There's so many interesting members living in and around Toronto, I'm thinking it's about time we planned for a get-together. So I'm asking all those who are interested to try and come to an agreement about when and where.
I'd like to suggest a beer and sandwich at the best little spot I know...Sneaky Pete's near Ossington and Dundas. It's a nice safe little place and if we get there early enough we can get a cuppla large tables together.
How about a friday night in the spring when the warmer weather hits?

That's a pretty good idea, Masqua. For me, it's already plenty warm, so I'm good to go just about any time. How are their wings?

Nice to hear you're on for this, DE.

I was in this place a few weeks ago and had a huge breakfast plate. The music is cutting edge alternative and loud, the beer is cheap and the crowd runs about age 25-35. There's a great tex-mex menu and I bet the wings would be great. I really enjoyed the place cuz it's got a great atmosphere.

It's close to Queen West, so you get the idea of the crowd...it'd be a blast.

I'm ready for it too...but let's see if we can get lots interested by giving it a month or so.

Ou!! Get your own threads, the lot of you!

I think I know the one you're talking about Masqua, sounds awsome. At last count,w e had 10+ members in the GTA, easy. How's about we set the date at the 10th of febuary, say the time... 8 or 9pm? Late enough for everyone to get off work and make it there?

I'm game for an ATS gathering in Toronto. I'm in London, Ontario so it's just a two hour run down the 401 for me. I'd love to sit down and meet some of my fellow ATS members. By the mere fact that we all have a strange affinity for the, well, strange and wierd, I already know that we would all get along. Oh sure, we might settle into a heated debate but heck, that's what we do, right?

I'd be game for a con-fab anywhere between Toronto and Detroit......for arguments sake, even my own London, Ontario is ok with me.....Here's an idea....everyone within a comfortable drive of Toronto, London, Guelph and or Windsor/Detroit check in with your desired city. The city with the most "hits" wins.

February 10 is a good date for me...lol...if we did go to Sneaky Pete's, I'd have a place to crash within walking distance.
The food there is excellent...I'll vouch for that...and the prices are reasonable.
I've heard it said that the music there is the best in the city.

Good idea, BH. We already had a meet in deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetroit. One suspects Toronto is the new 'it' town, though I wouldn't mind going to London. Getting back into the states would be a pain, though.

Oh, and I'm in the GTA.

It'd be great meeting you BT, we've talked about it before. It's a 3 hr run for me to Toronto, but I'm there a lot,

London is a great spot too...used to live there, as you know.

Its fine with me, oni xx, if you can get some people together in London, Emgland by using this thread. I don't think I can make it, though...it's a bit of a swim for me.

First of all, I need to clarify the name of the restaurant...it's Sneaky Dees not Pete's...near College and Bathurst.

Secondly, it's a university hangout, so Friday night the place is jammed and jamming. I think we'd have to make reservations, which is no biggy as long as we make them early enough.

So far, we have 3 people interested. That's kinda small for a fun crowd, so we'll have top make an effort to U2U people in the area. Odium, parrhesia and intrepid come to mind immediately and I know there's lots of others within a short drive.

(C'mon BTS...do your thang)

I'm only about 25 minutes from Sneaky's, it's a nice central location and they do have good food

Anyone who likes indy bands, be sure to check out El Mocambo pretty much right across the street.

I'm not sure I can make February 10th, but I would be interested in a meet up for sure in Toronto

As it turns out, I'm going to be in Toronto for that entire weekend.

It's too bad, parr, that you can't make it to this gig, but maybe we can get another occasion going after this one. I'm looking forward to meeting the ones who have expressed an interest and I'm sure there'll be lively discussion. Most likely the last thing discussed will be another meet.

Before I go ahead and make the reservations, I'm going to let another week go by, so I can book a table and seats 2 weeks in advance and give others the chance to chime in on this. It still doesn't look like there's live entertainment that night, so there won't be a cover charge.
