# like this is why America was invented.

Except you guys have been saying "Happy Holidays" instead of Christmas for years.

Merry Christmas AND happy holidays. You really think we have to choose one or the other? LOL

Au' contraire, Mon' frere!

You've missed the hypocrisy of the left. The gifting shall continue in spades, just the references to the creator who is the source of it all shall be removed. We must not forget the "Me! Me! ME!" mentality of the left. These people aren't pragmatic enough to want to eliminate commercialism if it means THEY don't get presents! Only the rich.

Their utopia does not involve thought or logic, nor cause and effect.

😉

Edit - BTW...Merry Christmas!

Meanwhile, in Syria…

The Presidency of the Council of Ministers in the caretaker government issued a circular today to suspend government institutions on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec.25 and 26, 2024, in celebration of Christmas.

Is this about the Southbank Centre Winter Market that is open from 1 Nov - 26 Dec ?

If so, I wonder why it wasn't reported as anti-Christmas on November 1. Was it not an issue then?

I just checked my local farmers market, which is usually open every Thursday. They dodged the bullet by being closed November and December. They won't have to be branded as anti-Christmas for not calling the December 20 Farmers Market a Christmas Market.

Without a Christmas to celebrate, there wouldn't be a holiday on December 25th.
These people are nothing but the dregs of fools.

Actually my husband and I celebrate Winter solstice and have a meal on the 22nd, to celebrate the days getting longer again.
We are both non believers...and yet, we say christmas.
I want people to say Christmas, why on Earth not?

I would never try to change things that are engrained, because it makes one an asshat and a stirrer and we don't need this at this time a year, where families get together.

So when we visit my mother in law tomorrow we will behave just like everyone else and have a good time.
My German family celebrated today, but we did nothing special at all today.

So have a good old merry Christmas everyone!

I just thought of a terrible moral dilemma:

What if I bought a Christmas present for someone,
and it wasn't purchased at a Christmas labelled retailer,

would the present be cursed?

Would the recipient be cursed to hate Christmas?

In order to protect the children,
wouldn't it be wise to ban non-Christmas observers from being retail merchants?

Do they still celebrate St. Nicholas Day in your country?
I remember celebrating it in a minor way as a kid in the US. But that was so long ago.... I wonder if anyone still celebrates that day.

I don't mind the Santa part of Christmas. As long as December 25th is still the day the Birth of Jesus is celebrated.

Oh thank god…errr Allah. Now the new rulers won’t have to be disgusted by the blatant displays of the old faith of the conquered people.

Yes, in our local school the first grader get visit from St. Nicholas and his sidekick Knecht Ruprecht. This is where our boot and socks get filled -or not.

I do not have a real opinion about Santa, other countries, other rituals. It is just not fitting together with celebrating Jesus birth and a man with red clothes. The connection is not there for me. Is why I telled the niece, it is the christ child visiting in house Naftalin

Not that she believe me anyway

Am I the only one who STILL says "Merry Christmas" to everyone they encounter and has yet to hear anyone complain? Though I do have my response prepared if somebody does complain. Depending on my mood it may not be too pleasant of a response.

Was this video of Muslims destroying a public Christmas Tree, filmed in the United Kingdom?

Animals!: gettr.com...

Maybe they could get away with this in California, but not many more places in America.

Sooo. I truly believe in freedom of religion. If you’re not Christian, I get it.

This is what I don’t understand about modern Christmas in the supposedly woke era. Especially after watching my kids Christmas program paying tribute to a Disney Frozen medley and a bunch of hack songs about useless presents and pop culture mindset.

Even if you take out Christ, Christmas was about fellowship, understanding the plight of your neighbours and the poor. And reaching out to those poor in spirit. Even if you have to sacrifice something of yourself. How does a supposedly woke society turn its back on grace and blessing one another to be literally taught in public school to embrace stuff like Disney?

One wonders who would be able to admit to being offended by calling the Christmas holidays Christmas.

I don't know anyone who is offended by Diwali, Eid or Ramadan I know of no one who actually objects to Christmas being called Christmas.

Anyone?

Anyway, I hope you all have a cracking Winterfest day

Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 to our Cousins over the Pond and a Happy New Year!

Christmas is alive and well over here.

The Royals have been to Church at Sandringham as usual.

Without Harry and Andrew.

The Reindeer are clearly a thinly veiled reference to Santa and therefore, Christmas.

I am offended and will report you to the authorities.
