I just got through reading about what a Banshee is.

I have absolutely nothing of worth to report. Springer was detained in big D this weekend, so I invited my mother, sister, and niece over to eat supper with me and my daughter.

The following three audios are of us getting up the guts to go in the attic. Totally worthless except for a laugh, maybe. I did find one piece of metal up there, a duct cover which I moved around. You can't even hear it on the tape, though you can hear when I throw it down.

There are two places where you hear my sister go "WHOOP"...trying replicate the sound

So, I went up in the attic, my sister stayed on the stairs and the rest looked on and jeered...so much for my career in ghosthunting.

do you have irish blood in your family and is there a family legend of a banshee in your history?

to be homest I really dont get the feeling this is a banshee at all.

Yes, one branch of my family I have traced back to Ireland in the 1600's.

No, as far as I know none have had Banshee problems.

I don't think it is a Banshee either. But when I did a search on "ghostly sounds" I ran across a webpage that listed various "entities" and some of their sounds. The Banshee kind of freaked me out.

but irish or not unless there is a story of a banshee IN THE FAMILY............ it's probably not a banshee, they are usually attatched to families.

I'm curious to know what's going on though.......... I get the feeling there's something there ..... but I dont know what.

Well, it's 2:15 in the morning, I HAVE THE FLU, and I'm up.

Why? Well, about 20 minutes ago I awakened by the sound of a door squeaking as it slowly swung from completely open to just ajar.

was included in a post before as a comparison to the "weird sound" tape because it captures my daughter's voice and my voice. In it you will hear one door squeak two different times...that's the door that just woke me up swinging from full open to almost full shut.

I was recording at the time, but I have not played the tape yet. I will let the tape recorder go through the rest of the night and then see what I have.

This is was freaky.

Damn Valhall, I am not ever going to download freaky sounds from your web site again. I just downloaded the squeak sounds from your link and play the file. Now I have the damnedest feeling that someone is standing behind me watching. Does this mean that playing a recording of an "entity" could draw another "entity"? Now you got me spooked. Maybe my "entity" would be please if I start surfing some adult site. Do you suppose that is what it wants?

Okay, nothing was caught on the tape. There are a couple of activations, but nothing seems to be recorded.

Okay, approximately 10 minutes ago the phone rang. My daughter and I were downstairs in the living room where the cordless handset is (the same one that came on by itself the day the ladies were here). So rings once and my daughter gets up to answer it and it doesn't ring anymore and the cordless handset LED read "Extension in Use", like some one has picked it up on another line. Only we're the only one's in the house. So my daughter pushes the button and answers it anyway, even though it isn't ringing anymore and it was one of her friend's calling.

So they talk for a few minutes and I hear my daughter start saying over and over "It's not me. I swear it's not me. No, it's not me." And then they end the phone conversation and I ask her what that was all about and she said "Somebody was pushing the buttons while we were trying to talk." So she's standing there with the cordless in her hand, hung up, and she says "See, mommy it says extension in use." And she pushes the button and sure as # there's beep beep like some one is pushing buttons on one of the other phones! So we come upstairs to the main phone in the computer room and it has a blue indicator light to show when the line is in use and the blue indicator light is blinking, so I pick up this phone and it's doing the same thing beep beep like some one is pushing buttons. Well, the only phone left is the cordless in my daughter's room. So she goes in there and in a minute the blue light on my phone goes off and I hear her say "It was my phone, somehow it got turned on." And I asked her, "How was it laying when you went in there?" and she said "On the frog." (She has a little stuff frog that hangs on the outside of the handset, so it was laying with the buttons facing up!!!!)

Tell me what this means!

I spoke to Springer on the phone about this. He said this weekend he is going to have a talk with "it"...in a neighborly kind of fashion.

Nothing bad has happened. But what concerns me is that the door closing last night (which was my daughter's bedroom door) and the phone incident with my daughter's phone, seems to be centering in toward her. THAT is not okay with me.

Still, nothing bad has happened.

We'll see what Springer comes up with.

I AM gonna have a "chat" with "IT" if IT exists.... I figure if IT wants to live there with my wife and kids IT has to DEAL with ME....

NOT the "Other way round"...

I figure IT has no more "purchase" on this dimension so it has to resort to dicking with things like phones and making noises...

Well, I am a MOST agreeable sort of chap and figure EVERYBODY can do what they need to do without dinking the other one's deal up....

You know what I mean? It shouldn't be real hard to communicate in my mind...
