Don't worry about me my young friend, I won't bring my charm as I'm already married, though that challenge would be interesting.

We need a firm date, without it this won't happen. Friday is about the only day for me, any Friday.

What better day to meet than April Fools' Day.
April 1, 2006 falls on a Saturday this year, and April would put us into the better weather.

That would give everyone lots of time to prepare, and the date is not too far away that this would become a forgotten thread.

What does everyone think???
Can we nail the date down to April 1st. "April Fools' Day"

It seems a fitting day for the group.............

(we can decide on a location when we know who's going to come, where people need to come from, and by mathematically triangulating each members location over the given region, and then selecting a central location for the most members that intend to attend)

April 1 is good for me, I do have a car but I live very close to the GO, so I don't know how I will get there yet drive or train, but if I drive I don't mind picking up anyone needing a ride.

April 1 is mucho better, imo.

Feb 10 is a no go for me.

April 1 is a Saturday, so it isn't good for intrepid.

Also...since talking to some-one who frequents Sneaky Dees, it seems it's hard to get a table after 7pm because of the university crowd. We should pick a date after the last semester, unless some-one has a better venue.

I'm glad to hear you're interested, Sauron...that makes it at least 5 rounds.

When is last semester, masqua?

We can also consider an alternative location. There are lots of cool places downtown. Sneaky's rocks, but it's not the only place.

The last semester ends around the middle of April, so I was gunning for a May date.
Lets pick a Friday...either the 21st or 28th of April or the 5th of May.

I agree there's plenty of good venues, parr...my sons have shown me around Toronto quite a bit. I'd like to suggest a lively place, like Sneaky Dees...good food, great ambience (lol) etc...but, I'm open to suggestions.

Nice to see you in the loop, parr...

We should invite SO to this shindig and talk him into setting up the ATS servers in a really really safe place...like Auburn.

April 1st should be far enough off for intrepid to work out a day off, and Friday is a work day for most, so it would be nice to travel on a Saturday.
Members could stay over in a hotel that night if needed, and then travel back on the Sunday.

I think the 1st would be the best, but lets see what intrepid can work out.......

I'm glad to see you're interested in coming to this shindig. Anxiety Disorder.

With parr, Sauron and yourself added it makes a reasonable get-together. I know there's a bunch of others in the area as well, so I think it's good thing that we're giving this a bit more time. Now more might see this and consider coming.

I hear you about the travel time on the Friday...and you'd have to come the furthest of us all, so far. It's no hassle for me, cuz I'm retired...so what do the others say? I'd hate for anyone to be 'out of pocket' too much other than a round and a dinner.

We're going to get this pegged down yet.

I'm in Hamilton masqua.
I can hop a GO Train and be in Toronto in about an hour or so, but yeah, I'd prefer traveling on a Saturday cause Friday can be hell.
If we don't party too late, I can grab the last train out of town that night and be home to surf ATS before the clock strikes one.

Oh, and someone has to bring a laptop so we can keep track of what's going on at ATS.

Almost every year, on the first Saturday of April, I usually head to Ann Arbor, Michigan for an event that is billed as "Hash Bash". Without elaborating, I will simply state that this is not a day dedicated to the culinary arts or corned beef or any other "traditional" hearty food fare. However, I would like to say that I would happily fore-go this annual event to truck on down the opposite direction on the 401 towards Toronto.

April Fool's Day, as a day for ATS'ers in this region, to congregate in Toronto seems strangely appropriate. Count me in on this date. Somehow I sense that there is nothing that I could or would have done in Ann Arbor that can't be done in Toronto (does Sneaky Pete's have a back alley?). Anyway, put benevolent tyrant down as attending.

anxietydisorder; I live in Burlington down by the lake.

And the lap top is a cool idea, or cell phone, have we a date set yet?

April 1 sounds good for all of us except intrepid...and I'd miss seeing him at the meet.

However, it was brought up that some would have to take time off work to be in Toronto for a Friday night. That'd be a bummer...so Saturday looks better for anyone that has to travel.

What's everyones take on an April 1 date?

I'm good for anytime decided, cuz, hey...I don't work

BTW...I've been stranded for 4 days with closed highways...winter just took a potshot at us here, so maybe waiting til warmer weather was a good move after all.

It's a great day to travel into Toronto because the roads are a bit quieter than the weekdays, and most people are off work on the weekend.

And I sure think that April Fools' Day is a fitting day for a bunch of ATSers to get together for a good meal and a few drinks.

I'm in for sure...........

I hope no one thinks that because the meeting will be on April 1st that they think it's some kind of April Fools' Day joke.

I think April 1st is a fitting day for us to get together, and the weather is much better than it is now. This date also gives people enough time to make plans.

We should do a roll-call to see who's in.................

Besides DE, AD and myself, the silence on this is deafening.

But, I don't care...even if it's just a few of us, I think it's worthwhile to hoist a beer or two in the name of our companionship in ATS.

Count me in.

Why don't we all show up wearing our tinfoil hats?

I'll get the day off(April 1st), if work doesn't like it they can kiss my ass. They owe me.
