I will agree, it is an American problem. But, I have to issue with you labeling that as such. My issue was with you assuming that all Americans are jumping on the anti-Iran, China, Syria, N Korea, Venezuela bandwagon. I assure you we are not.

There are plenty of idiot adults, and even more misinformed CHILDREN who will buy anything Uncle Sam spoon feeds them, but I promise you that the average American doesnt advocate it. Unfortunately a lot of us feel unable to change a thing. It doesnt matter who we vote for. It is a very hopeless feeling, so a lot of us just "play ball."

There are still plenty of us who see this crap for what it is. Lies to further the agenda of a system that only seeks to control us for the good of a few at the expense of millions.

On a seperate note...How is the weather in Belgium? I have been debating a move if the direction my country is taking doesnt change soon.

Well, I don't think the weather gets any worse than it does in Belgium. If you want moderate (read gray) weather the hole year round, this is the place to be. If I were you I'd move 2000 km north or south.
Basically everyone living here wants to get 'down there' asap for the 'good life' and is bored with the rain and the clouds. Other than the weather you can't complain.

I know that's exactly the problem, but you (Americans) should understand that it's still a minority. I heard that 66 cities (in 2003) were not abiding the patriot act because it was unconstitutional. There are countless others trying to reclaim what's theirs. Find out who and join them and get your friends and family too, everyone should put their weight in. It is not something that is hopeless in my eyes, although I don't have a quick solution either. But just "playing ball" is a bit passive agressive imo.
It's a cliché quote but "All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing" is still true sadly enough.

Anyway, this is just another offtopic rant.

Unfortunately cities fall under jurisdiction of the feds. I wish we could just choose not to follow the patriot act, but it doesnt work that way. Whether we choose to follow it or not the police do.

Do you really think that your local police was unaffected by the patriot act?

If I say cities, I don't mean the people, but the 'authorities'.

I seriously doubt local governements are stepping on Big Brothers toes like that Shroom. I actually live here and it is the first I have ever heard of a local gov't just flat out refusing to recognize federal laws. I'm not saying it isnt true...but care to post some evidence???
