I say yes! to open mike night! I, actually, am a... ahem....a published poet! *blush* And I don't mean at poetry.com!
Here's one of my lighter ones:
Splendor
Ode to margarita mix,
Splendor in a blender
Portable friendly fix
Lime, salt, and Mexican brew
Coming to terms with the worms
In hopes all your words slur true
I love it! Aren't we the talented little group - I'm thinking Paris Salon people
or for the beatier types, velvet pillows on the floor, black
light poetry parties... man... *clicks fingers*
I too am published poet (also not on poetry.com) and published writer and hoping, hoping, hoping, if I click my red Ferragamos 3 times, a published
novelist some day.
I am starting up a writing workshop on the collaborative writing forum. You are welcome to join, would love to read your poetry - even the deep ones.

Zaph - freaky ghost ship picture
Are you going to be the photograph for our calendar?
For the ill one:
Tinkle tinkle little star
How purpely and prettily you tinkle from a'far
queen of donuts, sanka and literary flair
come to us soon, our cupboards are bare
Ok, ok, shoot me already, i'm a little rusty. I don't like rhymes I must confess - a little in moderation is OK. But I prefer the randomness and
madness of poets like e.e cummings and ginsburg and my poet, my god T.S Eliot. *bow*
Well actually I have a fondness for all poets - even ones that rhyme : Auden and Whitman love, Dylan Thomas - adore - Neruda swoon.
