Xbox 360 versus Playstation 3

WHats wrong? SInce it in't a box it isn't good? I mean, xbox controllers might as well been a box, that would have been easier to hold.

But PS3 controllers? Looks pretty comfy to me, like handle bars on a bike. Hang on and thumbs/pointer fingers go!

Yea it may be PC based and PC's may be powerful, but the cell tech is supposed to be a lot better than most PC's. Im just gunna buy them both, cuz i like gran turismo, and gta, but i LOVE halo

I think that the ps2 and xbox were both great. However, if you intend to include gamecube with a game generation, then it most deffinately fell between ps1, N64, and dreamcast. My personal idea is that sony (ps3) and microsoft (xbox 360), should join forces and crush the nintendo (revolution). I have one of the slim playstation 2's and i love the xbox as well, but I the the gamecube is somewhat repulsive.

Although I respect your opinion, I disagree with it. Everybody here knows what happens when a corporation gains a monopoly. If Sony joins with Microsoft to crush the competition it's a monopoly. Historically when that happens prices go up, and the corporation no longer is being forced to make a good product for survival. Simply put if Nintendo fell out of the competition like so you could probably expect something along the lines of a primitive PS1 being sold at $1,000 per system. Besides why would you want to knock Revolution out of the market? Without other companies to leech off of Sony can't make decent new stuff. *coughs*analog stick *coughs*.

Oh yeah and if you're going for looks, Revolution is the hottest of all of them IMO. It's so nice a sleek. Of course asthetics never made a better system.

Hmm, does anyone know what the prices will be for these systems? And while Xbox360 and PS3 both look wonderful...I'll have go to with PS3 cause it holds my blessed RPGs...

i would count on approx. 400$ as its the usual price for new console hardware

Right now PS3 is my vote but if revolutions is reverse compatible with snes, nes, n64 and every other n64 system then it will truely kick @ss

So far Nintendo says they will make it so you can attach the GC to the Rev. Yep, it would be like gluing a PS1 to your PS2 so you could play PS1 games. But it is Nintendo, and these people said the GC would do everything but make you immortal, and as we all know it sucks compared to N64, SNES, and NES, and Atari, and Condor 64, and a etch a sketch......

Seriously though Im gunna wait and see what Revolutions does, cuz we can all agree that all the hype created before gamecube was overrated. Gamecube has many functions just as the president of nintendo said. Its a paper weight, a coaster, an anger management tool. If you gut it its an effective ps2 and xbox game carrying case. and the little disks they use are good for target practice.

Hey, not my fault squared boobs on a etch a sketch is better graphics then a GC. Well, except for games like Mortal Kombat DA, since it came out on other systems.

QUESTION! How come Nintendo only uses decent graphics when the game is on other systems? I mean, WIndWalkers makes Etch a Sketch look like real life. One would think it would have say, graphics better then that of a NES.

Its because ninendo people are too focused on handhelds. They think that people like the old crappy graphics to classic games. So they put their best efforts into making the graphics look 1990'sish. They found out that people actually hate bad graphics and now they are being smart and making it look real....just like the new zelda game coming out.

First off, I'll admit to liking the xbox more then the other consoles. But I am also one of the rare people you'll see who aren't biased. Whic I'll tell you right now, was a major reason I was kicked off the site I used to do reviews for.

I still think MS has an uphill battle. Sony has two incredible strengths that MS still has yet to beat them on, and that's their strong relationship with the japanese game developers who make most of these games, and their supportive nature with them. Simply put: Sony knows who butters their bread. It's Konami...it's Capcom, it's Square...so they make sure to treat those folks well or suffer the consequences.

I'll be honest, if you put a gun to my head and asked me to pick a system (Xbox or PS2) that I had to "give up" and give away all my games for, never to play again, I'd give up the Xbox. Their are just too many PS2 games that I love, and play daily, that I'd lose. Shadow Hearts 2, Star Ocean 3, Digital Devil Saga, SMT:Nocture, MGS3...just to name a few. While Halo 1 I also have for my PC and I could buy both KOTOR games for my PC as well. I'd lose Halo 2 and Xbox live, but that's about all I'd cry over.

I think this upcoming console war should be very interesting. MS knows what they have to do (Court the japanese), and Sony knows what they have to do (Better internet plan) so we'll see who does their task better. My money is still on Sony though, since their task is a heckuva lot easier then MS's.

Yea it is. Cell tech is going to make the xbox look like nintendo graphix. not really, but the only thing that could kill ps3 is if they decide to take out the hard drive. I dont think they will though because they arent stupid.

CONCLUSION
When you break down the numbers, Xbox 360 has provably more performance than PS3. Keep in mind that Sony has a track record of over promising and under delivering on technical performance. The truth is that both systems pack a lot of power for high definition games and entertainment.

However, hardware performance, while important, is only a third of the puzzle. Xbox 360 is a fusion of hardware, software and services. Without the software and services to power it, even the most powerful hardware becomes inconsequential. Xbox 360 games—by leveraging cutting-edge hardware, software, and services—will outperform the PlayStation 3.

Or not, cell tech blows 360 out of the water, not to mention Final Fantasy, the greatest game series which as of now the only new ones are on PS1/2. I still want Sony and Microsoft to get together and kill Nintendo, I mean, sorry, but my etch a sketch gets me better graphics then a Game Cube, just imagine if 2 of the best game companies got together to crush the sucky one, that way it would be straight on 1-1 competition. I feel ur pain. I hate the gamecube. I actually got pissed at it and shot it with my paintball gun. It has the CRAPPIEST current generation graphics. AGH. PS3 is gunna blow em all outta the water.

Ahem, not to be a troll but do you know anything about capatalism? You do know that without Nintendo regulating prices with low cost systems, PS3 and X-Box 360 could double in price? I mean it's Sony and Microsoft, two companies noturious for overpricing and violation of various copyright/anti trust laws. Even if you don't like Nintendo and it's fun games, your wallet needs Nintendo.

Such a shame, people wanting to give money to the evil corporate world because of something as trivial as graphics.

Id rather pay a lot of money for a great game than not alot of money for a crappy game.

Another reason why capatalism dictates Nintendo must stay around. You see without Nintendo putting it's own quality games out theres little competition. Meaning Microsoft and Sony wouldn't even need to spend much time or money on games, or even systems for that matter. Simply put if you put Nintendo out of the market you'd find the place flooded with cardboard boxes priced at about $800 each, with $200 games.
