You all know how Iran is putting up it's very own Oil bourse right?...

This is probably a very stupid question but...

Does this mean that Iran is only going to change its oil price from Dollars to Euros or will it change everything they trade from Dollars to Euros like Syria did???

Just curious...

*editted to add more to my original question*

I guess what I'm asking is... How can the US economy collapse if a small country like Iran changes its oil price from Dollars to Euros?

If Iran starts it's own oil bourse and uses the Euro, there's no reason why other countries won't want to deal in Euros rather than Dollars as it's much cheaper for them to buy oil.

"In parallel, European countries in particular will be able to buy oil directly in their own currency without going though the Dollar. Concretely speaking, in both cases this means that a lesser number of economic actors will need a lesser number of Dollars."

But lets say the oil cost 60 Dollars or 45/50 Euros... whats the difference... If you take the difference in currency value into account will it even matter if oil is sold in Euros instead of Dollars?

Or do they put an extra high price tag on oil if its bought in Dollars, which they wouldn't do when buying the oil in Euros?

Where is the difference?... How can this collapse the US economy?

This is a quote from an article written by Krassimir Petrov the full article is at:Krassimir petrov

"Today there are two oil exchanges in the world, in New York and London, and both require payment in American dollars. This means that any oil purchasing country has to keep large reserves of US currency on hand to fund their ongoing needs. Most Americans assume that the value of their money is pretty constant, but like just about everything else in the world the dollar's value in international markets is determined by the demand for it.

As countries purchase and pay for oil, their dollar reserves are depleted and they have to buy more of them to make sure they'll always have enough for future purchases. As the price of oil keeps going up an artificial demand for the US dollar has been created that according to some analysts has inflated its value on world markets by as much as 25 to 40%. But since both of the world's oil exchanges are owned by American interests, there's not much anyone can do about it. The US benefits greatly by this as it keeps the prices of foreign goods Americans buy lower than they would otherwise be, and also makes the purchase of foreign oil much less expensive."

So I suppose that what he's saying is that the Iranian goverment is trying to steal away some of the buying power of the Dollar.

Ah yes I think I got it now...

Thank you for explaining it to me... Looks like this Iran Oil Bourse event could possibly have a very big negative effect on the US economy... I'd suggest everyone in the US to open and transfer their money to European banks ASAP... Else I think your Dollar will soon lose about 50% or perhaps more of its current worth

for those of you who do not believe iran's nuclear ambitions pose a threat to the state of israel and the stability of the middle east in general, more proof from the horses mouth just days after claiming nuclear success:

Iran president: Israel a threat to Islamic nations
"The existence of the Zionist regime is tantamount to an imposition of an unending and unrestrained threat so that none of the nations and Islamic countries of the region and beyond can feel secure from its threat," Ahmadinejad said on Friday.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

and in reference to his previous remarks of "wiping israel from the map:"

In February, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki had said Ahmadinejad's October comments had been misunderstood and that he had been speaking about the Israeli "regime" not the country. Mottaki had said a country could not be removed from the map.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

funny that he should make that distinction knowing full well that they dont recognize israel as a legitimate state. so basically he's making comments about a regime that, as far as he's concerned, doesnt exist. yeah right.

and the plot thickens:

Iran's leaders launch vitriolic assault on Israel, US
"Whether you like it or not, the Zionist regime is on the road to being eliminated," said Ahmadinejad, whose regime does not recognize Israel and who drew international condemnation last year when he said Israel should be "wiped off the map."

(emphasis added by me.)

that's about as straight-forward as you can get, i think. this man is trying to pick a fight. there can no longer be any doubt as to his intentions.

I don't underrstand why they these people don't feel safe? Are they or their families getting blown up by Jews while waiting at bus stops to go to work? Did Jews behead their neighbors for not being Jewish? Has Israel ever threatened the annhilation of all Muslims?

Israel will not be a threat to any of her neighbors until she is forced to go head to head with them again.

Let him fight God. I want to see a quick resolution to this biz, if Iran has something under the table, let it come public with it. Then I'll know that Iran not somebody else is going to get the blame for armageddon and that my people aren't the dumb 1/3 siding with Antichrist. This is either a self-fullfilling prophecy or the real deal. Let's hope it's not the real deal.

when it comes, does it really matter who gets the blame? the whole point of this thread is to try to educate people as to the beliefs of ahmadinejad so that maybe someone might be able to stop what seems, at this point, to be inevitable. i doubt it, but it's worth a shot.

Israel packs it up and moves to the US. Some educated immigrants would be nice for a change. They aim all 200 of their nukes at bethleham on the way out. Nuclear fallout wipes out all the arabs in the region and Iran is more then welcome to the debris left behind...

What else?

If i were a real scoundrel,
one could interpet your above quote as a subliminal suggestion for
someone to attempt an assassination of the Iranian President

someone to Stop Ahmadinejad...its worth a Shot...

not meaning to be offensive on this Easter Day,
but that real or imagined message just jumped out at me.

....peace

its this ignorant piss poor attituted that has us in this dillema in the first place. :shk:

Put them in thier place over what exactly? Selling us oil? Building up thier military? What exactly? Considering we caused this whole mess in the first place perhaps this is just deserts eh? We chose to have the CIA remove a democraticaly elected PM aka Mossadeq and placed the Shah in his place setting off this chain of errors that leads us to this place now.

How ironic, you're trying to instill a feeling of hate for certain people with your words, yet somehow the only person you instill any sense of dislike for is yourself..

How about actully contributing and sticking to the topic, which I'm sure is not about insulting Muslims..

Well, keep participating in the frenzy if you like, but remember that G.W. Bush says he's a born-again christian, god is talking to him, etc. - essentially the same irrational BS that Ahmadinejad is accused of. I wonder why it's suddenly such an issue when it comes from Teheran instead of Washington - shouldn't it be the other way round?

Democratic President: "God is talking to me!" - OK, well, whatever.
Theocratic President: "God is talking to me!"* - WHAT? ARE YOU CRAZY? OMG WE NEED TO STOP HIM!

Hilarious.

* just paraphrasing, I know he didn't say exactly that, but it definitely fits the same mold.

this isnt the god of the bibile thats talking to him. he is caught up in the false christianity. the one lucifer started a few thousand years ago in a little place we all know as babylon. this is the spirit of the antichrist that bush is following..along with 90% of people who call themselves christians....and along with the middle eastern religion.....ALL RELIGION IS MANMADE and has nothign to do with christ...he told us about this...
the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one." 1 John 5:19

come on dont throw the real christ in with this religion of death and greed. just because he says he is following christ doesnt mean jack. if you know your bible then you would know this. this is exactly the reason the teachings of christ are looked down on....christ did not teach to kill and did not teach the love of greed...but just the opposite. use some sense....this is basic stuff man...

Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?" Then will I tell them plainly, "I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!" Matthew 7:21-23

christ knew all of this would happen and thats exactly why he told about it. what to look for, who is involved, what would happen, why it would happen, its pretty simple. so you might as well get ready for it.

the presidents that call for war in the name of christ?? yeah that is hilarious. if you dont know your arse from the new testament then dont be throwing around statements that put things in the wrong perspective. its no wonder this world hates christ.
