS birthday (in about a month) I may try to get this one retouched with new wrenches- probably trade the crescents in for a box end wrench and a pipe wrench.

In addition to being a avatar, this is kinda a pilot for a tat i've thought about getting. It's got certain symbollic value.

I think it's well time that the lost art of dueling was reintroduced to Washington DC. I'll do President Jackson proud.

Only problem with my debating in congress will be that most people wont want to hear it and the rest won't be too able to understand me.

Has not been much action on the debate front over the last few. We need some life kicked into this.

Hopefully the second round is a war for all those involved.

Its standard for judging to take a couple of days in my experience. Don't fret, about it not being hard though.

There's "old guard" on both sides of the bracket (by the way, I should point out that this bracket operates under the assumption that we were bracketed in the same order that we signed up in since that's how the first round was paired off).

So it's not gonna be a walk to the final. It's theoretically possible that the next round might see a smackdown or two, although I somewhat doubt it. After that, on both sides of the final four there will be somebody either going up against an old guard member, or against somebody who has eliminated the old guard... and whoever gets out of that mess alive still has to do it again to win the title.

If you're worried about who you'll come up against, here's my advice. Pick the member who scares you most, and hope that you have to face him in the end. You know why? Because if you don't end up facing him, that means you'll be facing someone even better than him.

Yeah we continue to hold out breaths to see the outcomes. I think ken has the inside track on me on this one but it was deffinately a great time.

Hopefully something will be up tomorrow.

Just wanted to say well done so far. I am well impressed with some of the new guys and fully expect to be dusting off my mitts for the next tourny....

Glad to see much more of the debates going to the limit than last time around.

Apothecary85 has forefited so I advance to the next round, I am glad but would have liked to have earned it... I hope its a real slug fest in the next round, by the looks of things the competition will be tough but I am ready...

It's dissapointing how many people have missed deadlines and had to forfeit. That makes me wish I would have at least given it a go despite the fact I don't think I could do very well with a random topic.

Darkhelmet, there will be another couple of full tournaments this year, along with some other smaller skirmishes, and we are also working on some new formats to try out this year, so keep your eyes open for those announcements.

Vagabond, that image looks great. If no one is opposed, we will keep that as the schedule for the debate too. I've been on a borrowed computer for a while now, without any decent image editing capabilities, but perhaps I will be up and running again on a full one before long and we can make that into the official debate bracket.

Debaters:
Ihatescifi had a problem with their connection, but they kept me up to date so that debate is still open for their posting. It shouldn't be much of an issue if they do, because their next scheduled post will be their closing statement, and CoU would just make a response first, and then a closing statement, so we can take the time for this.
This brief time span will give the rest of you who haven't had full debates or met with any competition to prepare yourselves, because you will be facing some tough opponents in Round 2.

So guys, who's going to win the championship here?
