GC had a great hit? i didn't know Mario #312, Mario Kart #119, and Resident Evil #67 were great hits. Hmmm, how about a good game with graphics better then the PS1? No? Oh well, Nintendo still sucks, unlike the Xbox 360!!!!!

Beleive me....I have an Xbox 360 and it is totally worth it.

If you have not played Call of Duty 2 on the 360 then you have no idea as to how great it is.

Also Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is insane. It is the most realistic war game I've ever played.

The difference will be in the quality of games. How many exclusive titles can each console bring that will make you have it...

The other one will be price, the PS3 full version will cost U$600 and the lite version U$100 less. That is a lot of money...

Can better graphics be justified?

ow many sequels does final fantasy have? or ratchet and clank? or GTA?
my point is, that there's a difference in recreating the same games over and over, and creating totally new games within the same series. the Final Fantasy series is going into its 13th game, Ratchet and Clank into its second, and GTA has at least 3 in its series, with a 4th one coming for next gen. Mario kart has 5 games in it's series, the entire Mario series goes back before my time, and if i'm not mistaken, the RE series started on the ps1. with exception to RE0 and RE4, all the Resident Evil games that appeared on the gamecube were straight ports from the ps1, and ps2, but with updated graphics.

Final Fantasy has one sequel, X-2. All the others have nothing to do with each other. Tactics, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10/10-2, 11, 13, all have nothing to do with each other. A common misconception by Nintendo Lovers is that Final Fantasy games are sequels to each other when of course they aren't, not even the same characters!

GTA started on the PC then moved to PS2, and have different missions, different characters, same as FF Series. They use GTA to sell the game even though one is starring a black person, one a white person, another an Italian, another... so forth.

Unlike Mario, it is always Mario, sometimes his brother Luigi gets involved but it is still Mario with the same deal, save the Princess by defeating the same person, King Koopa.

Also notice how weak and bad the graphics for the GC are to other systems? You can't even play Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks on the GC because it's graphics are to good, same with Madden 2006! I'd be surprised if you could play FFVII on the GC since the graphics might be to good for the GC to handle.

Although Mortal Kombat is the exception to prove the rule, usually same characters, throwing in a few new characters in the new game, but still, fight, kill, win. Although you can choose different characters, and the new ones, especially SM, have better graphics then the Arcade version and what the Game Cube can handle, it is the exception of the same story with same character sucks, because it doesn't!

the Final Fantasy games are not the same, but they still carry the FF name, which makes them a part of the FF series. and please don't make the mistake of calling me a 'Nintendo Lover'. i could do the same and call you a PS fanboy.

the Nin games you listed are not straight ports. the characters may be the same but story and game play are not. if they were straight ports nintendo would've been gone a long time ago for making the stupid mistake of releasing the same game over and over.

Unlike Mario, it is always Mario, sometimes his brother Luigi gets involved but it is still Mario with the same deal, save the Princess by defeating the same person, King Koopa.
yea, i hear ya. i got tired of the princess deal a looooong time ago. but i think nintendo got the message as i've heard that the whole helpless dissappeared with mario64. i'm still getting that new game for the ds though. the one where you have to--you guessed it--save the princess

that's not what i've heard. or read for that matter. Capcom and Namco both had to downgrade their games, RE4 and Tales of Symphonia respectively, because the ps2 couldn't handle the same kind of specs that the GC could

Although Mortal Kombat is the exception to prove the rule, usually same characters, throwing in a few new characters in the new game, but still, fight, kill, win. i'm a game freak. i typically don't bash systems. seeing as how i have/had every console released in the US since the original NES, i can pretty much say that every console has its good and bad. but i wont judge something unless i personally own it.

I've completely changed my Opinion on this war. Nintendo's Wii(stupid name, awesome looking games and gameplay options) is my favorite and I am going to buy one! I have a feeling it will beat the price points of both XBox and Sony's consoles by a lot.

I was sold when I learned that Solid Snake will be in Super Smash Brotha's, which leads me to think that the series may come to the new console in some shape or form. Maybe FPS! FPS on the Wii will be soooo awesome! Maybe even better then a Keyboard and Trackball! DUCKHUNT 2!?!!? WOOT! What's not to love!

Everyone said the same thing about the Gamecube before it came out. And it blows.

But who knows maybe it will be great.

I like the Xbox because I don't like little kid games like Mario. I like pretty much just shooters and sports games.

The Wii != GC. Price Point will be much lower like the GC, Game Price will be lower(according to rumor), Controller is the BEST of any of the three consoles and is modular(ie you can put a regular controller skin on it if you want, or a Gun skin, etc). PS3 tried to rip it off....baddly. (Who the F is going to use the Z-Axis like that anyway
).

Can you come to me and sell me a system which makes playing an FPS any easier then the Wii?(Which is one of the primary reasons why most Computer Gamers hate Consoles).

Can you come to me and name just one PS3 Developer that does not want to come program for the Wii? Hideo Kojima(Maker of Metal Gear Solid series) has expressed a serious interest in jumping ship "because he wants to do something different." More have pretty much said the same and since a lot of them do this contracting gig, game by game, as soon as they churn out the first gen of mediocre games for PS3 and 360, they gonna jump ship. Mark my words. Same thing happened to Atari in the 80s and Nintendo in the 90s. It's due to happen again.

Maybe you are right. But I'm not sure as to how much better than the 360 a system could do. I mean seriously. Halo 3 ? and Gears of War is supposed to be way sick also. The games already out are great as well. Like Call of Duty, Ghost Recon, Amped, Condemned, Perfect Dark. You just have to play the 360 to realize how great it is. You probably are right though because I don't know anything about the developers I just play the games.

Evey game except for GR and PD are on PC and I am a PC gamer 1st and foremost, which is why Wii is appealing to me quite a great deal, if I want to play something that has been done a bazillion time over again(Save for Spore), then I'll just stick to my computer. 360 is an overpriced "PC", without any truely innovative games, just evoltions of previous games mostly(with only a marginal improvement of gameplay), and some of those deevolutions, also PS3 is priced like a 3DO...

If you are a fan of FPS as your list of "kick ass" games implies, then you should appreciate the inherint benefit of a control mechanism that is merly you pointing a Gun at a screen(or the Wii-mote) with a small joystick with trigger mechanism in your left/right hand for movement and maybe alt. fire or duck or jump or whatever else.

I dunno about the PS3. Sony sucks, they make there stuff with cheap plastics that break (ever heard of the melting disctrays? happened to me THREE F!^%@!%!& TIMES! ) And I'm sure the PS3 isn't going to be any different.

For 700 bucks, its not too great either. It's games arent that great (okay, it has Metal Gear solid 3...but theyre planning to port that to the 360 in the future... Ican wait.) The graphics arent all that great (all the hype and its just a bit better then the first xbox from the stuff I saw.) And the controller cant even vibrate!?!?!? nah screw it

Not worth 699.95. I'll stick with my 360. **Goes to play Oblivion, Hitman Blood money, and preorders Prey*

Also to dismiss the Wii console as underpowered is quite premature at this point, I and a lot of people may be extremely surprised. Their GPU and CPU hasn't been finalized as of yet. ATI cards are extremely good, with a PowerPC core of unknown capabilities.... SquareEnix is reportedly working on some games for the GC(in addition to their FF series on the PS3 and PC).

Here is a rumor I heard for the hard stats, so please take with a grain of salt.

Dual threaded IBM Custom PowerPC, 2.5GHz with 256KB L1 cache, 1MB of L2 cache, ATI RN520 core at 600MHz with 256MB RAM, 512MB at 700 MHz RAM, a PPU chip with 32MB and a sound card capable of DD 5.1 – DTS 7.1.

Here is an article of impressions of the actual controller...

revolution.ign.com...

Also If the above rumor is true, won't that make the Wii the only Console with a PPU?(Physics processor I believe)

Does that answer your question.

Btw, Nintendo already hit rock bottom, years ago. Remember the Virtua Boy? I barely do, I got yanked so fast you couldn't even say eye danage three times fast before it happened.

I'm just waiting for more and more companies to announce that they will be developing ports or original titles for the Wii based on the final Dev Kit which has not even been completely finallized yet, is still in final beta. SquarEnix is the only 3rd party developer to have access to the latest and greatest Beta version of the Wii Developers Kit. It's great to see those two back together again it bring tears to my eyes .

Here is another link for everyone to peruse.

i hope your a rich boy if you want a ps3 because a ps3 with 60gb goes for 649.99 then you need more controllers and games and memory cards and a host of other things so be prepared to spend a good 800.00 bucks for a decent ps3.

you know sony is actually copying microsoft? in their new ps3 theyll have a marketplace to download content and a place to play online for free. hmm where could they have thought of a market place, microsoft thats who. sony is running out of ideas so in the end they have no choice but copy from the best or they have no chance.

Actually, PC games came up with that(they are called "Patches," and they are released to fix problems and bugs within the game itself, sometimes if the developers are really cool gamers, they also release free content to increase the games value along with it(Blizzard, Epic do this). The way that PS3, and 360 are going, is to make you pay for the patch instead of expecting they fix a borked product.
kidding of course but it's not that far from the truth as a lot of the stuff you now pay for now, was free just a couple of years ago, and remain free for certain companies.

The console markets are usually 3-5 years behind the PC market in sheer technological and gameplay. In certain respects, with a dual analog the experience is perfect. The only thing that PC's didn't really come up with was the Dual Analog controller with rumbling ability(which Sony stole from Nintendo, who stole it from this other company, but since Sony was more successful with it, they sued them(I actually think Nintendo got a license or something, whatever... it's all twisted legal mumbo jumbo that I could care less about so I stopped following it when I stopped using my PS2 after a year
))

And also the Wii-Mote of course, though some PC gadgets use elements of the same technology, none do to the extent that Nintendo does today, and Sony is trying to copy them, I hope they don't find themselves in Yet Another Lawsuit

More on the Wii. This just confirmed. The Wii will come with fully featured WWW capabilities along with the niche(but popular) Opera browser. Shame they didn't choose Firefox, but maybe that can be rectified eventually. The more and more I learn about Wii, the more excited I get. Anyway here is the link.

revolution.ign.com...

IGN Wii: Will Opera for Wii enable tabbed browsing, integrated search functions and voice command support?

Scott Hedrick: I'm unable to comment on that at this time.
