I guess it shouldn't be surprising as Birmingham tried to rename Christmas to "Winterval" a few years ago but not only have the organisers of London's biggest Christmas market renamed it as a "Winter come together" but they've also reportedly banned traders from saying Christmas !

The takeover continues apace.

I was just thinking, the last week at work and whenever I was around and about not one single "happy holidays", all Merry Christmas. Of course I live in a very conservative area. But work wise, even the Indian and Czech guys were saying Merry Christmas. They didnt over the last 2 years.

I think that is a good sign.

I am always sad about England. I am not sure if there is any hope for England.

I guess it isn’t a Christmas market then.
What happens to vendors who let a ‘Christmas’ slip out during conversation?

Without a Christmas to celebrate, there wouldn't be a holiday on December 25th.
These people are nothing but the dregs of fools.

So a vendor says "Christmas". What's the penalty? Here's the thing, you get what you tolerate. Keep tolerating the nonsense and it only gets worse. No skin off my onion, if that's how you choose to be governed.

Merry Christmas, England. Dickens would be so proud.

If you say "Jesus", the entire market will go quiet, and you might be ejected.

It's pretty obvious that Britain as a once great nation is now toast.

The markets own press release uses the word Christmas.

Good to see the traditional season 'war on Christmas' manufactured outrage is still a thing. Like a John Lewis ad or the first sighting of Michael Buble it wouldn't be Christmas without it.

For several years, many have been conditioned (pressured) to say "happy holidays" instead of Merry Christmas. Ever since I realized what was going on - the 'de-Christmasing' of Christmas, I started saying it loud and bold to whomever I talk to during the Christmas season. It's amazing how many people will respond in like that had initially said happy holidays before I say 'Merry Christmas". Even Walmart in the past few years, once I say it to the cashiers, they smile and say it back to me, as me saying it to them first gave them permission to respond in like. In fact, I have only once or twice had a 'happy holidays' response to my many Merry Christmas salutations over the years which, to each their own. I do know I won't be influenced to say or not say certain words simply to be inclusive or avoid 'offending' others. As far as the commercialization of Christmas, again, to each their own. I will celebrate my way, you celebrate yours.

They've been re-termed "Irregular migrants" over here , it's like calling a burglar an irregular occupant , they're still a burglar.

Illegal is as illegal does.

Same on my side. No Xmas or happy holidays. What is it with Xmas, are they to lazy to say Christ or is it not wanting to say Christ for rebellion but have the holiday and presents anyway?

Without the "Christ" part.. well.... there is no holiday.

And I thought that I am too tight with insistion on saying "the Christchild" bring the presents to my niece. What is it with the Elf On A Shelf things making bad influence on Christmas with the pranks they do? What do we teach the children...
