I have never come across anyone of other faiths who were remotely offended by Christmas.

This started decades ago with certain London Councils (eg the Peoples Republic of Islington) banning the word in case it offended anyone.

It was called Political Correctness back then.

And to be fair, if there are any who are offended - like you I've never met anyone who actually is - then quite frankly, # 'em.

It seems it is offensive to say "Merry Christmas".

So, if it bothers you...

My sympathies to anyone whose holidays are filled with bigotry and hate. You will be in the prayers of many of us who chose the other path. It simply does not matter what words you use, as long as you respect each other.

I am blessed enough to live where we are free to celebrate as we wish. I can only hope the whole world figures out that the answer has never been hate. The don't say Christmas craze hit here for a few years, but It appears to be gone. Sanity has ruled the day.

Without the "Christ" part.. well.... there is no holiday.

And I thought that I am too tight with insistion on saying "the Christchild" bring the presents to my niece. What is it with the Elf On A Shelf things making bad influence on Christmas with the pranks they do? What do we teach the children...

The "X" in Xmas is from the Greek letter X or Chi. The Greek name Χριστός is translated to Christos/ Christ and "mas" is latin for mass. Also the"X" is part of the very first "christograms" or monograms in ancient times and used as abbreviation of Jesus Christ. Romans used 3 style of crosses to crucify people a big "T", a small "t" and an "X". Although the bible does give some evidence he was crucified on a small "t", but it's inconclusive.

Xmas is a very Christian term, if not more then Christmas.

I'm not even an Xtian and yet I knew. If it is true, then it's valid, regardless of other people's knowledge.Guess it should be taught in Bible study or something.

Your misleading map is showing counties, not States. And I highly doubt,that is representative of what you are trying to suggest.
