Well it looks like we might possibly still have nine planets in our Solar System, considering the debate about Pluto and it's status as a planet. Here, after a little more than 250 pictures from Hubble, Cornell University might have found more fresh water on the Ceres asteroid than there is on Earth. These discoveries lead some scientists to rethink what defines a planet.

wrong place to post on dis thread buddy.
, nice to put some humor here.

Or maybe our military should figure out a better means to kill the enemy. Or are you going to tell me that those burned up babies were insurgents?

Hmmm, seems we have a bright one here

The simple fact is no one knows who killed those babies, do they. The insurgents/terrorists in Iraq have shown they have no qualms about killing the innocent. Hell they killed dozens of children with a VBIED who were being given candy by US soldiers.
We know these oh so brave insurgents hide among women and children for 2 reasons :
* They think that a shield such as this will give the Americans hesitation to fire - true in most cases.
* If the Americans do hit them then they can use the death of their " shields " as a propaganda coup, even though they were ultimtely responsible for their deaths

the white phosphorus was used for the laying of smoke [ie: cover], etc.

Indeed, if they'd used it to attack the city, spraying it from bomber planes, then forget about neatly pressed shirts and rotting corpses, there'd be people running around cutting their flesh of to get away from the stuff.

Interesting that they were using it at all though, that would explain where the conspiracy world got the idea from and why there are such weird reports of 'chemical weapons'

not to mention many Iraqis are not very knowledgable about wats chemical or not. remember dat many Iraqis believe the American soldiers and Marines have air conditioning underwears since they keep wonder how Americans able to wear all the clothing and equipment in over 100 degrees F. also dat the night vision goggles can see through clothes and many Iraqis are angry about such things. its a wonder why they mistaken the attacks on Falluja as chemical attacks and bodies decomposed and left in the streets for weeks until the American soldiers allow the Iraqis to recover the bodies already eating by dogs or maggots.

The BBC has picked up on the story. The beebs also states that unfortunately the US is not a signatory to Protocol III (relating to incendiary weapons) of the Convention on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Certain Conventional Weapons

news.bbc.co.uk
US 'uses incendiary arms' in Iraq

Italian state TV, Rai, has broadcast a documentary accusing the US military of using white phosphorus bombs against civilians in the Iraqi city of Falluja.

Rai says this amounts to the illegal use of chemical arms, though the bombs are considered incendiary devices.

Eyewitnesses and ex-US soldiers say the weapon was used in built-up areas in the insurgent-held city.

The US military denies this, but admits using white phosphorus bombs in Iraq to illuminate battlefields.

Washington is not a signatory of an international treaty restricting the use of white phosphorus devices.

en.wikipedia.org...

Use of white phosphorus is not specifically banned by any treaty, however the 1980 Geneva Protocol on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Incendiary Weapons (Protocol III) prohibits the use of incendiary weapons against civilian populations or by air attack against military forces that are located within concentrations of civilians. [1] The United States is among the nations that have not signed this protocol.

dats why they didnt sign it because of dis....

by air attack against military forces that are located within concentrations of civilians.

dats why its a problem and very vague. where do u expect to attack with if in the range of civilians. where is the range limit where u can bomb without endangering civilians? 100 yards? 200 yards? a mile?

Now being picked up by The Independent:

news.independent.co.uk
US forces 'used chemical weapons' during assault on city of Fallujah

Powerful new evidence emerged yesterday that the United States dropped massive quantities of white phosphorus on the Iraqi city of Fallujah during the attack on the city in November 2004, killing insurgents and civilians with the appalling burns that are the signature of this weapon.

Ever since the assault, which went unreported by any Western journalists, rumours have swirled that the Americans used chemical weapons on the city.

In December the US government formally denied the reports, describing them as "widespread myths". "Some news accounts have claimed that US forces have used 'outlawed' phosphorus shells in Fallujah," the USinfo website said. "Phosphorus shells are not outlawed. US forces have used them very sparingly in Fallujah, for illumination purposes.

How sad if all this is true . . . does anybody remember the number of residents of falluja that went missing from the city?

I remember that we did a thread on that prior to the assaults it was last year in November because I was in the Marine Corp ball the night prior to that and we did a prayer for the soldiers.

They had tents cities for the residents that evacuated but over 100 thousand or more were no accounted for.

This is bad news very sad bad news.

wcip,

The last two articles you linked to draw directly from the contents of the video put forth by the Italian "news" agency.

Have you taken the time to actually watch it?

A good % of the content has nothing to do with Fallujah whatsoever! It's meant to be demonstrative at best.

The "closing" video is an absolute farce represented completely out of context [full video], as is much of the overall content.

?? white flag waving teens being purposefully shot at ... ??

Watch, Look, Listen ...

It's a video of a one man see-saw!

[edit]
Neither of the two marines were actually there during MANY of the incidents they make claim to. They openly admit the majority of their "statements" are based on hear-say?!

It’s somehow our fault that insurgents choose to fight among women and children?

If they find civilian casualties so appalling, then maybe, just maybe, they might want to think about staging a fight some where else. But of course not! Its the Americans fault four fighting them, were supposed to let them do whatever they want because they choose to use civilians as a shield.
